Just reading the Diana thread

Who is your celebrity that you will mourn..

Mine is Meat Loaf, Paul Weller and Bob Dylan

I will genuinely cry when they die.

Yes it will be really strange to have a king for the rest of my life when the queen dies.

ssd · 14/04/2019 22:24

Nope, no one at all.
I'm a hard bugger.

TrixieFranklin · 14/04/2019 22:25

No one in the public eye that I can think of.

OldAndWornOut · 14/04/2019 22:25

I felt pretty sad when Freddie Mercury died, and just recently 'Keef' Flint.
I don't think i'll mourn anyone going though.

StealthPolarBear · 14/04/2019 22:25

I wonder how many people will be left who ever lived in England ruled by a king. A lot st the moment but going down all the time

FrustratedTeddyLamp · 14/04/2019 22:27

Nobody famous, i really dont understand that kind of grieving when the majority have had no actual communication with the person, but i also dont attach such strong feelings to music/ Tv/ film or that kind of thing.

Will be interesting when the queen dies when so many staunch "royalists" wont care or will even turn against the royal family when theres a king.

magimedi · 14/04/2019 22:27

Robert Vaughn.

I loved him as a pre-teen when he was in the Man from U.N.C.L.E.

And I loved him as an adult in Hustle.

Of those that are still with us:

Bob Dylan - as his music is the diary of a lot of my life.

Mick Jagger - because he is Mick & I am old enough to remember him young.

And, even as a true republican, The Queen.

She's been Queen all my life (am mid 60's) and it will be a great change when she goes.

Trooperslaneagain · 14/04/2019 22:28

John Peel

I had to leave work early. I was sobbing.

BunnyJumps · 14/04/2019 22:28

Jurgun Klopp

Sparklingbrook · 14/04/2019 22:29

Surprised by people saying the Queen.

Twolipstulips · 14/04/2019 22:30

I don’t particularly love celebrities, but some people were part lf my childhood, and still am. My dad is a massive Dylan fan, when he passes my madness will be more for my dad than me.

Meat loaf music was so much a part of my childhood, I will be so genuinely sad when he dies.

I was gutted by Alan Rickman. I will hide away for a few days and bawl my eyes out when David Jason goes.

AllTheWhoresOfMalta · 14/04/2019 22:32

Morrissey. Can’t believe he’s going to be 60 in a matter of weeks!

Lalalalalalalalaland · 14/04/2019 22:32

Definitely the queen. I cant see Charles, will or george doing it as well as her.

David attenborough - the voice of nature

Catchingbentcoppers · 14/04/2019 22:32

David Attenborough
The Queen
Peter Snow
Maggie Smith

DarkDarkNight · 14/04/2019 22:33

David Bowie and Elliott Smith really upset me, and Jeff Buckley and River Phoenix when I was younger.

Bob Dylan, I feel upset even thinking about it. His music has been a constant companion. He just looms large over everybody for me.

Wauden · 14/04/2019 22:34

It will be sad when the last of the Beatles goes.

Twolipstulips · 14/04/2019 22:34

‘Diary of my life’

This is what I feel about meat loaf, Bob Dylan and maybe some more.

Genuine feelings and connections about their music and times of my life.

Nobody specifically. But when celebs 5/10 years older than me start to die I'll feel very old (hoping it's not for a while - I'm only 29).

Like someone else, the Queen. Because she's been around so lingcod, it will feel like We are headed into a new era.

BarbieJellyBabyBrain · 14/04/2019 22:34

Yes it will be really strange to have a king for the rest of my life when the queen dies.

This is so true. She has always been there!

SwimmingKaren · 14/04/2019 22:35

I cried when Peaches Geldoff died which really surprised me as I’m not into celebrities and never really liked her, probably the opposite to be completely honest. It was just so sad and pointless. I had small boys at the time and the thought of them wondering where she was and her never coming back just really upset me.

JoeElliotsMullet · 14/04/2019 22:36

Freddie Mercury
Rik Mayall

And then...
David Attenborough
Michael Palin

VeronicaDinner · 14/04/2019 22:36

I'm dreading Joan Didion. She looks so frail.

Pumpkintopf · 14/04/2019 22:36

Bruce Springsteen

Also agree with the Beatles and the Queen.

RaffertyFair · 14/04/2019 22:38

I think perhaps people confusing emotions.

There are many well known people whose deaths have shocked and saddened me. But to me that's not grief because I didn't know them.
