Depending on my mood butter, cheese, marmite, Jam or lemon curd.

SandrasAnnoyingFriend · 25/03/2019 18:19

Small

Either butter and marmite or cream cheese and smoked salmon (like a big blini!) or peanut butter and jam. Or just shitloads of butter.

Mememeplease · 25/03/2019 18:25

Lashings of real butter and marmite.

CakeNinja · 25/03/2019 18:25

I have small ones, grilled until crispy and coated in proper butter. I would normally have 3 Blush but am on the health wagon now and staying well clear of anything like crumpets as I can’t seem to just have one l!

cwg1 · 25/03/2019 18:26

We'll be having crumpets for supper when DP gets in. Three each, traditional size, butter and cheese. Wensleydale tonight, but Lancashire (first preference), Red Leicester, Double Gloucester or Cheddar also very good.

And I'm horrified that I've had to add both 'crumpet' and 'Wensleydale' to my ignorant kindle dictionary Grin

Decormad38 · 25/03/2019 18:27

Lemon Curd

Ellenborough · 25/03/2019 18:28

Never seen a giant crumpet. Confused

Toasted until crisp on top. Lots of butter. Proper butter. Occasionally Marmite.

Anything else would just be wrong.

Nacreous · 25/03/2019 18:29

Got to be Warburton's.

Don't mind the size.

Usually butter and marmite.

Sometimes butter and cheddar, or blue cheese (no butter).

BearSoFair · 25/03/2019 18:30

Regular size, butter and marmite. I always think the giant ones are too spongy.

avocadoincident · 25/03/2019 18:30

Margarine and cracked black pepper....try it everyone

Ellenborough · 25/03/2019 18:36

OMG That's TWO mentions of margarine on this thread. It's hurting my soul. Shock

orangejuiced · 25/03/2019 18:37

Peanut butter

Ellenborough · 25/03/2019 18:39

I didn't think anyone had eaten margarine since about 1990 but I guess that's what the current trend for 'healthy' veganism is doing for us. Bringing back the vile tasting Frankenstein poison that is margarine. Hmm

crosstalk · 25/03/2019 18:45

Smoked salmon and cream cheese. But doubting any salmon now looking at how fish farming is destroying salmon and other fish.

Otherwise marmite. Yum.

MyDcAreMarvel · 25/03/2019 18:46

Normal size with lurpak.

formerbabe · 25/03/2019 18:46

Scrambled eggs

PrivateIsles · 25/03/2019 18:53

I find the giant ones a bit doughy. It's a good idea but doesn't really work, sadly.

I love all toasted goods. Crumpets with loads of butter are the way to go. Strawberry/raspberry jam is nice as well, but I prefer just butter tbh.

cricketmum84 · 25/03/2019 18:56

@LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD I'll just leave this here for you Wink

What do you put on your crumpets?
Mmmhmmokdear · 25/03/2019 19:05

Normal size with shedloads of butter. So much butter that there's a pool of butter underneath where it's all dripped through the holes!

Mmmhmmokdear · 25/03/2019 19:06

We have giant crumpets for breakfast & top them with bacon & egg / beans / egg & avo etc etc.

amusedbush · 25/03/2019 19:06

Small, toasted until crispy and then plenty of salted butter.

wonkylegs · 25/03/2019 19:31

Small with either butter or butter and a drizzle of honey

Sillybonkers · 25/03/2019 19:45

Well done, butter. If it’s a meal, honey also.

Sillybonkers · 25/03/2019 19:46

Oooops forgot to say small. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a giant one!

Duckee · 25/03/2019 19:47

Crumpet with loads of butter and then a thick layer of crunchy peanut butter. Amazing.
