So my neighbours are getting work done again, and as usual they haven't told us (yesterday the work started at 6:30am but that's another story) and today I have gone out ready for my day to see a big fuck off lorry blocking my drive. Knocked on next door. No answer. Fence between us so not like I can even just use their drive to get out!

Crappy diagram attached.

FUMING Grin

And vaseline all over there mirrors and window

RedTideBlues · 19/03/2019 14:36

I understand that a healthy dollop of peanut butter strategically placed on the windscreen can get the drivers attention.

LarryGreysonsDoor · 19/03/2019 14:37

Not the point! My drive - get your fucking lorry off the end of it there are no direct buses to where I was headed and I don't see why I should have to pay £10+ when I could use my car for much much less in petrol

I know. The comment was in response to a poster on another thread who seemingly couldn't see that there is any problem with parking over someones drive and that person could simply walk or take a taxi to wherever they needed to go.

Lweji · 19/03/2019 14:39

Make sure to tell them that you WILL call the police next time if you are blocked in.
Or park on her drive on the return. Wink

IHateUncleJamie · 19/03/2019 14:42

@Larry FFS, some people. 🤬

OP you were much more patient than I’d have been. Gold star Star for the brilliant diagram but 6/10 for assertiveness. They need to move the van so it’s not obstructing your driveway AT ALL.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 19/03/2019 14:43

Is there a reason you couldn't park across your drive when they leave?

BeanBagBalls · 19/03/2019 14:44

Why didn't you go out and tell the driver to stop blocking your drive and not to do it again?
I don't understand why you watched the driver return and only move it a metre but said nothing.

IHateUncleJamie · 19/03/2019 14:45

Ohhhh, I’ve just seen that it was Yellowfish on the other thread. That explains a lot. 😂

TinselAndKnickers · 19/03/2019 14:45

The big fuck off lorry has moved!! And been replaced with a cement one Angry they'll "just be a sec" so I took a sneaky pic of it. Excuse my shithole garden!Blush

This one has a number written on it. I said if it's still there in five minutes I will be making a complaint and they will be getting a horrible grumpy cow leaving a review. AND they will be getting cat shit smeared on their back window and handle Grin

Sorry @Larry there was supposed to be a smiley in there! I'm not that much of a cow Grin but maybe I need to be with these workmen..

Idiit's always suggest putting dog mess under the handle Hmm.

TinselAndKnickers · 19/03/2019 14:46

Larry - my response was to another poster I think! There had been a mix up Smile

OP posts:
Jakethekid · 19/03/2019 14:47

Again, what is your neighbour doing about this?

LarryGreysonsDoor · 19/03/2019 14:49

I think it was, Tinsel, but i think the other poster was referencing the same thread.

Mummyto2munchkins · 19/03/2019 14:51

I think we need another diagram!

SileneOliveira · 19/03/2019 14:56

I might park right on the end so there's no way they can park it there tomorrow??

Do that. Or see them when they arrive tomorrow and explain that you need access to get on and off your drive at all times.

I feel your pain. Both my neighbours on either sides are having work done at the moment. It's like Piccadilly Circus round our wee cul de sac.

LarryGreysonsDoor · 19/03/2019 15:02

I’ve just seen that it was Yellowfish on the other thread.

I've just done an advance search. Yellow certainly is a piece of work. Staff having all privileges, parking spaces and IT access taken away, sent to work in the photocopy room on weekend shifts simply for handing in their notice!

TinselAndKnickers · 19/03/2019 15:03

All vans moved. Neighbour was speaking to them - I nipped out to join the conversation and told them I was not impressed and would call the police next time. It was only a gym class and food shopping I missed but had it been something more serious I would have raised hell. I agree I am too patient!

As per request of @Mummyto2munchkins here is my final diagram Grin

Complain in any case to the cement company re their driver's parking.

Lay off using the cat shit however, unless you want to be possibly charged with criminal damage. Tempting as it is, you cannot touch the vehicle.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 19/03/2019 15:04

Glad to read that all vehicles have now moved.

TinselAndKnickers · 19/03/2019 15:05

Don't know who the random peeping Sally is creeping her head in at the back there! Grin

OP posts:
IHateUncleJamie · 19/03/2019 15:07

Lol, well done OP. Grin

@Larry ha, you’re not wrong! Yellow is bizarre. 😳😂

FairyFlake45 · 20/03/2019 17:53

I’d be fuming!

Don’t park in your driveway tomorrow...make sure you park in the road (across your dropped kerb) and refuse to move it for any lorries, deliverys etc.

Mymomsbetterthanyomom · 20/03/2019 17:56

Oh nope!!How rude and disrespectful of your neighbor. They are the ones telling these trucks where to park.I'd be ticked as well!

Reters · 20/03/2019 17:57

I might park right on the end so there's no way they can park it there tomorrow??

Do it now.

Lweji · 20/03/2019 17:59

Well, it's already tomorrow, as such. Not sure why this thread came up in Trending.

BTW, any incidents today, OP?
Great diagram on the last update. For some reason I couldn't see it on my browser yesterday (maybe it was phone).
