If you voted Leave, did you/do you want 'no deal'?

No arguments or even debates about Brexit, not wanting to start a fight, just want to count the numbers in a very unscientific manner.
It seems any deal at all is quickly falling off the table, never mind the easiest deal in history.

If you voted Leave , do you want 'no deal'?

Jupiter the German car industry is the least of their worries, they are sliding into recession.
Every country in eu is tied inextricably with Germany, yes even US.

It's not looking pretty.

Mum2jenny · 29/07/2019 21:28

Prefer no deal rather than the WA, as the WA is the worst possible option.

However tbf I’d opt for rescinding article 50 instead of the WA.

But of the three options, I’d vote for a no deal brexit first, then rescind article 50 and never the WA.

Nah. Most countries are actually tied to the US due to the prevalence of the US dollar in banking.

That’s why Russia and China don’t like the US.

Oh right.... I thought eu countries tied into euro and the most powerful economy in eu... Were all tied together... On the sinking ship

TheNightof1000Fans · 29/07/2019 21:37

Yes

Eyewhisker · 29/07/2019 21:38

The problem with Brexit is what the Leave campaign promised - endless golden summers and unlimited cash and no migrants - could never be negotiated. But rather than admit it and accept a compromise, they can’t back down and save face so full on no deal it is.

It reminds me of what history said about how WWI began. No one intended it that way but there’s a point where no one can back down and millions of lives were pointlessly lost. After it repeated again, the EU was created to stop of happening again. It was hugely successful until one country had a temper tantrum. And now look where we are....

Ivegotthree · 29/07/2019 21:39

Me too @scaryteacher

@Cobblersandhogwash your attitude sums up the angry, inarticulate mud slinging that has characterised so many of the Remainers.

I have lots of friends who voted to remain but most of them can talk about it more eloquently and less offensively than you.

PeoniesarePink · 29/07/2019 21:41

I voted Leave. And would do so again.

And yes to No Deal.

permanentlyfrazzled1 · 29/07/2019 21:42

Two voters in this household, both of whom voted Leave in the referendum. Both of us would prefer an organised, agreed departure, however, we would both prefer ‘no deal’ rather than remain.

tomtom1999xx · 29/07/2019 21:42

Happy with no deal.

Iggly · 29/07/2019 21:44

Oh right.... I thought eu countries tied into euro and the most powerful economy in eu... Were all tied together... On the sinking ship

Mmm not quite. We are part of the EU but not in the Euro.

The US is effectively the backstop for the world wide banking economy.

tomtom1999xx · 29/07/2019 21:45

And so is every leaver I know in RL.
MN is a remain bubble and not a true reflection in the slightest.

Iggly · 29/07/2019 21:48

For those of you who would prefer no deal - why?

We still have to negotiate a new trade deal with the EU otherwise we put our country at a massive disadvantage. No deal just puts that off....

TheLovelyHorse · 29/07/2019 21:48

DP voted leave. He says there is no way he voted for 'no deal'.

My personal feelings on his wilful naivety are neither here nor there for the purposes of this thread, I believe.

worcestersauce29 · 29/07/2019 21:49

Sorority · 29/07/2019 21:55

Seems that no deal is the most popular option on here.

Most leavers, myself included, don't regret their vote it appears.

KennDodd · 29/07/2019 22:00

So what's that, 20/1 want no deal?

OP posts:
darkcloudsandsunnyskies · 29/07/2019 22:06

This is going well.

Peanutbuttericecream · 29/07/2019 22:08

Yes and yes

Miljah · 29/07/2019 22:12

I know three leavers personally. All are horrified by no deal, because they understand what an economic catastrophe this will be. That all assumed some sort of deal.

I know no No Dealers, but then, I choose my friends carefully.

All I wish is that this catastrophe hits No Dealers hardest, but it won't.

All I ask of any leaver, no dealers in particular, is to own your choice. You brought this down upon yourselves, and everyone else.

MythicalBiologicalFennel · 29/07/2019 22:15

Interesting thread OP. Bumping for you.

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 29/07/2019 22:15

I'm a staunch remainer but if we don't leave on October 31st I will dig my eyeballs out. Get on with it.

SistemaAddict · 29/07/2019 22:15

Don't we have to go with the WA regardless seeing as the WA isn't a deal in itself and is just the agreement on how to exit rather than what will happen after? Getting the WA through is just the start of the negotiations- a road map I've heard it called.

No deal means we fuck with the GFA right? And therefore go against an international peace treaty?

Blowingthroughthejasmine · 29/07/2019 22:17

Iggly. We are talking at cross purposes and its my fault. When I capitalised us. I meant the UK not the US.

We the UK are still tied to the eu inspite of not being in touch the euro.

I have no faith at all in the euro or euro block. I feel the entire project, however well meant after the war was hasty.
Many things not thought out.

KennDodd · 29/07/2019 22:17

I have only counted first hand opinions. Thank you to everyone who's posted.
