If you voted Leave, did you/do you want 'no deal'?

No arguments or even debates about Brexit, not wanting to start a fight, just want to count the numbers in a very unscientific manner.
It seems any deal at all is quickly falling off the table, never mind the easiest deal in history.

If you voted Leave , do you want 'no deal'?

There's has already been a great deal of unrest and civil discord in areas of the the UK. Sad
Wow. People have lost jobs but its been white van man types, not the important people like on mn, because when they loose a job.... Then it's serious
People have been undercut, abused, lost work, told thier lazy, seen house loss, job loss and gone to food banks and told that Is because they are lazy.

I'm afraid they are white hot with rage and things can't get worse....
I know it's come out many mn have vested interest in eu, they work for it, they have a partner from eu (who will be fine to stay etc) they have nannies from Romania, cheap labour from eu they need but white van man.... Trades people have been shat on and they are leavers!

BuckingFrolics · 29/07/2019 22:45

I think everyone should have to wear a badge saying how they voted. So we can politely ignore those we want to ignore.

I'd rather not have any contact with leave voters, given the choice.

Blowingthroughthejasmine · 29/07/2019 22:45

Infact mn oft reminds me of aristocrat in French revolution telling peasants it will be much worse for them if they throw off thier masters.. They won't know what they are doing!

They just didn't understand for the peasants.... Civil unrest wasn't the worse outcome.

Bucking, I would happily and do happily converse with Remainers 😁 dh is one of them as are many dear family members.

However I'm sure many people whose lives have been ruined would also wish to avoid Remainers because that's the other extreme side.

Thankfully I'm in the middle.

GoldenRule · 29/07/2019 22:49

No Deal is so irresponsible. It impacts other countries like Ireland and I just think it's sad that the UK was once a champion of doing the right thing is now becoming isolationist and ugly. Times are a changing..

Draft withdrawel agreement was asked for above:

BuckingFrolics

How very tolerant of you.

GloriaSnockers · 29/07/2019 22:54

Three people in this household voted leave and we would all be supportive of no deal.
Extended members of the family voted remain and also voted Brexit party at the EU election, read into that what you will.

drcb83 · 29/07/2019 22:54

Yes - because forcing people to wear patches describing an allegiance worked so well in the past!....

I am a remainer - but everyone is entitled to their view and anyone that says otherwise should be the one being ignored.

Firecarrier · 29/07/2019 22:57

I was absolutely thrilled to be able to vote leave. It was the most meaningful vote I have ever cast in over 20 years.

Deal or not would absolutely not change my mind.

Haven't read the whole thread but, comments on first page around heckling of leave voters on here is spot on. If I only went by Mumsnet I would think virtually everyone was a remainer. Meanwhile back in the real world I know loads of Brexiters. Wink in this area Mumsnet really is a parallel universe for me Grin

Peregrina · 29/07/2019 22:57

told thier lazy,

Priti Patel said the British were lazy. She's now in Government.

crankyassnoperope · 29/07/2019 23:00

I hold onto the vain hope the all 21 of MN's "no deal" supporters were waiting by their keyboards for this very thread, ready to emerge from the many thousands of other posters and claim their niche position as mainstream! ...but in truth I think far more people now would say they're happy with no deal that would have back at the time of the original vote. Mostly out of sheer frustration.

BoneyBackJefferson · 29/07/2019 23:04

crankyassnoperope

If only there was someway that the government could actually find out what people's actual views on the subject were.

I'm sure that whatever the result people would be sensible and mature with the outcome of the results. (sarcasm for those that didn't get it)

KennDodd · 29/07/2019 23:06

Interestingly they're talking about exactly this on Newsnight now, public opinion on no deal.

OP posts:
Singlenotsingle · 29/07/2019 23:10

There was never any mention of a deal at the time, so no.
And now I just want out. Mrs May herself said no deal is better than a bad deal.

RoarkesMagicCoats · 29/07/2019 23:10

For those who voted leave and want no deal-I'dbe grateful if you'd head over to this thread and expand on things. I don't want to derail this thread hence starting my own.

If you want a no deal brexit-what does no deal mean to you? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/3651351-if-you-want-a-no-deal-brexit-what-does-no-deal-mean-to-you

Ohjustboreoff · 29/07/2019 23:14

I voted leave for very valid reasons that I still believe in today. I won't bother with saying what that are as I'll just be shouted down by rabid remainders like @Cinammoncake but I would welcome a no deal.

Firecarrier · 29/07/2019 23:15

Ooh Miljah I'm devastated to not be your friend Grin

ginghambox · 29/07/2019 23:20

Well that went pretty much as expected

Whatashitshow · 29/07/2019 23:20

I voted Leave. I did not vote for the shitshow of No deal and trouble again in Northern Ireland.

No deal will be disastrous and if we can't leave with a proper deal we should stay in the EU. It's the only thing that makes sense.

WarriorsAll · 29/07/2019 23:22

I'd rather not have any contact with leave voters, given the choice. I feel the same, thankfully I don't know very many but I do feel differently about the leavers I know, I would prefer not to spend time with them - my very silly SIL voted leave because she found Borid funny - and then regretted how stupid she was.

Firecarrier · 29/07/2019 23:24

The 'sneering' drips off the screen Hmm

ginghambox · 29/07/2019 23:30

Why do you remoaners keep namechanging?

WarriorsAll · 29/07/2019 23:30

Infact mn oft reminds me of aristocrat in French revolution telling peasants it will be much worse for them if they throw off thier masters.. They won't know what they are doing! I really hope you are right - I hope it'll be better for the presently less economically successful - I just don't believe it.
