I go years in between getting any stomach bugs.

MontStMichel · 27/04/2019 18:53

Last time we all got the norovirus, after DH had 2 Colchester oysters was 10 years ago! DH had a bit of nausea for the day, after eating oysters in Devon the same year. Nothing since in the D & V dept!

I've had a stomach bug about 3 times in my life (I'm 52).

greensnail · 27/04/2019 18:55

I've not had one for years.

PolarBearBubbles · 27/04/2019 18:55

Normally 0, very occasionally 1.

NannyR · 27/04/2019 18:56

Six years ago.

AntennaReborn · 27/04/2019 18:57

I have only had 4 in my life and I am 40.
The last one was about 4 years ago

BedraggledBlitz · 27/04/2019 18:57

Maybe once a year since DS came along. Prior to that I dont remember getting any.

wendz86 · 27/04/2019 18:58

Once every couple of years .

Usuallyinthemiddle · 27/04/2019 18:58

Twice in my life. I'm 41

Brakebackcyclebot · 27/04/2019 18:58

I think I've had 2 or 3 in my entire life.

bagpiss · 27/04/2019 19:00

I had one cold last year, Can't remember the last time I had any of the other things. At a guess maybe 6/7 yrs ago a the last stomach bug.

DramaAlpaca · 27/04/2019 19:01

Hardly ever in the last 20 years. When my DC were at nursery & just starting school they'd get loads as children do, and I'd sometimes pick them up too.

MariaNovella · 27/04/2019 19:02

Some years 6 or 7, some years none. I am definitely susceptible - my family never gets stomach bugs!

PuppyMonkey · 27/04/2019 19:03

Last one in our house was the Christmas of 2007.

Christmas was definitely cancelled that year. Grin

DD has had a few sickness bouts since but not anything she’s passed on so...

madeyemoodysmum · 27/04/2019 19:04

Rarely a vomiting one. Maybe every 5 years or more

I get tummy poo issues every 3/4 months from irritable bowel though.

BringOnTheScience · 27/04/2019 19:06

About 3 times in my adult life, including when DCs brought bugs home from school.

Cook properly. Clean sensibly. Scrupulous hygiene if someone is ill to stop it spreading.

CloudRusting · 27/04/2019 19:06

I get norovirus about once every 12-18 months. Apparently it is genetic as to whether you have general immunity to the virus which may explain why I get it but my husband and children don’t.

Plus the immunity period post norovirus is only something like four months. Angry

FurrySlipperBoots · 27/04/2019 19:06

I'm on my third virus of 2019 at the moment. I eat a healthy diet, get fresh air and exercise every day, use echinacea and first defense spray, try 'old wives' preventatives such as using lots of garlic, am careful to wash my hands at the right times without being obsessive and have a dog (supposedly good for the immune system). I think I'm just very unlucky.

Mumof1andacat · 27/04/2019 19:06

I last had one 7 years and dh had one 6 years ago. Ds is 6 yrs old and had never had one (touch wood!)

soulrider · 27/04/2019 19:07

Two in my lifetime, I'm 39

isabellerossignol · 27/04/2019 19:07

A d&v type virus, maybe once every five years?

Bortusesmoustache · 27/04/2019 19:08

I normally get at least one a year. I went through a spell a couple of years back where I got one every couple of months, which was bloody miserable. Youngest son is also susceptible, husband and eldest son literally never get them.

skankingpiglet · 27/04/2019 19:09

I had norovirus about 7 years ago. That was awful.
I might get a little bit of a dicky tummy (mild shits, probably caused by eating something iffy) a couple of times a year, but it's not bad enough to stop me going about my daily life.
