Great pics of him, Meghan looks radiant as usual.

I know it’s kindly meant but the PP saying she looks “sore” is vulgar. Can we please not speculate on the state of her private parts? Confused

QueenOfIce · 08/05/2019 13:19

Why didn't they just say, congratulations, thank you so much for being here so soon after his birth. Allow them to stand for a few photos and leave.

Even better just release a photo. I'm not a Megan fan but I really felt for her she looked uncomfortable and nervous. Last thing she needed to be doing was photos for the public. Do we all even care if he's not seen for a few weeks?!

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 08/05/2019 13:19

Agree the journos are limited to what they can ask but "Is he a good baby" is possibly in the top three of Most Stupid Questions to ask new parents. So they could probably skip that one.

notsodimwit · 08/05/2019 13:19

Beautiful baby..beautiful little family..poor meghan looked worn out! she should be resting and taking it easy!

BrieAndChilli · 08/05/2019 13:22

i thought it was nice to see her behaving normally like all other new months, she seemed very nervous but happy- not knowing where to put her hands, wanting to touch the baby etc, very different to how she normally comes across - cool and aloof and in control,

Moodyfoodie · 08/05/2019 13:23

I thought she looked beautiful and emotional and very natural. And I bet she can't wait to get home, put her joggers on and get back on the sofa. Hopefully this will.shut up any inane surrogate comments - this was clearly a woman who has been through childbirth!!

higgyhog · 08/05/2019 13:24

Bearing in mind she had indicated she wouldn't be doing the smart dress and heels thing I was a bit surprised she came out in the white dress and those shoes. She would have been far more comfortable in something more "leisurewear"

ThisIsTheEndgame · 08/05/2019 13:24

She does look sore. It's not vulgar to acknowledge that pregnancy and childbirth can leave you feeling sore. Nobody speculated on her private parts. All sorts of things are sore after babies come out. Hips, pelvis, feet, boobs. Or we can pretend that babies come from the stork tied in a bow Hmm

formerbabe · 08/05/2019 13:25

Poor woman looked exhausted, sore and scared

She didn't. I thought she looked radiant.

Baby is adorable.

I predict he'll be called Frederick...known as Freddie.

ThisIsTheEndgame · 08/05/2019 13:25

If they had just released a photo all the weirdos would claim it wasn't their baby.

JudgeRindersMinder · 08/05/2019 13:26

I was hoping that she didn’t have miles of corridor to walk behind the door they came through! Lovely to see them looking so happy.
Now can everyone lay off them now!

LillianGish · 08/05/2019 13:26

Arguably worse than what Kate did because she had the comfort of getting hair & makeup done in her hospital room, then just posed quickly on the way of the hospital and was on her way home. It was her choice - and also presumably her choice to squeeze her feet into those supremely comfortable looking shoes. I thought they both looked really happy and excited. Meghan looked lovely. They are like any proud parents - thrilled to show off their new baby. Not everyone has a nightmare birth. Not really sure what all the fuss was beforehand - in fact they've done what all the royals do - a quick photo call and they will announce the name when they have told the Queen.

JaneEyre07 · 08/05/2019 13:28

Considering how poised she normally is in front of the media, I think she looked uncomfortable and nervous. I don't think she did any of this "her way" as speculated. She looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights.

escapade1234 · 08/05/2019 13:29

We didn’t see Meghan at all in the last month of pregnancy did we? Judging by her postpartum tummy - kudos to her for not hiding it away - she must have been immense at the end. Which is hard to imagine!

formerbabe · 08/05/2019 13:29

she should be resting and taking it easy!

I'm sure she is...the whole thing took about four minutes. I doubt she's off to do a weekly shop after it or stick on a load of laundry afterwards.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 08/05/2019 13:30

mimibunz maybe I put it badly, but I honestly wasn't referring to "private parts" or anything like it ... to most of the folk I know, sore simply means any kind of aches, pains or general bleurgh-ness

Just wanted to clarify Smile

DocMarteens · 08/05/2019 13:30

They are a very good looking family unit but Meghan looked anxious and I can't help but think this way of doing it was much harder than Kate's way. The way she was constantly looking down was strange. Was it for the photos? Is this how it should be done? Maybe I was more disconnected as a new mum...

How tough to do a photo shoot 2 days later and what a formal dress to choose. I think she's so keen on doing it a different way that she's making life difficult for herself. At my day 2 the baby blues had hit and I cried at a door opening!

Hope she can get back to her cottage and take it easy now. Though I think she'll find it hard to slow down the pace and might feel penned in because she was home bound for weeks before the baby came along.

MindyStClaire · 08/05/2019 13:32

I'm sure she is...the whole thing took about four minutes. I doubt she's off to do a weekly shop after it or stick on a load of laundry afterwards.

No, she's off to meet the Queen, which I'm sure is a completely relaxed, informal experience.

NameChangeSameRage · 08/05/2019 13:32

Better to ask "is he a good baby?" than "Hows your fanny bearing up?" I suppose.

NoSauce · 08/05/2019 13:32

I though MM looked lovely, really happy and relaxed. Wish them all well.

Springwalk · 08/05/2019 13:34

I felt for Megan too, she looked really scared, an not really ready for any of it. Shell shocked is the word I am looking for, and what first time parent hasn't felt that. I could not have done it, I am sure she is relieved it is over.

I think a more informal press conference would have made it easier for her. Perhaps wearing something lose with a pashmina, sitting down somewhere comfortable with the baby in her arms, Harry in an open necked shirt. That kind of thing. It did look terribly formal, and hard to see how she would have ever felt ready for that so soon.

The baby was just absolutely beautiful in every way.

Welcome to the world baby sussex! Bear

64sNewName · 08/05/2019 13:34

That baby is so, so, SO sweet.

profumoaffair · 08/05/2019 13:34

Unusual choice of outfit IMO

Birdie6 · 08/05/2019 13:35

she should be resting and taking it easy

Unlike the rest of us who go home to other children and housework !

MarshaBradyo · 08/05/2019 13:36

I like that Harry looks after her a bit in front of the press - takes the heat off questions
