Great pics of him, Meghan looks radiant as usual.

Oh no! Cry me a river! Poor thing! She’ll have to knit a cardi and pop a corgi on her lap.

TigerTooth · 09/05/2019 21:32

I thought the family photo (With the Queen, Prince Philip and Doria) was really lonely. Such a warm and cosy scene

Freudian slip! Very lonely for Doria - she looked so lonely at the wedding - is there not a friend? A sister? A distant cousin twice removed?

Ninkaninus · 09/05/2019 21:35

Heh it was this stupid Mumsnet autocorrect actually. But I don’t think Doria would have been lonely - her daughter’s right there! I wouldn’t have been lonely. I wouldn’t need a man or a friend or a family member along to enjoy my daughter’s company and my new little grandchild.

Timeistickingaway · 09/05/2019 22:03

I don't think she's lonely at all. I think she's a very self sufficient and confident woman.

JustOneShadeOfGrey · 09/05/2019 23:45

I think they now realise the “traditional” way is best - quick smile on the steps, no talking, into the car and into the dressing gown for a few weeks.

escapade1234 · 10/05/2019 00:22

It wasn’t a corridor - it was a huge, grand, showy room - staged just to make sure we remember how ‘special’ they are

Agreed. Completely bizarre photocall. That long walk towards the camera, in a bloody CASTLE, dressed for a cocktail party. Why not just release some nice photos of the three of them in soft focus on a sofa inside their home? Head and shoulder shots of H&M, cooing over the baby - baby’s face visible. Job done.

Nobody expected what they did, nor demanded it. They chose that. But bless her, so vulnerable and nervous and unsure of herself. Don’t make me laugh.

They’re going to do things differently? Are they kidding us? It’s a ramped up version of royalty with all the stops pulled out.

CountryGirl1234 · 10/05/2019 08:17

Aww well they looked so happy. I would have been nervous and very protective showing my little one off too.
Megan looked beautiful as always and I felt for her having to carry out these obligations so soon after birth. Harry looked so chuffed how incredible thes early moments are. Megan is usually so confident, it’s such a tricky time I do hope she at least doesn’t feel under scrutiny. She is after all a mother and not a vessel.
Good luck to them and to little Archie. Flowers

Timeistickingaway · 10/05/2019 08:37

I do think the whole thing was misjudged. However Harry’s beaming joy and pride was so lovely to see.

LillianGish · 13/05/2019 09:41

I just wanted to congratulate whoever it was on here who predicted Harry and Meghan would be releasing a photo of some feet - spot on Grin

higgyhog · 13/05/2019 09:41

I actually had a look at the old press photos of Princess Diana when she came out of hospital with William and Harry. her hair and make up were nicely done but she wore a maternity dress and flat shoes ( may even have been the same pair, red with a bow) She didn't look as if she was trying to put on an act, just suitably attired to go home. At least having shown the baby to the public she was free to go home and have some peace and quiet. It is Kate who has worn heels, and maybe she is someone who feels more confident that way.
