You do not need to spend a month celebrating a big birthday - clue is in the name - it's a day! actually someone I know even tried to keep the thing going for a year!!! - and if you do don't talk to me about it and expect me to go to New York for 7 days, attend 2 different parties and 2 meals - it's so self indulgent and no one cares what age you are!

I believe breastfeeding is overrated - once children get to school / nursery it’s impossible to tell how a baby was fed. Food choices later on have far more impact on BMI etc.

Food allergies are largely bollocks. Yes there are people with coeliac disease etc but those who claim food intolerance without testing and getting a medical diagnosis make me roll my eyes. I have an acquaintance who claims to be gluten intolerant, except for croissants. She speaks shite and I avoid her.

I loath the term ‘ex pat’. Only white people are ex pats. I am an immigrant in another country at present. There’s a village near me that’s 50% British population and it’s embarrassing how little they integrate - don’t attempt to speak the language, ask for all services in English. Moan about the local way of doing things and treat the locals badly. Yet the same people get up in arms about immigrants in the U.K. not integrating properly.

Birthdays are shit.

Private education is good.

People who pay £££££ to move to the catchment of a good state school then bitch about those who send their DC to private school are awful.

I also believe in the Gaia theory. (I get laughed at a lot by my DH’s clever friends).

I think those who don’t give some small sign of thanks when you let them out in traffic should be disqualified for discourtesy.

Similarly those who don’t realise they have indicators and what they do.

That cheese and egg shouldn’t be in the same dish (other than possibly small amount of Parmesan browned on top).

That cyclists should go to road courtesy training and have licence and registration plate (grew up with this system - have my plates from first bikes!). System to be funded solely by boy racers

Yes. I may have a thing against obesity. It is crippling the NHS and is 98% of the time due to overeating/lack of activity. 98% of the time it is not due to genetics, or hormones, or disability, or food allergy.....ffs.
I agree with Piers Morgan, do not celebrate fatness!!

I know I'm a bit of a dog with a bone about this. I'm neither fat nor lonely, but if we are going to talk about economics and illness I can't understand why this issue drops off the radar except for the fact that perhaps it's less satisfying to bitch on lonely people?

Because loneliness will swamp the NHS before obesity, which was slow's concern, apparently. Have an unpopular opinion about fat people, it's no skin off my nose. I just thought you might want to have an informed opinion. But, you're right, I'll stand down.

People who bang on about their hatred of various foods or drinks (gin is rank, goats cheese is vile, coffee is the devil's brew and should be banned etc) are massively boring.
It's just food, eat it or don't eat it.
No one gives a flying fuck about your likes and dislikes - your opinion matters not one jot to anyone else, so get over yourself. And grow up.

GP’s should ask their obese patients what are they going to do about being overweight. This was a wake up call for MIL who wanted pain killers for arthritis who has now lost 4 stone.

That people who get pissed off over "discourtesy" are passive aggressive gits. They resent doing nice stuff for other people, so want everyone to acknowledge their tremendous self-sacrifice.
