Have noticed an improvement with higher end skincare

I've found a little bit of chub helps. There's no wrinkles on a balloon as they say

southnownorth · 13/03/2019 18:42

I think I look about 5-10 years older. It was great when I was 15 and wanted to get into clubs. Not so great at 37!

Sockwomble · 13/03/2019 18:53

I look my age. I think if I did my hair, make up and clothes I would look younger because I have good skin but I don't bother.
When I was younger I looked much younger than I was - got married age 30 but look early 20's on the photos.

BeersAndBassGuitars · 13/03/2019 18:56

I think I look my age.

My last boyfriend was 9 years younger than me and most people thought we were the same age.

Last year, I was pursued by a 22 year old who was comfortable with a 12/13 year age different. Then I told him it the age difference was 21years and he lost interest pretty sharpish! Grin

When I tell people I have a 20 year old, a lot of people think I must have been a teen mum.

So, I suppose I have to accept that I look a bit younger than I am!

itbemay1 · 13/03/2019 19:04

I think I look older but get mixed reviews! Some people can't believe I have adult children and once I was asked if I had a freedom pass Shock. Thankfully it's more the former, I'm lucky that I have a daughter who gives me good clothing and make up advice! Without make up and hair done I definitely look older due to dreadful eye bags.

Delatron · 13/03/2019 19:14

It doesn’t count on your 20s! So not point saying oooh ‘I’m 28 but people think I’m 20’. No big deal, ageing doesn’t kick in then.
Come back in your mid 40s....

Lobsterquadrille2 · 13/03/2019 19:19

DM is nearly 89.

Do you think you look your age ? Or younger or older
itbemay1 · 13/03/2019 19:30

@Lobsterquadrille2 wow your mum looks fab!

SherlockHolmes · 13/03/2019 19:51

I recently had a very drunk 30 year old man wanting to guess my age. I was cringing about what he would say, but he was spot on. So obviously I look my age, but not older. I'll take that!

lljkk · 13/03/2019 19:55

In my face I must look 5-15 yrs Older, pretty sure. I don't dye my hair so it's got many streaks of grey. Few women my age don't dye. Grew up in a sunny place & plenty wrinkles. Never had great skin (and don't wear make up anyway). Keep forgetting to pluck the random hairs (but trying to improve).

I have 4x the energy of many people half my age :). heck, I have 4x the energy now than when I was 25 yrs younger.

BlueStockingUK · 13/03/2019 20:06

I do look much younger than friends, colleagues, family of same age and sometimes younger.
Was a very plain child of the 80's!!
My mum Flowers always moisturised & always included her neck with Oil of Olay Smile
Have done the same from being an early teen ( emulating her )
I think years of moisturiser has been the key for me ?
It is really nice to get compliments/genuine surprise of my age.
Ugly Duckling to Swan took much longer than most

Lobsterquadrille2 · 13/03/2019 20:07

@itbemay1 thank you! She's secretly rather proud of her age.

OldLadyKnee · 13/03/2019 20:16

I used to looked younger as I had nice creamy skin. However, i’m In my mid 40s now and have noticed my jowls are dropping and I def look my age, is not older.
I’ve also lost a little bit of weight and that does not help. I’m still a little overweight but Inrealise now that the fat was smoothing out my wrinkles a bit.

However, I was never much of a looker so although it makes me a little sad, it does not bother me too much.

ComeTheFuck0nBridget · 13/03/2019 20:19

I think I tend to look my age most days, maybe a couple of years younger on a good day or older on a bad day.

To be honest, I think everyone does really. People are kidding themselves if they think they look 10 years plus younger. Every photo I've seen on this thread people have looked their age, with or without FaceTune or black and white filter, etc.

itbemay1 · 13/03/2019 20:34

@Lobsterquadrille2 she fab, my mum looks great for her age too, 74 and still driving, holidays etc I hope the genes are kind!

Delatron · 13/03/2019 21:12

It’s funny how everyone thinks they look younger! Most people just look their age..

Lardlizard · 13/03/2019 21:35

Lobster your mum looks amazing

It seems from what a lot of you say, once you hit your 50s ageing is definately going to hit you !

I look younger. I'm 49 and the young people I work with think I'm early to mid-thirties. Smile

However, i don't have great bone structure or anything, it's just the way I am (immature Grin) and the way I present and carry myself (unsophisticated/ not particularly serious).

deadsexy · 13/03/2019 21:37

Very lucky to look younger. I often get asked for ID, I'm 36.

I spend a lot on skincare and been having Botox since 28

Justheretogiveaviewfrommyworld · 13/03/2019 21:41

Much, much older. Periods of food poverty, stress and no spare money for potions.

MsChicken · 13/03/2019 21:51

Older. Early menopause at 42, face took it hard. Promised myself I'd do something about it when I hit 50 and obsessed with filler reviews at the moment but too much of a chicken to do anything about it. But I have the hands and feet of a teenager (why?) hooray!

SnotttyNosedSheila · 13/03/2019 22:01

I look younger than I am at the moment. When in coversation with people who I am meeting for the first time if I say I have a DS who is 31 I can see they look shocked. I then point out that I worked full time, had a DH and a mortgage when he was born. Age is catching me up now though and it doesn't bother me in the slightest. My DM looks 10 years younger than she is so I hope I've inherited her genes, but if not no worries.

It's worse for my lovely former colleague. She looks a good ten years or more younger than she is and is very petite. When she was on mat leave in her mid 20s she left her DD with her DH to go and do some shopping. She was stopped by the council and police truancy patrol who wanted to know why she wasn't at school! They took her to the police station as she couldn't provide any evidence that she wasn't under 16 - a debit card isn't enough apparently - and refused to believe she was an adult until her DH brought her passport to show them!!

Lardlizard · 13/03/2019 22:27

Snotty that is hilarious

I look young for my age. I’m 29 this month but usually get mistaken for about 22/23. Wen I was younger I hated looking young and getting IDd all the time. It’s slowly becoming more of a compliment as I get older! Although I find I am not taken very seriously at work until colleagues know my age, as they assume I’m young and inexperienced which can be frustrating.
