Would you judge this parent?

If a parent turned up at a school event, such as sports day, nativity etc, dressed in untidy/dirty work clothes. Pre school or early primary age children. Parent is self employed, tradesperson. Not filthy but obviously less clean and tidy than an office worker.

No. I would be glad they made it there for their child.

danni0509 · 17/06/2019 16:35

Wouldn't bother me, least they turned up.

NeutralJanet · 17/06/2019 16:35

No, I'd think they had had to come straight from work with no chance to change, no big deal.

crosser62 · 17/06/2019 16:35

Absolutely NOT .
I’d judge any one that judged that person though.

Greenteandchives · 17/06/2019 16:35

No. Definitely not. I would assume they had dashed from a job to attend the event.

MrsBungle · 17/06/2019 16:35

No, not at all.

Tentomidnight · 17/06/2019 16:35

No, I would just think that they had rushed straight from work to see their child, which is a good thing in my book!

CIT80 · 17/06/2019 16:36

No not all, would think how lovely they have managed to nip out of work to watch their child

DoctorDread · 17/06/2019 16:36

No. Is this a reverse?

WhiteLightTrainWreck · 17/06/2019 16:36

It's their work gear, I wouldn't judge them any different to an office working parent who shows up in a suit...

HappyDinosaur · 17/06/2019 16:37

No, not at all if it looked worky as you describe. I probably would a bit if it was someone who clearly just didn't like to wash if I'm being really honest.

BertrandRussell · 17/06/2019 16:37

Absolutely not.

RickAstleyGaveMeUp · 17/06/2019 16:37

So long as they weren't super smelly, mind you, officewear can get pretty smelly after a long day in a hot office and horrible commute. How dirty are we talking?

Whackitupto200 · 17/06/2019 16:38

No. They would have obviously come from work to see their child’s sports day. Just like a lot of the other parents.

Greyhoundsaregreyt · 17/06/2019 16:38

No. Were any comments passed?

happyhillock · 17/06/2019 16:39

Definetely not at least they showed up

Stravapalava · 17/06/2019 16:39

Not at all. They made an effort to be there for their child. There are a couple of dads at school pick up who come like this and no one bats an eyelid.

I remember at my DC's old school, there was a single mum who used to move heaven and earth to come to events for her DC and she must have done a manual / trades job as she always rushed in slightly late in dirty hi-vis. I admired her slightly for her commitment!!

Nesssie · 17/06/2019 16:40

I wouldn't. And I'm a very judgemental person.
Although if the person smelled (for example worked at a sewage works etc) then I would wonder why they didn't bring a change of clothes.

RedWineAllMine · 17/06/2019 16:40

I wouldn't judge at all. They are working to provide for their children.

Cornishmum00 · 17/06/2019 16:41

Lots used to turn up like to my kids school events, no differnt to me arriving in my carers tunic we were all there to watch our dc

Bunnybigears · 17/06/2019 16:41

Not at all. It's usually obvious someone's clothes are dirty due to being a trades person. If someone turned up in a dirty tracksuit stinking of smoke with half their dinner slopped down the front that would be different but I would still be impressed they made the effort to come to their childs event.

cocomelon23 · 17/06/2019 16:42

No way!

Etino · 17/06/2019 16:43

Nope!

DullPortraits · 17/06/2019 16:45

No but i would sure as hell judge the stuck up twats who judged the parents who do turn up as so 🤷‍♀️

Shitsandgigglez · 17/06/2019 16:45

No! Would anyone really??? I might not want to brush past them though ie keep a slightly wide berth but that's because I'm an anal so and so

But id think to myself that they'd made an effort to get there
