I just looked and didn't find it, but have missed threads a few times as seem to always look in wrong place. If there is a thread please can you tag me in it?

I wonder if Brexit Party have any other policies on any other issues apart from leaving on WTO terms.

Cwenthryth · 26/05/2019 23:59

I’m not 100% sure it’s as straightforward that UKIP loses MEPs and Brexit Party gains them - it’s a very different landscape to 5 years ago, many people were simply not as interested in EU issues until the referendum when they were directly asked. The electorate will have naturally have moved towards remain in terms of ageing etc. I expect turnout is higher now. Last EU elections people were voting for representatives assuming we were staying in the EU, this time people are making a point to the government. There’s too many differences to make direct comparisons like that.

WhenIsTheEasyBit · 27/05/2019 00:00

But UKIP voters were always driven by anti-EU sentiment.

If it was still, just a trade block we wouldn't have brexit

Quite so

However it will be interesting to see all the runners for the Tory leadership promising a Brexit they've no intention of delivering

borntobequiet · 27/05/2019 00:01

carer - they don’t. And they have no party structure to allow party members to formulate policy. The Brexit party is a single issue one man band promoting Farage, his neo-fascist politics and his bank balance.

Cwenthryth · 27/05/2019 00:01

I’d count Tory as leave - certainly no serious remain voter would have voted Conservative!

Labour is the only one you can’t interpret, because they don’t know themselves.

venturingback · 27/05/2019 00:01

Wales

2 Brexit party
1 Plaid Cymru
1 Labour

BlueCornishPixie · 27/05/2019 00:02

If you add lib dems, green, son, plaid and change as pro-remain

Ukip + brexit as pro-brexit

Labour/conservative can't be counted as they aren't clear.

MustardScreams · 27/05/2019 00:06

It’s doesn’t matter if you count Tory as leave, they aren’t being counted as leave by anyone in any power.

WeeWeed · 27/05/2019 00:06

SNP?

venturingback · 27/05/2019 00:07

SNP are completely remain

joystir59 · 27/05/2019 00:09

But the Brexit party ARE Tories, ultra right wing Tories

noodlenosefraggle · 27/05/2019 00:09

Yes that's true, and SNP and lib dem look like they will dominate Scotland.

joystir59 · 27/05/2019 00:10

And the LibDems are Tories

meditrina · 27/05/2019 00:11

Yes. They must be counted, and they are Leave. Their policies are -currently, and for this election - clear.

I know that'll go down like a mug of cold sick on MN, which attracts many posters who want to decry 'Leave'. But a vote for Labour and Tories at present is a vote for a 'Leave' party (whatever the infighting shenanigans).

I am not a Leave voter, btw, but there is a considerable level of denial about the strength of the Leave vote. It cannot just be wished (or gerrymandered) away

venturingback · 27/05/2019 00:13

On a lighter note and if you are still awake, if you go outside you will see the star link satellite deployment. It is rather cool

MustardScreams · 27/05/2019 00:13

Ffs 😂 it’s not being “wished for” - labour and tories are not being counted as leave or remain, in this very one topic vote.

It doesn’t matter if anyone doesn’t agree with that, or wishes it another way. That the way that the results are going to be read by the people that matter - ie the ones that are going to be taking us out of the EU or will be organising a 2nd ref.

Cwenthryth · 27/05/2019 00:14

Did you see the Conservative party election broadcast? It was all about “getting Brexit done” (haha) - definitely leave. If ‘anyone in any power’ doesn’t interpret Conservative votes as leave votes than that may go some way to explain why we’re in this mess Grin

Drasticaction · 27/05/2019 00:14

Brexit is cross party. Not far right at all.

caringcarer · 27/05/2019 00:18

I am watching BBC and just seen the overall map of UK. Scotland is yellow as mainly won by SBP but rest of country generally Turquoise for Brexit Party.

venturingback · 27/05/2019 00:19

South east

Change UK 105,,833
Conservative 260,277
Green 343,249
Labour 184,678
Liberal dems 653,743
Brexit party 915,686

It’s a bit of a stretch to say the labour vote is a leave vote. The current position at the top is sort of sitting on the fence while half-heartedly talking about a second referendum. The two candidates at the top of our list are very vocally pro-remain. There’s absolutely no way that can meaningfully be counted as a leave vote.

MILKSHAKE needed

PenguinsRabbits · 27/05/2019 00:21

Any survey to suggest 100% of Green/PC/SNP/Lib Dems all vote remain and have identical views on everything?

RainbowFox · 27/05/2019 00:22

FFS it feels like North West is last and I want to go to bed!
