How many fillings do you have and how old are you?

My parents never took me to the dentist 😩 I started going at 18. I’m now 28 and I have a feeling I’m going to need a lot of fillings. Iv had one so far but I’m absolutely terrified of the dentist! I desperately need braces too!

How many do you have?

I had four, my dental hygiene was awful as a kid. I’m 26

Would love to have them changed for white fillings but currently doing Invisalign and loving it !!

  1. Age 45.
AnneLovesGilbert · 17/05/2019 18:03

None. 30s.

BlueCornishPixie · 17/05/2019 18:05

I have none but I'm only 23! If you have only one so far and have been going since 18 why would you need lots?

Not going to the dentist as a child would be irrelevant to you developing decay now, honestly almost all fillings are preventable. There's absolutely no reason you will develop decay if you are taking care of your teeth now!

legolimb · 17/05/2019 18:05

Five. All of which were done at the age of 11/12. Surprising thinking back as we regularly visited the dentist.
Ah well, still have just those. Although I did get them replaced with white fillings. Still going strong 30+ years later.

We had fluoridated water when I was growing up so shouldn't have needed any fillings. I don't think any where has fluoride now which is a shame.

Don't worry about any work. You should not feel any pain. Most dentists nowadays are good at keeping patients relaxed too.

Good luck

None and I’m 34 and I don’t know how because I very rarely went to the dentist as a child.i only started going regularly as an adult😬

Seniorschoolmum · 17/05/2019 18:07
  1. 3 fillings but I had my wisdom teeth removed.
EllebellyBeeblebrox · 17/05/2019 18:07

I had one until it fell out, the tooth cracked and I was in agony. They pulled the fecker out and I could have kissed the dentist. Now I have no fillings but I'm down one tooth WinkI'm 34 but had a period of time with very poor mental health and didn't look after myself very well, ie tooth brushing wasn't a priority Blush

Buscake · 17/05/2019 18:07

Just got my first one a few months ago. I’m 33

AnyoldAnna · 17/05/2019 18:09

I have been regularly to the dentist all my life but I have loads of fillings and crowns, my teeth are just crap. If I won the lottery they are the first thing I would fix

Sarahlou63 · 17/05/2019 18:12

2 and wisdom teeth out. 55.

theorchidwhisperer · 17/05/2019 18:12

I had all mine (about 7) from appalling overcrowded teeth as my adult teeth grew into my small jaw. But non at all since orthodontic work at 14.

I'm 50. I spent the last 36 years having the amalgam fillings replaced with white ones as they wore out. Still one to go, I had a good dentist in the 1980's. He said his fillings would last!

KnittingForMittens · 17/05/2019 18:13

1 small filling I had done when I was 16. I'm 26 now.

Drogonssmile · 17/05/2019 18:14

None. I'm 37 my grandfather was a dentist and I was given fluoride tablets as a child ShockConfused didn't seem to do any harm though.

My teeth are extremely healthy and I've never had any problems with them. They're also quite straight naturally so I'm very lucky I think.

DameSylvieKrin · 17/05/2019 18:15

None and I‘m 39. I didn’t go for 8 years once but it didn’t do any harm.

WeepingWillowWeepingWino · 17/05/2019 18:16

Too many and as they're quite old mercury fillings they are starting to come to pieces so I've had an extraction and a root canal.

I'm 47. And my mum was a dentist!

Andonandonan · 17/05/2019 18:16

None. Mid 30s.

MsMarvellous · 17/05/2019 18:17
