Weird things your DH does (lighthearted!)

I love my DH dearly but sometimes I do shake my head a bit at things he does that I find completely baffling.

The most recent one I've found this week- he takes his wedding ring off to do a poo.

What odd but totally harmless things does your DH do? Grin

I'm reading these with tears of laughters, the crumpet monsters: just pack their bags; what kind of mothers raised them 🙄😂

TSSDNCOP · 07/04/2019 12:00

Unicorn mine does that too. Guests know to hold on tight to gifts they open or clothes/shoes they tale off or they're put away.

Most annoying day was when he washed up 8 ramekins that I'd just spent 3 attempts making caramel for whilst I was making creme brûlée for a dinner.

bakewellpath · 07/04/2019 12:02

Where does he start when doing a jigsaw from the middle? Where does he start?! 😱

JaretsGirlfren · 07/04/2019 12:03

huggybear my DP too makes sheep noises, I wonder if they are related...

MadeForThis · 07/04/2019 12:10

DH always puts shoes on when he wakes up. Will not walk about in socks. Has learned to compromise with slippers.

He also takes the jam out of a jam donut. Won't eat it. But will happily put jam on toast.

wanderings · 07/04/2019 12:20

@bakewellpath Having turned all the pieces the right way up, he starts with any distinctive part of the jigsaw that has a lot of detail on it; for example a brightly coloured animal, where the pieces are easy to spot. He'll gather up all the pieces of that, put together as much as he can, then sift through the pieces for another distinctive area. He says that having done this, the rest of the jigsaw follows naturally, and there's more space for the dull parts such as the sky; and that the edges come naturally as you do it. He does make a pile for the four corners, though.

I don't agree with this approach at all. Angry If we do a jigsaw together, I immediately start on the edges, while he does his sorting and sifting. He doesn't mind, he says it's teamwork. Shock

You need to set up a challenge. Buy two of the same jigsaw, never done before by either of you. You do the traditional edge and corners first method, DH sorts and piles and willy nillies. Time yourselves.

Report back!

I really don't know why, but mine eats the paper case off muffins and cupcakes

littlemeitslyn · 07/04/2019 12:43

Donut jam is 🤢

Loyaultemelie · 07/04/2019 12:49

Puts milk in soup Envy

shakenfizzydrink · 07/04/2019 12:52

At least twice a day my dh will yell in a panic 'where's my phone? I've lost my phone!'
This can also be his wallet.
I used to get up to help look. Now I just sit there and do nothing, listening to him run around until I hear 'found it!'
He also does this while we're out in the car, even when his phone is right next to him in the console.

cloudymelonade · 07/04/2019 12:57

I love how nearly all of these are poo or food related 😂

Brightened up the day of a 38 weeks pregnant lady, thanks MNers!

AlrightBabby

Does he have pica? Google Xylophagia.

shakenfizzydrink · 07/04/2019 13:00

Butters the base of croissants, hot cross buns, scones etc instead of slicing them.

This is all kinds of wrong

AlrightBabby · 07/04/2019 13:42

@doctorsbag he's just informed me that he doesn't eat paper, he eats cake cases! Barking mad I tell ya!!

BricksInTheWall · 07/04/2019 13:43

Mine also manically laughs when he hears music he really likes. An example from this morning.. he is listening to Steve Hackets new album... bit of a song comes on that he loves... plays air guitar along and then doubles over manically laughing 😦

thenewaveragebear1983 · 07/04/2019 13:52

Mine also licks his finger and dabs bits of food crumbs off the table in restaurants boak. He does it even if a) there's no 100% guarantee it's our crumbs, b) he's just eaten a massive meal and c) in really posh places. He doesn't believe me that when he did this on our second date it was very nearly a deal breaker and the only reason I stayed was because it was raining and I didn't want to get wet walking home.

LegoCake · 07/04/2019 14:08

These are hilarious.

Should I be worried that I do a fair few of these things..? Blush

HopeAndJoy16 · 07/04/2019 15:09

Every time my DH gets in the car he will wait until it's moving (whether it's me driving or him) to pat down his pockets to check he's got his phone and wallet. Just check your pockets before you get in the car ffs!!

Tealtights · 07/04/2019 15:18

I think this post has been copied into netmums by the way.

Wavingwhiledrowning · 07/04/2019 15:21

DH sleeps in socks. He reckons its because if he needs to get up in the night, he'd have to put his slippers on, and you absolutely can't wear slippers without socks. And you can't go anywhere without proper footwear on. Madness. He doesn't wear any kind of footwear without socks. I've hardly ever seen his actual feet, but when I do they are a sight to behold. They're so soft... like baby skin. Totally smooth, and oh so pale.

Hippopotas · 07/04/2019 15:45

Mine swills tea round his mouth like mouthwash!

Shinyletsbebadguys · 07/04/2019 15:55

My DP will get up in the morning and either naked or with boxers in will put on his socks

Then come back to bed Grin

I think back in the day he lived in houseshares so the cleaning was a but ropy but no longer the case but its his habit

I personally think he's as fit as hell so it makes me laugh to see him wander about in these socks that would make Victor meldrew accuse of him being middle aged

So often when he goes down to the kids he's in his ratty old dressing gown....and socks

Ds1 has become suspiciously attached to wearing his socks now and I entirely blame DP...come to think of it the other day ds2 was pulling his socks on with his pull up on and then wandered off...they never ever see DP half clothed so damn it it must be some wierd osmosis thing

wanderings · 07/04/2019 16:29

Lots of DH's surgically attached to their socks! My DH doesn't bother, and wears slippers (and sometimes trainers) on bare feet. But I do it too. Wink

Mummyilovejokes1 · 07/04/2019 18:01

We will be half way to our destination in the car etc and he will ask if we have got everything! Too bloody late by that point!
