Earl Grey tea is repulsive and tastes like floor wax.

Chips with Chinese food is disgusting.

The smell of ketchup makes me sick.

I prefer pizza without meat yet I love meat.

Goats milk tastes like Satan's arsehole.

Oysters are not a delicacy - they taste like seawater flavoured snot.

if it’s shop bought I agree. Homemade pesto is delicious though
True. I thought I hated it until I had homemade.

Jsmith99 · 09/05/2019 20:37

Low-fat spreads manufactured in factories from stabilisers, flavourings, emulsifiers, colourings and preservatives are NOT healthier than butter made from churned cream.

Mother87 · 09/05/2019 20:37

Drogosnextwife - poor TerryGrinGrin

Moominfan · 09/05/2019 20:38

Chippy is the worst takeaway. My heart sinks whenever I have to have it. Waste of calories

Moominfan · 09/05/2019 20:40

Pub curries are awful

HeronLanyon · 09/05/2019 20:41

Didn’t know this was that controversial until this thread - I LOVE goats’ cheese of all sorts. Including grilled on a salad, spread on a hard cracker, with a grape or two. Mmmm.

mommybunny · 09/05/2019 20:42

Any eggs other than scrambled or omelette are disgusting - I will cook them for family but refuse them if cooked for me

Ketchup and mustard spoil burgers, hot dogs, chips and anything else they come in contact with so badly that even if I accidentally get a little on my hands my meal is ruined and I’m inconsolable, no matter how hard I scrub (goes without saying that any food they have touched is destined for the incinerator)

Ditto gherkins/dill pickles (are you guessing I had, or rather didn’t have, a lot of McDonalds growing up?)

Peanut butter and almost anything (except actual butter - wtf is that all about?) is divine

TrendyNorthLondonTeen · 09/05/2019 20:42

Italian food is wildly over rated.

MitziK · 09/05/2019 20:42

Chocolate is the Wonderbra of Food. Looks good on the outside, but get the wrapper off and it's all a bit of a let down.

There is nothing wrong with putting pineapple on a pizza. Mainly because it hides the taste of the meat.

Pizza is better without tomato sauce and thin and crispy are revolting.

Basil tastes like cleaning fluid.

Pork scratchings are awesome.

Cake and biscuits are overrated and best avoided.

Fried chicken/chicken in breadcrumbs is a waste of chicken. And breadcrumbs.

Meat is boring and anybody can cook it. The test of a chef is being able to create a great meal without it.

Goats' Milk and cheese taste how a goat smells but that's why I like it.

formerbabe · 09/05/2019 20:43

Traditional pie and mash is vile.

Moominfan · 09/05/2019 20:43

Fudge you are spot on, nothing can top ambrosia why create more cleaning, just crack open a tin

iklboo · 09/05/2019 20:43

Nutella is the devil's diarrhoea

YouCantBeSirius · 09/05/2019 20:44

Marmite is foul

bamboofibre · 09/05/2019 20:45

Earl Grey tea is rank

So is: gin, mayo in a jar, broccoli and cauliflower, sushi, fruit on pizza or in savoury dishes and artificial sweeteners.

Avocado, okra and mango in the UK taste vile because they're all old when they get here.

Fish pie is vom-inducing.

I'd rather eat my own vom than eat offal.

Sweetcorn does not belong in tuna or on pizzas.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 09/05/2019 20:47

Truffle sucks
Caviar sucks
Saffron doesn’t taste of anything
Buffalo mozzarella tastes like feet

Nononononono33 · 09/05/2019 20:48

Agree chips only ever need mayo and carrots should never go near cake. I hate ketchup and love proper chunky pork scratchings!

wafflyversatile · 09/05/2019 20:48

What's the point of cottage pie? Cook mince and onions. Cook tatties. You're done. Why wait longer? Just eat it.

Cue someone saying for that nasty dry skin on the mashed tattie topping. No thanks.

Summersunshine2 · 09/05/2019 20:50

Non brewed vinegar is so much nicer than malt vinegar.

Graphista · 09/05/2019 20:51

"Garlic bread is better without cheese.
Chocolate ice cream is revolting."

Totally with you on these.

I love early grey tea though.

Mine:

Love pineapple on pizza
I'm veggie now but even when I wasn't I never liked bacon, overly salty, fatty, gristle yuk!
I also never liked jelly (which as a 70's kid meant most birthday parties were a nightmare!)
I LOVE mushrooms I can happily eat them raw straight from the punnet and finish the whole lot!
I hate sprouts - no I don't care what your "magical way to cook sprouts so even haterz like em" is I've never liked them I'm never going to
Gin smells and tastes like disinfectant

"There is no such thing as too much garlic." Hear hear!

"Jelly - the spunk of Satan" perfectly put!

"Undercooked eggs with snotty white are disgusting." Yep! We have a local place on "just eat" that does cooked breakfasts that a hungover dd will occasionally persuade me to order from, most of the time the food is spot on but once the fried eggs were only cooked around the edges! The "inner" white and yolk were barely warm - bleurgh!

"Carbs are not evil." This! Every time I see a thread on mn about cutting out food groups (usually carbs) I cringe. It's faddy and unhealthy, we have the different food groups for a reason we're meant to eat a wide variety of foods to maximise health & nutrition. Sorry real bugbear of mine

"People who talk about gagging and retching in relation to foods that other people clearly enjoy are twats." Yes! Fine here to discuss our disgust but everyone has different likes and dislikes and it's rude to criticise people for simply liking something you don't. However as a veggie who's ex had some pretty obnoxious friends pushing disliked food unwelcome into a persons vicinity is also a shitty thing to do.

MrsOaf · 09/05/2019 20:52

Coffee should be strong and black, this trend for latte and (shudders) flavoured latte needs to be stopped Shock

Ice cream, cream, cheesecake, trifle, gateaux, anything ‘sticky toffee’ or ‘salted caramel’ has no place on the menu!

As for the people who don’t like seafood and Italian food... their names have been added to my ‘not to be trusted’ spreadsheet Grin

booksandcaffeine · 09/05/2019 20:54

Tinned custard and rice pudding tastes nicer than homemade versions... They're alright cold too.

McDonald's isn't that bad (I mean it's not healthy for you) as people make out.

isseywithcats · 09/05/2019 20:54

bananas are yuk the slimey bit in the centre of them but banana flavoured toffee is ok
mussels are just bogies in a shell
peanut butter is vile oily and sticks to your teeth but peanuts are fine
granary bread is nicer than white bread
carnation and lemon meringue pie is heaven togehter
