2 small - well done,so they're crispy with butter,grated cheese & beans.
Food of the Gods !!

Bigonesmallone3 · 25/03/2019 17:38

Small, lots of butter and marmite.
3 per sitting is the perfect amount 🥰

Meet0nTheledge · 25/03/2019 17:39

Small, well toasted, with either just butter (salted), butter and marmite, or soft cheese/cheese spread.

Never, ever anything sweet.

Palominoo · 25/03/2019 17:39

I had a giant one once not intending to eat all of it as it was so huge but two bites in and it was grim.

I like butter and marmite on mine with a slice of cheddar.

Nanalisa60 · 25/03/2019 17:40

BUTTER BUTTER and a bit more butter!!

SusanWalker · 25/03/2019 17:40

Small, well done so they are crunchy, then butter and marmite or butter and peanut butter or butter and Brussels pate.

AllGoodDogs · 25/03/2019 17:40

Butter & marmite or Nutella.

Or a Bagel.

PassMeTheWine · 25/03/2019 17:41

And why do the giant ones taste horrible? Always two small ones.

MissPollyHadADolly19 · 25/03/2019 17:42

Small with cheese, black pepper and then dipped in BBQ sauce. Or if I fancy something sweet then peanut butter and jam.

Heaviestdirtyestsoul · 25/03/2019 17:43

We had the bunny shaped crumpets from Iceland, partner brought me breakfast in bed last Saturday and DID NOT BUTTER THE EARS. He is a heathen. I have already had to teach him to butter to the edges, only use the good butter and stop putting jam AND cheese on the kids crumpets. I'm wondering if it's grounds to LTB.

Whynham · 25/03/2019 17:43

Small, soaked in beaten egg then pan fried (like eggy bread) with streaky bacon and hot sauce.

Best hangover cure ever.

DurhamDurham · 25/03/2019 17:45

Lurpak butter. Small or giant, I don't mind which as long as the butter is Lurpak

EntirelyAnonymised · 25/03/2019 17:46

Small. Marmite & butter is my absolute favourite but marmite gives me terrible wind (I have issues with yeast), so I very rarely have it.

isseywithcats · 25/03/2019 17:47

small and usually just loads of butter but do like them with cheese on occassionally

Atalune · 25/03/2019 17:48

Only ever Warburton’s. That’s the first thing.

Toasted for 6 minutes then slathered in real butter. If I’m in the mood, some black currant jam. Or a fried egg sunny side up with lots of salt.
But I think just butter is probably my fave.

LittleAndOften · 25/03/2019 17:51

Small, with no butter, just jam or honey, and it must be a soft set jam that runs into the holes. Lush.

DS has them for breakfast with butter and marmite. I see them more as a treat - like a cream tea.

curiositycreature · 25/03/2019 17:51

I’ve never needed to eat a crumpet as much as I do right now. Think I’ll play the pregnancy card and send DH round the shop.

Filtch · 25/03/2019 17:52

I prefer a pikelet as love the more crunchy texture. Smothered in butter and maybe with jam.

ImTakingTheEssence · 25/03/2019 17:52

Small. Scrambled eggs and ham with lots of salt and pepper! Grin

onlyhereforthefood · 25/03/2019 17:53

Small with either

Butter and marmite
Peanut butter
Philadelphia and lemon curd

chillychicken · 25/03/2019 17:54

Butter or maple syrup.

Not tried it with Nutella before...will be doing that this weekend!

BertrandRussell · 25/03/2019 17:59

One of the longest threads I ever started was on this very topic! I had one crumpet and asked for suggestions. Nobody had heard of my family of origin’s traditional crumpet styling- butter, salt and black pepper. And I don’t think I convinced anyone.....

hugoagogo · 25/03/2019 18:02

Small ones well done with loads of butter and maybe a dab of marmite, honey, maple syrup or jam.

Alternatively- crumpet pizza!Grin

Notwotuknow · 25/03/2019 18:08

It's definitely grounds for divorce, Heaviestdirtyestsoul.
I'm contemplating divorcing dh and the kids because they're all weird and have stuff other than just butter on them. They also don't butter right to the edges, and they're a bit stingy with how much butter they put on them too.

AGnu · 25/03/2019 18:09

Normal size, loads of butter & honey.
