That chub rub is only a thing because we don’t want to accept that as a society we’re getting fatter and that companies catering to this are making money from normalising something which is unhealthy. But you can’t even ask about it because if you mention it you’ll be accused of body shaming.

hazeyjane · 06/07/2019 09:10

These threads make me think 95% of people are arseholes. Grim

I am old....I read this - Apple are shite, but then so are Samsung. .... and genuinely wondered why someone was comparing fruit to a tech company.

Radyward · 06/07/2019 09:11

Boris for PM

Liberalism is gone over the top.

Trump is refreshing and talks some sense more so than nonsense.
Obama was pretty lazy .all talk and no real action.

Gender neutrality annoys me as do communal changing rooms.

Omg. I'm sorry, I know I said I wouldn't talk about it again but FFS, the link I made between obesity and loneliness is the demand placed on the NHS.

I'm beginning to develop an unpopular opinion based on the comprehension skills of the average MN user that would have me banned.

Some people who are teetotal are smug and judgy.

Savoury99 · 06/07/2019 09:42

*Too many people judging women, including other women:

Too fat / too skinny
Too flabby / too much time at the gymNo makeup / too much makeup
FT / PT / SAHP
BF / FF
BLW / spoonfed
Cooking from scratch / time poor & knackered
.... enough judgey pants for the world's biggest landfill*

Yes.

Enclume · 06/07/2019 10:18

I thought it would be the racists, but it seems as if fatty-haters are winning on this thread.

louderthan · 06/07/2019 10:29

Breastfeeding makes me feel a bit sick and I have to look away if I see it
Reality tv is great
Social media is not to blame for all the ills of our times

louderthan · 06/07/2019 10:30

Sex on the first date is great. If a man thinks less of me for it I don't want to be involved with that man.

whatwouldbigfatfannydo · 06/07/2019 10:31

@walkofshame

You know that the actual structure of someone's pelvis can be the sole reason for this? You can be a healthy weight and still not have a thigh gap depending on the shape, position and angle of your pelvis and hip joints Hmm

And it's shocking the amount of people who don't understand that the pp was talking about the strain of loneliness on the NHS being larger than the strain caused by obesity. All for hearing other people's opinions, but at least make sure they're backed up by actual information!

maddiemookins16mum · 06/07/2019 10:31

An unpopular opinion on MN would be kids need their own beds (instead of all this co-sleeping) and that children really can be toilet trained easily before 3.

Disclaimer: SN excepted.

maddiemookins16mum · 06/07/2019 10:33

I’m fat.
Nowt to do with anything else apart from too much 🍕🍟🍔🍹 and not enough 🥗🥦🥒🧗🏼‍♀️🏊🏻‍♀️🤸🏻‍♀️.

SlowLiving · 06/07/2019 10:49

Good on you @maddiemookins16mum for having the honesty to say so.

I didn't read the article on loneliness. I couldn't be arsed.

SlinkyDogDash · 06/07/2019 10:49

All tattoos look cheap and tacky.

Most people are selfish and lazy.

There's a lot more to life than being a mum, it's a lifestyle choice, but work, hobbies, activities make you an interesting person.

InglouriousBasterd · 06/07/2019 10:54

Sport is life

People who genuinely can’t understand the issues behind obesity need an education

Aubergine is gross, no matter what I do to it Grin

WalkofShame · 06/07/2019 10:55

I didn’t (But I think most people don’t have a thigh gap do they?) I’ve only ever heard about this in the last year or so, so surely it must be more than not having a thigh gap? All the adverts that I’ve seen for products, all the people I know that talk about it are overweight which is why I made that assumption. It’s well documented that as a nation we are getting fatter, and either I’ve been walking round with my eyes closed for years or the products are just starting to come out.

I’m happy to be educated but the fact that based on experience I made that assumption but haven’t felt able to ask about it because I’d get accused of body shaming is an issue in my (unpopular) opinion.

Genuine question; were we (as a society) so sensitive when we started to realise that smoking wasn’t good for us? I’m a child of the 70s and used to smoke but did it in the knowledge that it wasn’t good for me and when people told me that I acknowledged that they were right but I chose to do it anyway. I can’t comment on how people reacted before that point when the health risks were new news but I’d be interested.

SlowLiving · 06/07/2019 11:18

@inglouriousBasterd oh come on!! Issues about obesity. It's called a greater intake of calories than burned off. Very simple concept.
Are you overweight?

3catsandcounting · 06/07/2019 11:21

Tattoos are grim. Doesn't matter if it's a beautiful design, ink on skin looks messy, wrong and weird.
And... although I watch Love Island, which is also unpopular, it's so refreshing to see so few tattoos; just beautiful, natural skin. (apart from the horrible Michael covered in ink on his revolting pumped-up body) 🤮

nakedscientist · 06/07/2019 11:40

That people don't know what popular means.

That anecdote is not evidence.

That clever is a compliment

Antichimp · 06/07/2019 11:57

Chimpanzees are not cute and lovable. They are nasty, sneaky, ugly, scary and violent.

Savoury99 · 06/07/2019 11:59

Probably a popular opinion - this thread is not as funny as when Radio 1 do it. The people on there are so nice and hilarious.

BobTheFishermansWife · 06/07/2019 12:36

It's gone the way most of these threads do, people start to disagree and sling mud. You can still find a couple of funny one's, but the nasty is starting to out weight the funny.

ittooshallpass · 06/07/2019 13:06

I love binge drinking.
I hate tattoos - would never have one and would be devastated if my DD got one (especially if it said MUM).
Don't like dogs. Especially when people let them lick their faces 🤢
