Crazy and/or deluded OPs we have loved

I thought it might be fun to start a reminiscences thread about the craziest or least self-aware OPs from past threads. My favourite one of all was the supersoaker mum who was absolutely ADAMANT that her darling offspring should be allowed to take his supersoaker to another child's party in the park, even though it was a bit chilly, the party mum hadn't been keen and about a billion posters united to tell her she was BU! (I think it's in classics if anyone fancies a laugh Grin)

What have your favourites been?

@Secretlifeofme thank you, you’re awesome!! Looks like the housework won’t be getting this afternoon..... Grin

ToEarlyForDecorations · 17/02/2019 15:08

It was a 'woo' thread.

The OP's family met up in a pub at Christmas every year in the West Midlands. All generations and it was all good fun.
The OP dreamed one night that she was back in the pub at Christmas with relatives that had died over the years and also children that were born after relatives that had died.

I've no reason not to believe this dream happened. I've always thought that it would make a great t.v. show.

HankNPat · 17/02/2019 15:09

TONGA!

HotSauceCommittee · 17/02/2019 15:14

Someone upthread mentioned Sharon. I don’t blame her for going a bit mad when her husband was t-rexing all over the supermarket.
Was Mitmoi the one who hated swearing on here? I might have written her a poem, rhyming her UN with profanities if my memory serves me correctly.

reallybadidea · 17/02/2019 15:16

Came on to say Sharon.

Also the guy offering yoni massage, can't remember his name now...was it Jeff??!

Sparklingbrook · 17/02/2019 15:17

Brian was the Yoni massage IIRC, Jeff was the hacker.

GunpowderGelatine · 17/02/2019 15:17

The one where the OP was furious because she couldn't push to the front of a long taxi queue with her teenagers (according to her you're allowed to do this if you have children Confused) and to rub salt in her entitled wound the people at the front of the queue who's waited properly were "fashionistas"

SisterOfDonFrancisco · 17/02/2019 15:18

What's sharon thread about? Sistine screamer was great.

Tragic one is the one who keeps posting for advice, never takes it, comes back for more advice but usually in worse situation than before. Haven't seen her posts here for a while so maybe things have settled for her.

BartonHollow · 17/02/2019 15:20

Just tried to read super soaker but page 1 is pretty much all Message Withdrawn

mollibu · 17/02/2019 15:22

reallybadidea · 17/02/2019 15:22

Brian was the Yoni massage IIRC, Jeff was the hacker.

Ah yes, I must have been conflating them.

Sparklingbrook · 17/02/2019 15:23

They may have been the same person TBF really. Creepy men on the internet.

Ribbonsonabox · 17/02/2019 15:24

Yes the screaming at the sistene chapel! That was brilliant!

I always remember the woman who got offended because her husband made her a cup of tea in their teenagers mug which had UNT on it (so the handle is the C iygwim) a few hours after having a row... and she was extremely upset about it...
There were people saying she wasnt being unreasonable and it probably was a passive aggressive insult..

But I could not stop laughing.... that has to be the most passive aggressive middle class row I've ever heard of... I was just imagining this couple sat there being super polite to one another whilst passing this mug with UNT... and the woman not wanting to lose the upper hand by acknowledging the insult... I still laugh whenever I think about it now

LilQuim · 17/02/2019 15:25

I'm only popping on to ask (as you'll know), on the app, via Topics, where do I find Classics? In agony with ear & need a laugh!!

HankNPat · 17/02/2019 15:29

No idea what the App looks like, but here's MN Classics www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_classics

continuallychargingmyphone · 17/02/2019 15:31

An op who had posted her scan photo on Facebook and someone said it looked like a Yorkshire pudding Grin

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 17/02/2019 15:33

Not sure about the app. But I think classics is under Mumsnet stuff on the desktop topics list.

Someone’s already mentioned the nativity play mum.

I always wonder whether baby Blanche ended up being called Blanche or if that poster’s DH caved in and came up with something else.

leghairdontcare · 17/02/2019 15:33

There was a woman a few years ago who came on because she was in for financial trouble after a divorce, asking for advice etc. After a few pages it came out that she was spending £400 a month on a horse. There was no convincing her that getting rid of the horse might have helped the financial situation.

MrsSchadenfreude · 17/02/2019 15:35

I was the person who named the yoni massager “Brian”.

It’s my only claim to fame.

GerryblewuptheER · 17/02/2019 15:36

What's the sistene screaming?

JacquesHammer · 17/02/2019 15:36

Tristan and Molly and the haunted camping pods.

Total bunkum but was dying to know how the OP intended it to end.

Sparklingbrook · 17/02/2019 15:37

Oh I thought Brian was his username. Was he from Hull or something? Not that he actually existed obviously!

MrsDaveGrohl78 · 17/02/2019 15:39

I loved the elderly Chinese lady and the poster who 'snapped and farted' Grin

HankNPat · 17/02/2019 15:39

"Tristan and Molly and the haunted camping pods. Total bunkum but was dying to know how the OP intended it to end."

Me too!
