Dishwasher - Yay or Nay?

Do you regret your dishwasher or do you love it?

It's just DS10 and I and it feels like a bit of a luxury but I really want one.

Is this pure laziness?

If it is laziness, there's no medals for not being lazy.

Yiu have to be careful what you put in them but everything that can go in comes up so much cleaner.

kittybee · 15/03/2019 19:18

I’ve just had a new kitchen, and had a dishwasher fitted. Best thing ever! For the first time in my life I’m not seeing dirty pots stacked up waiting to be washed, and therefore it’s given me added time in my hectic day. Do it!

witherwings · 15/03/2019 19:19

Get one. They are brilliant. I got one about 4 years ago and would never go back.

I would rather not have a washing machine than not have my dishwasher! I love it! For cleaning stuff, for hiding dirty stuff in, for keeping clean stuff in. Love it. Love love love! You will not regret it!

Yorkshiremum17 · 15/03/2019 19:20

There are 3 of us. We have only had one for about 18 months. I would not be without it at all. Even if I was on my own I would have the dishwasher! I was a bit ambivalent before we got it but I love the blessed thing now!😀

Dowser · 15/03/2019 19:20

No.. can’t bear putting my hand in where there’s all that dirty stuff
So much easier to wash as you go along

Haffdonga · 15/03/2019 19:20

Love.

Xmasbaby11 · 15/03/2019 19:20

Get one. Ours gets used all the time! As well as saving time it also makes the kitchen tidier with no dishes piled up.

MrsMoastyToasty · 15/03/2019 19:21

Yay!

Life's too short to wash dishes.

HeathRobinson · 15/03/2019 19:21

Love.
It saves a lit of time.

PatrickMerricksGoshawk · 15/03/2019 19:21

Yes, a million times yes!

HeathRobinson · 15/03/2019 19:21

Or lot, even.

hilbil21 · 15/03/2019 19:21

Get one they're brilliant!

AfterSchoolWorry · 15/03/2019 19:21

Non negotiable.

I've always had one since I was a child.

In the 1970's.

Except for a few months, really reinforced the fact that life is too short to hand wash dishes.

Theworldisfullofgs · 15/03/2019 19:22

Love love love.

GoldenHour · 15/03/2019 19:22

Who the hell would regret a dishwasher? Do you see a washing machine as laziness? I wouldn't ever be without one, just as I wouldn't a washing machine. Washing up is an utter waste of our time.

Sorry I don't mean that to sound quite as aggressive as it looks, I'm very passionate about my dishwasher!

OhMyHolyCrap · 15/03/2019 19:23

I'm feeling the love for the diswashers...

I do like the idea of nice clear worktops.

I'm wondering if I'd have to run it everyday with just the two of us? Maybe every second day?

OutwithMyRemit · 15/03/2019 19:23

Love ours!

BoswellsBollocks · 15/03/2019 19:24

We rent and our last house had a dishwasher, we never used it! I thought the salts/liquid/cleaning stuff would be expensive and I felt it was just lazy.

We’ve moved recently and the new house has a lovely modern kitchen with a dishwasher, we didn’t use it for the first month (including over Xmas!) but now we’ve started I can’t look back, I’m starting to fall in love with it and I’m getting weirdly obsessive over it. 17yo ds used it yesterday and I was annoyed with him for filling it wrong Blush

Fishwifecalling · 15/03/2019 19:24

Had our first one when I was hand washing baby bottles back in the day when dishwashers weren't that common and bottles were supposed to be handwashed and thought as I was washing up I might as well do the other stuff so I didn't really appreciate it.
When the PFB ness wore off it became a necessity. Couldn't do without it now.

DisposableNN · 15/03/2019 19:24

Oh god yes! I love mine. I have 4 dc and although I know how I managed before having one - nothing beats being able to put stuff out of sight so kitchen always looks tidy and then the DC empty it! Plus it gets things far cleaner than handwashing. And is more environmentally friendly - especially if you are one of those who washes up for a family of 4/5 and keeps the tap running like so many on mn do.

Palominoo · 15/03/2019 19:25

I hate dishwashers. I don't find washing up a chore.

MillicentMartha · 15/03/2019 19:25

With 2 of you, every second or third day. You might need some more crockery...

DisposableNN · 15/03/2019 19:26

I would sell my washing machine and one of my children before giving up my dishwasher

Bringbackthestripes · 15/03/2019 19:27

YAY.
I will never not have one again Grin
