Smooth peanut butter, a fancy-pants brand called 'Whole earth' or something. Or marmite (without butter). Or I place a massive slab of butter on each and then microwave so it melts, so the crumpet is lovely and hot and drenched in buttery calories goodness.

Real butter, vegemite and then back under the grill to melt some vintage tasty cheese on top.

Hyacintharehighersincelasttime · 28/03/2019 06:27

small,
butter marmite on one and butter blackcurrant jam on the other

DinosApple · 28/03/2019 06:44

Butter if savory. With cheese if requiring some protein and more fat.

Butter and honey for sweet.

Japonicaflower2 · 28/03/2019 06:51

Lemon curd

ExhaustedGrinch · 28/03/2019 06:54

Lots of butter and sprinkled with sugar. My DP thinks this is odd but I'm going to buy crumpets later and prove him wrong!

drogon1 · 28/03/2019 07:03

Butter and bovril 😍

Deathraystare · 28/03/2019 07:07

How very timely! I have some I got cheap from Tesco (25p). Must eat them up tonight. Only butter - well- the benecon stuff.

PregnantSea · 28/03/2019 07:10

Strictly nothing but butter. You guys putting jam and peanut butter on them are crazy! Shock

notacooldad · 28/03/2019 08:09

Small with syrup.

I do t have them very often for that reason!

IncyWincyGrownUp · 28/03/2019 10:15

Small ones toast until done, then I add a scrape of mustard and a slice of cheese then grill until melted.

Ilovemypantry · 28/03/2019 10:34

Benecol and cheese spread go on mine. Such a comforting snack, I love them.

outpinked · 28/03/2019 10:35

Just butter.

MrsFrTedCrilly · 28/03/2019 14:31

Butter, poached egg & lots of pepper..yum

AdaColeman · 28/03/2019 14:45

Sometimes I soak them briefly in beaten egg and fry on both sides, they make a version of Eggy Bread that's very good with bacon/sausages, I think it would work with smoked haddock too.

BillywigSting · 28/03/2019 14:46

Small, and enough butter that they only just manage to keep their structural integrity.
