I put it on because I thought it woukd be entertaining but actually, its pretty boring and flat. (Not talking about the causes sections)

No. Never watched it.

ginghambox · 15/03/2019 20:02

Nope it is utter shite.

SleepingSloth · 15/03/2019 20:02

I've just put it on. Ed Sheeran has just done an appeal about homelessness.

Our children's schools both did fundraising today. Let's hope they raise lots. Donate if you can.

Justmuddlingalong · 15/03/2019 20:03

I'm happy to donate. But I won't put myself through actually watching the thing.

Whisky2014 · 15/03/2019 20:03

Like i dont mind the raising money part. It's the actual entertainment part of the show I think is a bit shit.
I liked emili sande though.

I'm watching for the four weddings bit.

Summerisdone · 15/03/2019 20:09

I've just turned it on about 20 minutes ago and cringing slightly at how un-funny the 'funny' bits have been so far... I don't think I'll last much longer before I switch to Netflix and watch the Maddie doc.

Starlight456 · 15/03/2019 20:10

Nope Corrie is on

ASauvignonADay · 15/03/2019 20:10

I'll watch it until Gogglebox is on!

Jakadaal · 15/03/2019 20:11

I'm just waiting for the four weddings and funeral bit then I will be switching off. It's all a bit cringeworthy

Whisky2014 · 15/03/2019 20:11

Oh god this mamma Mia bit is shit!

Bilge

SilverySurfer · 15/03/2019 20:12

I never watch it. I'm currently watching a new series of Queer Eye on Netflix - one of my favourite programmes.

bluebambino · 15/03/2019 20:12

Put it on, Miranda Hart is so unfunny it's embarrassing. Turned it off as she was making me cringe so hard!

Whisky2014 · 15/03/2019 20:14

Yeh, she's terrible

Upsy1981 · 15/03/2019 20:15

I was thinking earlier, I'm sure it used to be funnier. I'm sure they used to have a daft song that had been released for a few weeks that all the kids would be singing and you used to be able to buy red noses more easily. It seems to 'try hard' now. It used to be sillier I think. Or am I just using my rose tinted glasses??

Whisky2014 · 15/03/2019 20:18

Yeh i think you're right. A charity song. It was more funny and less staged I think

Summerisdone · 15/03/2019 20:20

@Upsy1981 I feel like it definitely used to be a bigger deal and much more fun. I'd recently been wondering when the Comic Relief song stopped being a thing, the last I remember was 1D's about 6? years ago, but I don't remember any the few years before that one either.
I've also noticed that many of the schools and nurseries around me didn't seem to be doing anything and I don't know of anybody who was doing anything in work, but it used to seem that practically the whole country got involved.
I've not even seen a single red nose this year either.

HermioneWeasley · 15/03/2019 20:22

Not donating this year. Found out they fund Allsorts and Mermaids

JennaRossetti · 15/03/2019 20:25

It was better when it first started as it was edgier and you didn’t quite know what the comedians would do/say next. It’s all corporate and sanitised now.

And very pleased with itself.

SleepingSloth · 15/03/2019 20:27

Yes. Are they only sold at Sainsburys? I know TK Maxx were doing tshirts. We are surrounded by loads of Tescos and Morrisons so we had to make a longer journey to a Sainsburys a few weeks ago to get some noses and a few other bits. I wish they were sold at more supermarkets.

This

MrsFogi · 15/03/2019 20:29

No way - not watching, not donating since I learnt that they support Mermaids/contribute the the erosion of women's rights.

Comic Relief does amazing things for so many worldwide. Please don't derail the thread.

Soontobe60 · 15/03/2019 20:32

I didn't know that about Mermaids!
I've been stuck with it for 10 minutes, it's going off now,
