Well lwe go to Wales, Aberdovey is lovely as was Harlech. Did Colwyn Bay last year, up to Ros on Sea and that was nice. School do Llandudno each year to the beach so assume that one is decent too

BarbieJellyBabyBrain · 15/04/2019 11:22

Woolacombe and also any beach around it basically.

Camber Sands (underrated IMO).

We like Wembury and Blackpool Sands, both in S Devon.

Didiusfalco · 15/04/2019 11:25

I love compton bay on IOW and Sandsend in North Yorkshire. But to be honest I’ve been to loads of lovely beaches in this country so my definition of ‘shit’ might be different.

tisonlymeagain · 15/04/2019 11:25

Knoll Beach at Studland, Sandbanks at Poole, Watergate Bay in Cornwall, Porthmeor Beach at Ives.

anitagreen · 15/04/2019 11:26

Camber sands

grafittiartist · 15/04/2019 11:27

Spurn Point

MinnieMountain · 15/04/2019 11:27

Describe your ideal beach. I'm sure someone can tell you where it is.

TeddyIsaHe · 15/04/2019 11:29

Holkham beach is definitely the best!

Pieceofpurplesky · 15/04/2019 11:30

Tenby

Pieceofpurplesky · 15/04/2019 11:30

Or any on Guernsey

storynanny · 15/04/2019 11:32

Croyde Bay North Devon, beautiful rock pools for children, sand dunes to roll down, waves for surfing, oh I want to go there now!
Not many facilities, basic toilets, cafe, equipment hire, lifeguards, no amusements etc.

FairNotFair · 15/04/2019 11:32

Bamburgh or Newton Links. Golden sand, wonderful rock pools and castles.

FairNotFair · 15/04/2019 11:33
  • in Northumberland
suchasoftersin · 15/04/2019 11:34

Tenby. It's beautiful

SwiftAnchor · 15/04/2019 11:35

The Scottish islands have some of the most amazing white sand beaches and clear water.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 15/04/2019 11:35

Go north. Northumberland, Scotland, the Isles. Actually, don't, the best thing is the lack of people.

Palominoo · 15/04/2019 11:35

Whiteford sands. No direct access by car so it’s vwry quiet.

I’ve spent the whole day there many times with no other person in sight or just a speck in the distance.

I can’t swim and although there is a sudden treacherous drop to be aware of, you can paddle out for ages and the water is clear.

gamerwidow · 15/04/2019 11:35

Another one for camber sands. Beautiful sandy beach and dunes.

Palominoo · 15/04/2019 11:37

Having all that to mysel - heaven.

What's the best beach in the UK?
Palominoo · 15/04/2019 11:38

For a touristy beach with chip shop and ice cream shop then Port Eynon/Horton Bay is lovely. My dogs love the sand dunes and one of the two chip shops caters for vegetarians and vegans and is lovely.

Ohyesiam · 15/04/2019 11:44

Barrafundle
Yes!
Depends on what you want from a beach. I like a Celtic bay with cliffs and rock pools ( and no one else thereWink) so woolacombe and Camber don’t do it for me, though they are both massive and stunning.

What sort of beach do you like op?

ilovepixie · 15/04/2019 11:46

Portrush white rocks or portstewart strand.

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 15/04/2019 11:48

Montrose area - lunan bay maybe.
Agates.
Caves.
Lovely sand.
Good wildlife - puffins etc.
