If you voted Leave, did you/do you want 'no deal'?

No arguments or even debates about Brexit, not wanting to start a fight, just want to count the numbers in a very unscientific manner.
It seems any deal at all is quickly falling off the table, never mind the easiest deal in history.

If you voted Leave , do you want 'no deal'?

@Ivegotthree dearie me.

True patriots are angry, yes.

Angry at the Leaver numbskulls who are determined to damage our country further.

Since stupid can't be fixed then no deal it is. And then Leavers who want no deal will finally understand how very dim their choice was.

HTH 💋

Blowingthroughthejasmine · 29/07/2019 22:20

Thanks to everyone you Ken.
Will you scurry back to the brexit boards to tell all of your findings from the the thick audacious leavers?

Nanalisa60 · 29/07/2019 22:20

I voted to leave!! And I have no problem with leaving without a deal!!
I’m also happy for a second vote with two questions stay in or go without a deal!!

I think people would still vote to leave.

I would prefer to leave with a trade deal.

But lets remember that the EU are also to blame for this not happening.

(Awaits flaming from the usual)

Cinammoncake · 29/07/2019 22:21

I don't think the little we've heard about the negotiated deal sounds like an improvement on no deal at the moment, but details have been light so far.

I think that's a really important point, because we really will have years if not decades of aftermath from this and it's not going to be pretty.

No deal means we fuck with the GFA right? And therefore go against an international peace treaty?

Yes it does mean that

KennDodd · 29/07/2019 22:22

@Bercows

Yes, you're right. I should have been more precise rather than using the commonly used terminology of 'no deal'.

For some people... They are decades into the catastrophe of ever closer Union..

Already.
Nothing will be as bad.

Cinammoncake · 29/07/2019 22:25

They're really not. But that is the narrative being peddled now by Bojo, Raab, probably Mark Francois and the rest of them. People will buy it I don't doubt that.

Really interesting thread OP. Surprising how many want it, but at least some of the UK population will be happy I guess, when we crash out.

KennDodd · 29/07/2019 22:27

I know. I fear this division will go on for years.

Must be lacking in imagination to think this

Come on smell the roses. the deal that the EU has ratified is equally as damaging to them as to us. They are loosing a major market and a major contributor to the EU coffers.

KennDodd · 29/07/2019 22:30

but at least some of the UK population will be happy I guess, when we crash out.

Yes, I agree, lots of people will be celebrating no deal.

OP posts:
Blowingthroughthejasmine · 29/07/2019 22:30

Cinnamon this is some people's experience already. So many people lost thier jobs, standard of living fell etc.

It can't get worse they want out.
Bit shitty to call it a lack of imagination when people can't pay their mortgage or put food on the table because they have been undercut by cheap eu labour?

Deathgrip · 29/07/2019 22:30

OP, do you honestly think that people are going to be honest about their views on something that wasn’t even being discussed then? In fact, the Leave campaign made damn sure the possibility of leaving without a deal wasn’t being openly discussed before the referendum.

Leave voters must be well aware that failing to realise what they were actually voting for doesn’t cast them in the best light - you think they’ll admit it?

Nobody, except for a tiny minority with a vested interest or those who can’t see the repercussions, would have actively chosen a no deal Brexit. No informed voter can be looking at this option now and think “oh yes, this is definitely in our best interests”.

And this...
Leave is leave...who cares about the deal..we can negotiate later...let's get away from the dictatorship of the EU...who agrees...

This is the about the level of discourse you’d expect. No wonder our country is fucked. 🤦‍♀️

Deathgrip · 29/07/2019 22:32

It can't get worse they want out.

It can’t get any worse? It’s about to get a lot worse.

Cinammoncake · 29/07/2019 22:32

I don't get you boneyback - are you saying the deal is equally damaging to the EU, but they are also to blame for us not having passed the deal through our parliament?

Flyingquestion · 29/07/2019 22:32

Thanks, op. I had possibly been kidding myself that not all Leave voters support No Deal.

^ this

Why would anyone actively want a no deal scenario?

Blowingthroughthejasmine · 29/07/2019 22:33

Ah, death grip and cinnamon, here we go with the insults.

Blowingthroughthejasmine · 29/07/2019 22:33

Flying, because people simply want to be out of the eu lock stock and barrel?

BoneyBackJefferson · 29/07/2019 22:35

Deathgrip

Interesting that you have left out the level of discourse from cobblers and their ilk.

Some people on both sides of this don't come out looking very good.

But lets pretend that its all leavers.

Cinammoncake · 29/07/2019 22:36

It can't get worse they want out.
Bit shitty to call it a lack of imagination when people can't pay their mortgage or put food on the table because they have been undercut by cheap eu labour?

But it can get worse. A lot worse. The whole economy will tank. There will be civil unrest. All sorts could happen. If you look how quickly this whole thing has escalated, it's scary and could get far worse.

I'm saying it's lack of imagination to think this is the worst it can get, and if we leave with no deal it'll all get magically better. Because it won't.

Anyway, best I leave the thread as I'm firmly in the remain camp and I accept other peoples views are very different.

KennDodd · 29/07/2019 22:38

the catastrophe of ever closer Union..

I can't quite believe someone can think that considering that the EU (or it's predecessor) was set up in the aftermath of WW2 the prevent a repeat.

OP posts:
BoneyBackJefferson · 29/07/2019 22:39

Cinammoncake

No, I haven't said anything about the deal being passed through our parliament.

I said that the deal is as bad for the EU as it is for us.

How hard is that to understand?
Why do you feel the need to add to the statement?

KennDodd · 29/07/2019 22:41

I wonder if I'll get anymore votes? I didn't want this thread to descend into arguments or even debates about Brexit.

@Deathgrip
I know my poll is very unscientific Grin

And these points are without pointing out the without us Germany and the smaller countries will lose the guaranteed 35% required to block various policies that other states are trying to push through.
