It's time... Yes we fucking hate summer.

Although it hasn't got as hot as it was last year (yet) I feel like I've already had enough. I'm got hayfever, I can't go outside without insects getting in my face and I'm already feeling hot and sticky. I also want to go to bed and someone round here is having an outdoors party. Yes I'm a Scrooge, no I don't care. Roll on autumn and crisp sunny days and frost and apples and brightly coloured leaves (ahh, I feel cooler already.)

Blazing sun

Muggy

Feel like shit

🙄

Hedgehogparty · 11/07/2019 14:45

Hopefully rain on the way.
And longest day has come and gone......

LoafofSellotape · 11/07/2019 15:19

It's tried to rain twice and gone very dark, but now the sun is out and it's just muggy again/still!

SapphireSeptember · 11/07/2019 19:33

Hello again, haven't been on Mumsnet for a while. Prepare for a rant!

I wish it would rain too.

And my fucking housemates will NOT leave the fucking bathroom window open, or the one in the toilet, hence the ceiling is black with mould AGAIN. My window is open and my fan is on, so my room is nice and cool. The communal areas of the house feel like a fucking swamp and I start sweating like a pig in a butcher's shop. No one else ever opens any fucking windows, and they like to leave the kitchen door closed. (Fair enough when someone's cooking, but pointless the rest of the time. Air circulation/cross-breezes are a thing.) I'm contrasting this with my in-laws where the bathroom/toilet windows are never closed and in the summer the back door is always open. I like fresh air, even in the middle of winter. But no, I'm stuck with a bunch of special snowflakes who complain they're cold when it's June, and then put the heating on!

Also I'm stuck with one of the special snowflakes for at least another month. (They're off work with depression, and then proceeded to 'mansplain' depression to me. I restrained myself from doing an impression of The Joker. Hmm He's a sexist twit anyway.) I open a window, it gets shut ten minutes later. Also I wanna bring my FWB round and I can't until I get the house to myself.

I am SO hot,I went for a walk and I ended up a big sweaty mess🙄

I love a nice walk in the evenings but when it's cool and breezy !

OP your rant made me laugh 😂 new housemates are in order!!

SapphireSeptember · 11/07/2019 23:08

I wish! The one who turned the heating on might be moving out soon (she's also the live-in cleaner/gardener, I am not taking on those duties as the only other female here.) Then maybe the damned windows might get left open. (The landlady's husband agreed with me about leaving the window in the bathroom open.)

We’ve had mozzies like fucking albatrosses swooping around.
Baffled till I found the DC’s bucket of ‘potion’ merrily humming away in the willow den Angry

SapphireSeptember · 11/07/2019 23:45

Yikes! Nuke the site from orbit, just to be sure...

Its July @SapphireSeptember So closer to Autumn by just a little bit Your housemates are being ridiculous.

My druggie neighbour is still stinking up the place

SapphireSeptember · 12/07/2019 09:23

Yeah, that was last month (shows how long I've been away from this place) but I was still unamused. Day in question was 15C and she was complaining it was 'freezing'. Hmm

I'd wait till your neighbour is an easy target, and then dump a bucket of cold water all over them (accidentally of course.)

We had rain on and off yesterday.
Doesn't that mean it's meant to be cooler and not so sodding muggy???

I looked up muggy the other day, it's one of the words that makes my teeth itch - don't know why I just hate it, and it was defined as people feeling mugged by the weather! Why didn't I know that before?? I was expecting something about humidity but no

LoafofSellotape · 12/07/2019 10:47

Pissed down here last night, I had to get up and shut the bedroom doors and windows-breezy here today but hot 🙄

Becca19962014 · 12/07/2019 13:00

Went out and thought perhaps I should get a light jacket due to cool wind but decided to enjoy it instead, shop was baking hot, came out and it was muggy again so glad I enjoyed the breeze whilst I could. I saw people with huge coats on complaining about our horrendous freezing summer Confused

It's 18c according to fairies...

managedmis · 12/07/2019 13:18

That poor bloke Sad

managedmis · 12/07/2019 13:20

I'm abroad and it has been hot all week (30+)

Last night it rained, finally! So it's a bit cooler this AM - still forecast to be 27 this PM though...

Ugh. Hate the mugginess

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 12/07/2019 15:09

I couldn't help but laugh at your post SapphireSeptember

I'd be done for heat rage!

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 12/07/2019 15:11

Kill them all, then wait calmly for the police to arrive. At least the place will be cool.

Becca19962014 · 12/07/2019 15:12

Horrible here. Really muggy inside and out. Have both fans (and the one that sprays water) going. Looking out the window it looks miserable (great!) outside but it's really muggy and horrible.

Fairies now claiming 22c.

Shouldn't be allowed!

SapatSea · 12/07/2019 16:05

BBC says its 24 degrees here but temperature gauage by kitchen door says it's 27. So, so muggy and the local weather presenter had the cheek to say it would be "a relatively warm, pleasant day".

Just back from walk in local woods, was very muggy in there too and lots of professional dog walkers with packs of dogs off lead who were clearly weather crazy and running up and jumping on me and my teenage son. Usually the dog walkers are there in the morning, not the afternoon. I have a balance disorder and it was all to much activity for my overheating brain. On the walk back my son announced he hadn't brought his water from the car and guzzled down mine.. grr. Felt so hot and almost panicked by the time I got to the car (which has crap/useless air con). Lots of cyclists I passed had red sunburn on their arms and faces. Don't envy them tonight.

So glad to get home. Back to 7pm walks for me.

Saw this a few days ago:

Time to consider the move North

lololove · 12/07/2019 17:59

The north isn't much better., 'm north and on the coast and it's ridiculous. Not a big of wind of air out there - it's stupidly hot.

Last 2 days at lunchtime I've made 2 sandwiches and sweated profusely just doing that . Stupid body, stupid nervous system, stupid summer!

managedmis · 12/07/2019 18:19

I'd be moving to Scotland

HelenaDove · 12/07/2019 20:42

Considering adding The Sanctuary Sweatbucket to the first line of my address.

Becca19962014 · 13/07/2019 10:29

It looks lovely here today - grey, dark, breeze. Can't work out if I should risk a light jacket or I'll fry like yesterday.

My joints are really bad which means a major weather change usually..

LoafofSellotape · 13/07/2019 10:39

Grey dark and breezy here too- hooray!
