Crazy and/or deluded OPs we have loved

I thought it might be fun to start a reminiscences thread about the craziest or least self-aware OPs from past threads. My favourite one of all was the supersoaker mum who was absolutely ADAMANT that her darling offspring should be allowed to take his supersoaker to another child's party in the park, even though it was a bit chilly, the party mum hadn't been keen and about a billion posters united to tell her she was BU! (I think it's in classics if anyone fancies a laugh Grin)

What have your favourites been?

Thank you!

I think about the thread below every time I cross during a gap in traffic but before the green man comes on Grin

Who remembers the one where the OP asked a question about a pushchair and nobody replied and then a year or so later the OP responded to their own question with the answer?

I'm amazed at the hilarity it apparently caused, but here you go.

HankNPat · 19/02/2019 15:17

I already linked to that thread way upthread on Sunday, BadLad!

The hilarity was threefold. 1) she hadn't realised she'd answered herself (in fairness, you couldn't highlight OP and your own posts in different colours back then, so she didn't notice it was her own thread - plus she'd probably forgotten), 2) someone said "you do realise you're talking to yourself 3 years ago?" and 3) her NN is ecco and someone else said "is there an echo in here". Grin

Poor ecco, I hope she's still here though (diff NN probably).

BadLad · 19/02/2019 22:42

Yes, I get the humour, but not the totally OTT reactions to it. That thread has more people snorting tea over the screen, waking the DCs, or literally crying with laughter than probably any other I've seen on here.

BikeRunSki · 19/02/2019 22:51

Does anyone remember Westminster School 'mom' from a few years ago?

Yes, she was very single minded!

Historydweeb · 19/02/2019 23:04

The woman whose husband was doing "T-Rex"

Dextrodependant · 19/02/2019 23:21

Didn't the fence woman actually mean over and repaint the neighbours side of the fence in her choosen colour?

QuimReaper · 19/02/2019 23:26

@RafaIsTheKingOfClay I was thinking about baby Blanche the other day! That must have been years ago. Funny the things which stick in your mind. I always wondered whether the husband was still bitter over the OP insisting on their first child's name and was having her on for revenge. (In fairness I never thought Blanche was that bad of a name though.)

I'd like to put in a good word for the "Zeebrugge ferry" poster. I'm fairly sure she was workshopping the script of an afternoon TV drama. Her parents had been killed in the Zeebrugge ferry disaster and it gradually transpired that her evil relatives had stolen her inheritance. By the end of it there were lawyers swooping around, the police were involved, someone was in hospital with amnesia and someone else had skipped the country and was hiding out in the Caribbean. The whole thing took about four days, it was a nail-biting time Grin

frenchonion · 19/02/2019 23:32

I just read the stroller one and fell apart at 'is there an echo in here'

Trexing Sharon, supersoaker, passage kitchen woman, the absolute tool of a woman who posts all the time about her affair with a school dad, sisteine screamer are all gold!

frenchonion · 19/02/2019 23:33

And some of the old posters listed here are a real blast from the past! Great thread.

lunar1 · 20/02/2019 00:36

Has the thread with the really common name Bolonze (I think that's right) come up yet? Perfect name for a British northerner.

x2boys · 20/02/2019 08:19

Just read the stroller thread I was a bit Confusedat everyone's reaction ,yes it was mildly amusing but classics?

MrsJBaptiste · 20/02/2019 09:00

x2boys I agree, I scrolled through that thread waiting for the funny part but there wasn't anything.

QuimReaper · 20/02/2019 09:35

The stroller thread is one of those things that is genuinely funny when you come across it unexpectedly, but it definitely doesn't live up to any hype. That's true of quite a lot of "Mumsnet Classic" "I spat my tea all over my computer, I've been laughing for six hours straight" threads; the very definition of 'you had to be there'.

tinatsarina · 20/02/2019 10:51

Can someone remind me of Sharon and t-rexing please. I've saw it mentioned before but I've never saw the original

Soubriquet · 20/02/2019 11:24

EMIN and her drug addicted foster baby.

And the thread following on with the loss of EMIN Sad

Amazing woman

Soubriquet · 20/02/2019 11:25

Though I suppose she wasn’t crazy or deluded Blush

Chesntoots · 20/02/2019 11:28

Supersoaker was my first thought! She really was an arse....

Pinkginxx · 20/02/2019 12:45

Where I should the one with the church choir, there was B who was a 'Rythemless man' and C who wanted to sing but last time wet herself with nerves. Someone was married to someone else but never did work out who was who..

thecatneuterer · 20/02/2019 12:50

Bigredball's horseshit thread. She was adamant that the horse riders on the lane outside her house should carry pooper scoopers for horse shit.

The thread went to 1000 messages and the OP managed to have the last word on it which was 'horse shit is shit'.

Nabootique · 20/02/2019 13:47

I've not read every post so it may have been mentioned, but the one where the OP's DC had a playdate at their house making jewelry with beads. The guest DC had made a necklace to take home with very special bead, unbeknownst to guest DC because it was just in with the others. OP wanted to know if she WBU to not let her take the necklace home. Just kept going on about how special this bead was. Anyone remember it?

BlackCatSleeping · 20/02/2019 14:49

Yes, I remember the special bead one. It was very odd.
