Great pics of him, Meghan looks radiant as usual.

She looks amazing for someone with a 2 day old baby! She did look like she wanted to be holding the baby but also didn’t look too comfortable with those heels so didn’t want to combine the two!!

Now they’re off to see the Queen. I assume the baby’s name will be announced once she has agreed it.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 08/05/2019 13:04

Awww how lovely. Agree they were both dying to get that over with so they could have some cuddles by themselves. Yes, the hand gestures! She was so touchy feely with both of them, very sweet. Love the comment about the facial hair too! Did you notice the moment when a pap said something about a closer look all they did was move his little hat a tiny bit? Like Mama and Papa lion protecting him from vultures.

Whilst I'm quite indifferent about the royals I will say that having watched Harry and William grow up so quickly and publicly after losing their mother, seeing them holding their first baby makes me a bit teary eyed Smile.

I've so got a thing for Harry. Aware that could be slightly inappropriate on thread about new parents Grin

PianoTuner567 · 08/05/2019 13:05

Bless her, can’t imagine having to get through that two days post-partum.

Ninkaninus · 08/05/2019 13:05

Oh also, I thought she looked beautiful and radiant, too. Not that there was any obligation to do so, as far as I’m concerned!

ThisIsTheEndgame · 08/05/2019 13:06

Not everyone bleeds that heavily after birth. I wore a Jersey dress with thick navy and white stripes when DD was a few days old and we had loads of visitors. I wasn't worried about leaks.

BooksAreMyOnlyFriends · 08/05/2019 13:06

'Is he a good baby?' Why do people ask that? They're not likely to answer 'No, actually he's a little shit' Hmm

ah well. They look happy. Those first days are very precious. Hopefully they'll be left alone now.

MarshaBradyo · 08/05/2019 13:06

Ah she looked a bit nervous and v sweet

Must be intense with the cameras clicking away

HelpAFattieOutHere · 08/05/2019 13:08

BooksAreMyOnlyFriends it's a polite talking point. Can't exactly ask Meghan if she's had her first poo yet can they

clandestinenetwork · 08/05/2019 13:09

The questions were utterly cringeworthy.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 08/05/2019 13:09

Books Grin.**

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 08/05/2019 13:09

I felt really sorry for her, she looked so vulnerable.
The bloody questions the journalists ask though..ffsHmm

Pomfluff · 08/05/2019 13:09

Meghan looked like she couldn’t wait to leave at the very end, and I totally sympathise! She was probably anxious that the baby might start crying, or just wasn’t ready to parade him around.

Assuming she may be breastfeeding, those few hours out of the house with a 3 day old must be really stressful. Arguably worse than what Kate did because she had the comfort of getting hair & makeup done in her hospital room, then just posed quickly on the way of the hospital and was on her way home.

DramaRamaLlama · 08/05/2019 13:10

I like that she didn't feel need to try and disguise her pp figure.

ThanksItHasPockets · 08/05/2019 13:11

'Is he a good baby?' Why do people ask that? They're not likely to answer 'No, actually he's a little shit'

Well, what else are they meant to ask? 'Has your milk come in, Meghan? Any tearing?'

QueenOfIce · 08/05/2019 13:11

That was so awkward, fancy asking if your 2 day old is a good baby? The person asking the questions was an absolute knob. Not a clue.

Why they 'had' to show off the baby so soon and not just release a family photo as and when is beyond me. We don't have a right to their private life.

Let the poor buggers be and enjoy the newness.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 08/05/2019 13:11

Lovely images Smile

Surprised to see folk saying Meghan looked uncomfortable though; no doubt she's sore, but I thought she looked pretty darned good on the whole - and Harry looks as if he's just been given the world

PianoTuner567 · 08/05/2019 13:12

What questions can the journo reasonably ask though?!

Quite hard to think of questions that aren’t personal or invasive.

JacquesHammer · 08/05/2019 13:13

I like that she didn't feel need to try and disguise her pp figure

I thought the same.

I’m also convinced she had a pair of slippers stashed just around the door Smile

MarshaBradyo · 08/05/2019 13:13

There’s not much to ask and really the press just want that shot of his little face, so they’ll have to wait

escapade1234 · 08/05/2019 13:13

Of course the questions are inane. What else could the reporter ask? Did you have an epidural? How’re the pains? Are you breastfeeding?

I honestly don’t know why they did it this way. More of an ordeal than how Kate and William did it. Kate had to leave the hospital anyway so a quick wave and a couple of comments in passing not too troubling then home with no more interruptions.

This way, she had to get out of bed, dress up and present the child when she’s just starting to figure feeding and sleeping etc out and could do either being left alone.

They could have just released some photos.

justasking111 · 08/05/2019 13:14

I`m with Queen, two days later I was an exhausted mess. Visiting a mum five days post baby yesterday, she was no better. Your body has been through so much when it already worn down by nine months of pregnancy.

downcasteyes · 08/05/2019 13:14

I imagine that it is incredibly difficult, if you are used to the intense scrutiny of the Hollywood system, to appear in public when you are not totally worked out and in tiptop shape. Don't many actresses fake the date of the birth, so that they can lose weight and heal before they have to appear in public? The pressure and the scrutiny are insane - it's simply not fair that women should be subjected to that level of comment and criticism.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 08/05/2019 13:16

Bet they're wishing they'd done a Kate and William photo call now. Far less on the spot interaction.

ThisIsTheEndgame · 08/05/2019 13:16

Well if she had planned a home birth then she wouldn't have expected to be available for a steps shot. The mini press conference probably seemed like a good idea at the time, before the reality of those first few days post partum kicked in.

reetgood · 08/05/2019 13:18

Really? I can't believe I'm commenting on a Royal baby thread, but I thought they both looked like thrilled new parents. It actually made me smile. I mean it's clearly a chore to be doing the press but my impression was that even that couldn't dampen their spirits!
