Hi everyone,

Awhile ago there was a thread going where we wrote what our toddlers had eaten each day and it was great seeing how/what others were eating. It was really helpful.

I just wondered if anyone fancied starting it up again.

DS 22m
Breakfast - 1 1/2 pancakes made from banana egg and oats. 4 chunks of melon
Snack - 2/3rds of a satsuma
Lunch - pork loin steak, carrots, parsnips, peas. 3 bites of boiled potato with butter
Snack - was on a playdate so some scrambled egg as we arrived while they were eating lunch. 2 strawberries 2x crackers and couple pieces of pineapple.
Tea - couple chunks of chicken, slice of pepper and probably half a mouthful of egg noodles. 4 chunks of melon.

My 26mo has eaten:

Rice crispies (Ikea children’s bowl, half full and with semi skimmed milk
Cup of milky tea (small)
Whole plain porridge pot for her second breakfast

Lunch was beans, ham and some cheese (ate about 3 spoons of beans half slice of ham two small bites of cheese)

Tea was sausage, mash, carrots, peas and Yorkshire puddings (ate one sausage, two dessert spoons of mash, probably half a whole carrot and a couple of spoons of peas and a whole yorkie dipped in gravy)

Snacks have been a nectarine and a chocolate biscuit.

DancerDan · 29/05/2019 20:20

2.5 year old

Breakfast - porridge with raisins

Snack - cheese cubes and grapes. Stole half a mini pork pie

Lunch - 2 scrambled eggs 1 piece of toast

Tea - Pesto pasta with cuc, cherry toms and avocado. Few chunks of chicken, discarded

Half a strawberry (usually loves them Hmm)
Milky bar mousse

Cup of milk

Average day really, she's not keen on meat protein so find it tricky to get enough in her (unless it's sausages or fish fingers Hmm)

I wish my daughter would eat half of the wonderful things I'm reading on here. How are you all convincing your toddlers to eat real food?

Breakfast - 1/4 of a slice of toast

Snack - packet of yoghurt covered fruit flakes and a mini soreen

Lunch - half a cheese and grape pancake and some apple

Snack - she was out with her grandparents so highly likely she had some sort of cake

Dinner - her tears of disgust after she looked at a bowl of chilli

Moominfan · 29/05/2019 21:04

He's 2.5

FenellaMaxwell · 29/05/2019 21:06

DS, 2, has been at nursery today so he’s had all meals except his evening snack there. Although on the skinny side, he eats like a horse.

Breakfast - a slice of toast and butter, scrambled egg (2 eggs), a banana, a cup of milk

Snack:
Marmite rice cakes and grapes

Lunch: roast chicken with new potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, peas, sweetcorn and gravy then apple and oat crumble.

Snack: cheese cubes and cucumber sticks, a cup of milk

Supper: spaghetti with spicy tomato sauce and cheese, then Greek yogurt and berries

Snack: a banana, a bag of Ella’s kitchen cheese crackers, a handful of cherry tomatoes.

TinyTickler · 29/05/2019 21:07

Lunch - baked beans and toast
Snack - breadstick
Dinner - tuna fish pie, peas and carrots
Desert - strawberries & raspberries

bingbangbosh · 29/05/2019 21:16

DD 18 months.

Breakfast: Banana and yoghurt, half a mini soreen.

Snack: Organix mini gingerbread men, the rest of the soreen (at least I assume she finished it as it has disappeared!).

Lunch: Pitta and hummus with cucumber and red pepper sticks, one egg omelette, bowl of strawberries, raspberries and grapes.

Dinner: Cheese, onion, red pepper and chicken quesadilla with baby sweetcorn, more strawberries and blueberries. Ok, she ate half and I ate the rest of the quesadilla Blush

She doesn't tend to eat much at home, and doesn't really have snacks unless she is really hungry, or I need to keep her quiet in the buggy Grin But apparently eats like a horse at nursery...

Sweetooth92 · 29/05/2019 21:16

Oh god I feel like my DS is massively over eating after reading this 😳
He’s 16 months. On the 99th centile for height, skinny as a rake and literally never sits still so that makes me feel less guilty

Pre Breakfast snack-several handfuls of mixed fruit and nuts i made the mistake of leaving on my bedside table, he easily had 100g of the large bag
B-bowl of Cheerios at nursery
S-at nursery so not 100% but usually fruit & a cracker or flapjack type
L-again at nursery, believe today it was a pork roast. He had seconds 🙄 followed by dessert, old school in roly poly and custard
(I get so jealous when I see their menu on the wall, it’s like going back in time some days!)
S-similar to am
D1-again unsure as nursery, usually pasta bake & salad or wraps/sandwiches. Egg/beans on toast etc w yoghurt and fruit
D2-because he insists on eating with us too in an evening, was lamb tagine & Moroccan Cous cous with toasted almonds & natural yoghurt, with a banana and berries afterwards.

The boy has hollow legs. We took him to Pizza Hut for a buffet on Sunday and he ate more than me. At least half a pizza, nearer 3/4 plus several bowls of salad. We still are yet to find something he doesn’t like. Adores spice, bitter, you name it. I know I should be relieved he eats well but I’m terrified of feeding him through the teen years already and would love to be able to have an Indian takeaway/go out for Thai without having an extra pair of hands picking through my meal eating more than me!

FenellaMaxwell · 29/05/2019 21:19

@Sweetooth92 I wouldn’t worry about the amounts - some kids are just like that- mine is - but it’s maybe worth just keeping an eye on how much salt he’s having - at 16mo they should only have 1 gram of salt a day, which is only about a slice and a half of Pizza Hut pizza.

Sweetooth92 · 29/05/2019 21:30

@FenellaMaxwell thankyou. We usually don’t let him go quite so mad on the salt front but for an occasional treat we try to let him have free reign. After seeing my nieces and nephews hugely restricted during their childhood and how they react with foods in their teens really concerned me so we are trying to put across the everything is okay in moderation message rather than rationing everything. For bread based stuff at home DH is coeliac so we make our own bread/pasta which I don’t add the salt and so on too so hopefully it’ll balance out overall!

RubaDubMum89 · 29/05/2019 21:38

We've had a terrible junk day today, the first in ages, but DD (2.5) had been off her food recently so I'm inclined not to care 😂 in no particular order :

Weetabix
Two soft boiled eggs.
Half a slice of toast.
Half a sausage
Banana
A cornetto
A twister ice lolly
Celery
Fun sized chocolate buttons
An orange

The only thing she ate every last bit of was the twister 😂
