Some of mine.

Raisins(And walnuts) ruin everything.
A really good burger is nicer than steak.
Garlic bread is better without cheese.
Chocolate ice cream is revolting.
Earl Grey tea is awful.
Yorkshire tea is disgusting.
Vegetables are nicer than fruit.
Alcohol ruins desserts.

Bluntness100 · 09/05/2019 21:37

I don't like cake. I find it dull.
I also find crisps a bit dull and don't really have any desire to eat them.
And I'm not a huge fan of bread either. Unless it's toast or garlic bread then I'm all Over it.
I dislike Yorkshire puddings and can't see the point.
I can't stand fruit in anything savoury, it's wrong on so many levels.
I also don't really like fruit to be fair.
I don't like any cereals and would never chose them.
I hate milk and drink my tea and coffee black. And likely one of the reasons I don't like cereals.

Chocolate is the food of the gods though. And I love goats cheese. And gravy....and cheese on my garlic bread.

SmellNO · 09/05/2019 21:37

All seafood is utterly vomit inducing.

Chips and chicken nuggets are 100% dippable in the milkshake of your choice (McDonalds only.)

Mayonnaise should be outlawed.

Asda makes Egg Fried Rice better than any takeaway I've ever tried.

Salting food before tasting it isn't rude. I know how I like my food to taste - it's nothing to do with the cooking, it's my personal taste.

NaturalBornWoman · 09/05/2019 21:38

Eggs and beans should never be on the same plate. Tomato ketchup is horrible, it looks revolting and stinks and I cannot sit at the same table if someone is eating it.

*Quiche is Satan’s congealed vomit
*Poached eggs should be cooked until they could be used as weapons (prepared to be flamed on this)
*There should not be A SINGLE RUNNY MOLECULE in a cooked egg EVER
*Pretty much any food is improved by the addiction of chillis
*Cottage cheese is made from smegma - trufact
*Shito sauce is the greatest condiment ever invented
*Cucumbers are pointless
*In an obesogenic society I can’t believe you can buy breakfast cereals like Krave and one made by Lion Bar although the second one sounds amazing and I dare not buy it
*Mellow Birds coffee is lush
*Earl Grey tea is even better

janeybumtum · 09/05/2019 21:43

I agree with your food opinions OP!

I also can't stand sweet and sour, fruit in savoury food, pineapple on pizza, peanut butter. I don't like leaves in salad either

LadyGAgain · 09/05/2019 21:48

Fresh strawberries are absolutely grim
McDonald's fries dipped in banana milkshake is amazing

CakeNinja · 09/05/2019 21:48

Controversial because people will think that I’m basing poor people. I don’t think I am.
But... if you can’t afford to eat quality welfare meat, I don’t think you should eat it or feed it to your families!
Even buying less of it and stretching it out for more meals is better for you than eating chemically pumped watery ill kept and poorly looked after animals.
I’m a meat lover, I don’t like animals other than for their taste but I hate that you can buy a packet of mince for about £2 in a supermarket - that animal must have led a really shitty life for a piece of it to be sold off that cheaply, plus it will be full of crap.

daisychain01 · 09/05/2019 21:48

Bananas have a very defined period of about 12 hours when they are delicious, especially in a sandwich with Philly cheese and ginger marmalade.

All other times, they are disgusting (esp when getting speckly from the sugar content, and when they're green urgh)

Chickenwing · 09/05/2019 21:51

McDonalds breakfast is awful.

TrendyNorthLondonTeen · 09/05/2019 21:53

Who are all these people ruining chips with the slimy white muck that is mayonnaise?

Mississippilessly · 09/05/2019 21:54

Traybakes are superior to cake.

Diemme · 09/05/2019 22:00

Bananas are disgusting.
Plain yoghurt is really really disgusting.
Salted caramel is ridiculous.
Cooking from scratch, unless you enjoy it, is completely unnecessary.

serialtester · 09/05/2019 22:00

Pulled pork is shit.

disneyspendingmoney · 09/05/2019 22:03

I like
English mustard on bagels
peanut cookies dipped in hot chilli oil
Tom Ka Kai paste on ryvita
a lot of salt and pepper on toast
Cashew nut butter and honey froyo
Aubergine fried in Almond butter
Eating all the shrimp including the crunchy heads and tails

Mominatrix · 09/05/2019 22:05

Agree with everything bibbity wrote except about cooking being a chore.

People who drastically restrict carbs long term as a lifestyle choice are negatively affecting their gut micro flora and will have health issues in the future.

floraloctopus · 09/05/2019 22:06

Octopus is foul and never meant to be eaten, not that I've ever tasted it.
DItto picalilly, beetroot, oysters, kidneys, liver etc.
Ox tongue - why would you?

I think the best diet is the hungry caterpillar one. In moderation.

LGFuad · 09/05/2019 22:15

Black pudding (and/or haggis if you are far enough north) are the best parts of a cooked breakfast.

In fact, I think I would put black pudding in my top five foods

JoshLymanIsHotterThanSam · 09/05/2019 22:16

Pineapple and tuna on a pizza is awesome.

Chocolate flavoured anything is only fit for the bin.

Coffee cake is the best kind of cake.

Avocado is amazing with a bit of garlic salt-I genuinely love the taste of avocado.

Any sort of sauce ruins a bacon sarnie.

Baked beans are vile.

MyGastIsFlabbered · 09/05/2019 22:20

Parsley ruins anything

Crunchymum · 09/05/2019 22:21

almost all ice cream is horrible

  • barring the pistachio and rose ice cream I had from a little gelato place in Rome..... I had a lick if DP's not a euphemism Grin and we had to go back to the same gelato store twice a day for our whole trip so I could indulge.

I don't like:

  • any fruit in desserts (texture of cooked fruit is horrible)
  • most fruit in general (I only eat strawberries, apples, pomegranate seeds and kiwis)
  • sushi (love a good Katsu curry though. Can't abide Miso soup either!)
  • soup (any kind Shock)
  • cereal (mainly as I don't like milk)
  • porridge (texture)
  • milk
  • cooked peppers (love them raw, even green)
  • tomatoes (I use passata for cooking and I adore raw tomato abroad)
  • toast (bores me but a nice bread with butter is fair game)
  • coffee (vile, apart from very few independent coffee shops and when in Italy!!)
  • avocado (texture of lipstick, love Guacamole though)
  • mash potatoes
  • aniseed / star anise
  • all seafood and most fish
  • ham

Wow, I think I could be here all night if I carried on Shock

Despite my fussiness, when I'm mindful, I eat really healthily.

Hadenoughofitall441 · 09/05/2019 22:30

Avocado is disgusting
Pineapple is disgusting...
Cucumber tastes like mud and water....

Walnutwhipster · 09/05/2019 22:42

Don't mix fruit and meat.
Alcohol does not belong in any dish.

MissClareRemembers · 09/05/2019 23:03

Cheesecake is horrid. The very idea of the Cheesecake Factory restaurants make me heave.
Mussels. Urgh. DH and DCs love them but I can’t even be in the same room when they eat the vile, slimy slug-like filth.
Red wine. Love the idea of it but the reality is vinegar in a nice glass followed by a migraine.

Reasonstobeearful · 09/05/2019 23:08

Cheese goes with everything. Not necessarily cheddar, and not necessarily raw, but some kind of cheese goes with every other food.

Reasonstobeearful · 09/05/2019 23:09

Bubble tea is fucking rank.
