What have you splurged on that has been worth every penny?

Recently bought a MacAir which is a thing of beauty and wonder. Am also gradually replacing cheap crockery with lovely Denby stuff.

I now buy good quality bras instead of M&S and more 'high end' makeup.

So I'm not talking houses, cars, horses etc. What have you bought/upgraded that you love so much more than the cheaper version and has been good value?

I've decided the Instant Pot probably isn't for me, but that does look a great deal if anybody is tempted.

You could stick it in the oven for a few minutes after cooking. I don't eat the skin, so I'm not bothered.

I've been back and forward about the instapot. There's only the two of us and I'm not sure we'd use it much. You can cook a whole chicken in it but you can't get crispy skin, kind of a deal breaker for me .

@Flyingarcher thanks, love the description ‘squiggly wiggly’ 😀 my cases are cotton on the underside so they don’t slip about I just had visions of the quilt sliding all over the place, I do have to iron the pillowcases though but they wash well.

After a massive house declutter I don't want too much 'stuff' these days but now the kids are older and it's easier to get out I do like to splurge on theatre tickets roughly every three or four months it's great to have something to look forward to but not cheap by the time you factor in trains/taxis, drinks, maybe a meal. It's worth it to me though, I get very low sometimes just plodding along.

@LuxuryWoman2018 It is slippy and made me feel a bit squiggly wiggly for the first couple of nights. Husband was very dubious at first but then he slept like a log and its so good we've bought a double for the caravan. I haven't got the pillow cases because I worried about on going squiggly wiggly feeling and mainly cos they weren't on offer! I did get all the stuff in a sale so wouldn't pay full price. Was very worryabout how duvet cover would wash - whether it would be a crumpled mess but just hung it over banisters and all smooth and good.

A kind of silly one but I bought a bath mat, just from Dunhelm but it was a premium range one and was I think £25 or £30 but my feet just sink into it after a shower, it’s a little bit of luxury every day.

YY to prescription sunglasses, though living in Australia makes them more par for the course. Even in winter, I'll wear them most days for driving, keeping a spare pair in the glove compartment.

I have to wait for my money's worth of my latest splurge as it's winter here: proper air con in my front living room, the one I use most, which has windows facing north and west. Scorchio. The feeble air-con system in the room died the moment we signed the contract on the house and we never replaced it, relying on passive cooling and ceiling fans. I will still use the first two first, but there are days when they just don't cut it.

The I and the we is significant as my late DH thought all air-con in the home was for sooks, though this didn't stop him from de-camping to the only cool bedroom in the house at the height of summer while I battled with the air-con upstairs - the noise can annoying.

Five years ago I upgraded to Aveda hair and skincare, joined a yoga club and started buying fewer clothes.

It was after I'd seen some fashion guru on TV saying that if you're in good shape and well-groomed, all your clothes will look three times as expensive. She wasn't wrong.

My DH would say our induction hob and self-cleaning oven. Cleaning the hob is just wiping across glass and with the oven you press clean and it goes on 500°C for two hours and turns any dirt to dust, which you just wipe off with a damp cloth. I don't usually rave about appliances but I do marvel at it!

Ah bags - I did treat myself to a Givenchy pyramid tote bag. It's light as a plastic bag because it has no hardware. Just a piece of (so soft!) leather folded into an origami shape with handles. I use it every day, so = pennies per use really.....

Biggest splurge was dental work and worth every penny. Yes to decent chocolate and although not so expensive I got a personal air conditioner to help my hot flushes. Perfume makes me happy everyday so worth it but tend to stick with reasonable ones like Ghost for unspecial occasion and they’re often on offer.

Not a splurge remus bit I have this and it comes in red, very nice quality www.myexquisiteshop.com/products/camila-small-shoulder-bagel-bag I think the longchamp bags are great for everyday and worth the money as they hard wearing.

Think I’m going to get prescription sunglasses.

Swithering over the Joseph Joseph totem bin on Amazon Prime. We have far more recycling than rubbish so would want to use the top section for recycling. We have mixed recycling so no need to sort it.
