What have you splurged on that has been worth every penny?

Recently bought a MacAir which is a thing of beauty and wonder. Am also gradually replacing cheap crockery with lovely Denby stuff.

I now buy good quality bras instead of M&S and more 'high end' makeup.

So I'm not talking houses, cars, horses etc. What have you bought/upgraded that you love so much more than the cheaper version and has been good value?

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie - sorry, that wasn't intended for you! It was for another PP who posted about prescription sunnies :-)

CockleburIck · 10/07/2019 11:52

A beautiful big dog. I am now fit and loved unconditionally!

Like many others, a good bed.

A caravan

Big house with good view.

Custom made, solid wood, hand painted kitchen. Will last longer than me. Can paint it if I get bored with it!

A quooker hot water tap. Saves so much time!!

StCharlotte · 10/07/2019 13:35

Polarized Ray-Bans. Finally, a pair I look good in and I can see!

Amibeingdaft81 · 10/07/2019 13:37

What does polarised offer?

DoingItForTheKids · 10/07/2019 13:42

Rigby and Peller trip for some proper bras. Oh my, what a game changer.

fraxion · 10/07/2019 14:03

What does polarised offer?

They cut out glare. Eg looking at water, you don't get the glare of the sun reflecting and it's much clearer.

@gokartdillydilly You can get varifocal sunglasses - I have a pair and they're great. As well as needing varifocals as I've got older I've also found my eyes are much more sensitive to light so I wear them all the time for driving.

ElizaPancakes · 10/07/2019 15:41

Kindle Voyage - love it so much and use it daily.

gokartdillydilly · 10/07/2019 17:44

Thanks Ineedawitty, I'm going to go for it on Saturday. Ultra-thin lenses contribute to a flaming expensive outlay. They are a necessity not a luxury, but something I won't go cheap on.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 10/07/2019 18:14

GoKart - I absolutely love my prescription sunglasses. I got them as my second pair from Specsavers. They didn't have a vast choice, but I like big tortoiseshell ones, and they had exactly that!

Glasses Direct are great for prescription sunglasses, always have an offer on. I’m on my third pair and wouldn’t be without them.

Bellasblankexpression · 11/07/2019 08:34

I love my bean to cup coffee machine so much

Our bed - we lived in rentals previously and decided to get a decent one, it has a latex memory foam topper and is so comfy.

Keihl’s vitamin c serum - perks up my skin and makes it glow and keeps breakouts at bay

Fossil handbags - last for ages, beautiful leather and great for every day

le Crueset - I’ve only got one dish but plan to replace all mine now because it’s so good!

My nutribullet - use it pretty much every other day

Those who raved about chantecaille foundations, do they do samples? I can’t see any on their website and am really unsure which colour to go for - I’m not near any stockists :(

pinkhousesarebest · 11/07/2019 08:51

A swimming pool. ( not in the U.K.) Has transformed my life and my body.

luckygreeneyes · 11/07/2019 09:00

Le crueset pots and pans - the handle stays cold and I reckon they’ll last forever
Le creuset cast iron - classic, beautiful, makes me happy
White company bed linen
White company towels
Regular shellac and hd brows, make me feel reasonably well groomed even when I’m anything but
Coco mademoiselle perfume, no matter what I try I always come back to this
Stokes tomato ketchup
Marvis Toothpaste
Fresh flowers
Woden trainers
Neom/espa house fragrance
Organic milk

I really need to rein in the spending...

StCharlotte · 11/07/2019 12:49

Thanks fraxion for answering.

Actually, I don't understand why all sunglasses aren't polarised. I've got a couple of other pairs of expensive ones (and many, many pairs of cheap ones Grin) but when it comes to actually seeing properly, they're all useless.

StCharlotte · 11/07/2019 12:50

*other pairs of non-polarised expensive ones

BigusBumus · 11/07/2019 12:55

I spent £2.5k having my Grade 3 (that's the worst) Inverted Nipples corrected. Totally pointless in the grand scheme of things, but for the first time in my 47 years I have beautiful boobs and proper sticky-out nipples and I love them!!!! Grin

Weathergirl1 · 11/07/2019 12:59

Yes yes to Le Creuset. We got two casseroles on our wedding list 11 years ago. At the time we plugged for Meyer Anolon pans thinking they'd last... Utter rubbish as the non stick coating has not lasted and it's nigh on impossible for them to replace despite having lifetime warranty... We're slowly replacing with Le Creuset stainless pans. The saute pan we have now is amazing!

Weathergirl1 · 11/07/2019 13:04

PS: also Le Creuset do honour warranties - they replaced a pottery dish we had that cracked into two in the oven (a bit like Aslan on the stone table!)

PantsyMcPantsface · 11/07/2019 13:05

My iPad Pro... then I dropped the bugger and cracked the screen - so now I have a big iPad Pro and a little iPad Pro instead :)

HippyTrails · 11/07/2019 13:05

my Roomba robot hoover, truly transforms life
Apple Mac book & ipads

DoveOfPiss · 11/07/2019 17:46

I'm so glad this thread is still active. Off the strength of PPs recommendations I have just ordered a Eufy robot vacuum cleaner!! It's arriving tomorrow and I'm so excited!!!
Looking forward to going to the amplifon shop to investigate hearing aids for low-frequency hearing loss.

Thank you all GrinFlowers

Any chance someone can link to their instant pot? I need this in my life right now.

sueelleker · 11/07/2019 19:00

There are several Facebook groups for Instant Pot.
