Surely this won't sell. www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-57097935.html Talk about OTT!

Not to my taste but I could live in it. Can’t stand the beige with feature wall look though. Go big or go home imo.

wowfudge · 04/02/2019 14:42

Beyond gopping = worse that vomit inducing or similar.

There was a thread about this house a few months ago. What a surprise it hasn't sold yet!

CreakyBlinder · 04/02/2019 14:42

I love it! The kitchen is gloriously full of character.

I can't wait until we sell so I can never paint a wall white again!

GiantKitten · 04/02/2019 14:47

Oh! Just seen that it’s already been linked!

waterandlemonjuice · 04/02/2019 14:49

I think some of that wallpaper is expensive, it looks like Timorous Beasties to me. Or maybe Ian Snow.

I like it. Too bright for me but the house is fantastic. My DH would absolutely hate it though Grin

slappinthebass · 04/02/2019 14:50

Gosh is MUCH rather live there than a Hinch style home that everyone raves about. I'm not keen on the floral or butterflies but the colour is glorious. I'm surprised how many people would like to paint it white. Dull dull dull.

MissLanesAmericanCousin · 04/02/2019 14:52

GiantKitten, I think it's gorgeous but I despise taxidermy. I love things that are gilt though and I love baroque furniture. The wallpaper and murals are gorgeous too! Good price as well!

rosydreams · 04/02/2019 15:09

Its got beautiful bones just needs tlc and that garden is just gorges

that house in cranford so grandma its hilarious

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 04/02/2019 15:10

Not my taste in decor in ANY way but weirdly I like it! I think it’s the colours that appeal to me, I love pinks and teals.

BeTheHokeyMan · 04/02/2019 15:14

I love it ! Very colorful and warm much nicer than grey and white Smile The garden is amazing too

IamPickleRick · 04/02/2019 15:16

Someone has loved every item in that house. Much better than a grey or magnolia box filled with shit from the Range. I wouldn’t have it myself but I love it all the same.

Upthepong · 04/02/2019 15:19

Looks like someone spends too much time and money in TKMAXX, but essentially a lovely house beneath all the razmatazz

onlywanttosleep · 04/02/2019 15:21

Sort of thing I'd like to do if I was brave enough. Love the garden too. I'd buy it, then pretend I hated it and blame the previous owners but secretly love it.

Babyroobs · 04/02/2019 15:23

It's a wonderful house and garden if you can see past the décor.

Luaa · 04/02/2019 15:27

I love the teal walls and ceiling in picture 3. A lot of the rest I would redecorate quickly. If people are put off by the decor and can't see the house, more fool them.

Moondancer73 · 04/02/2019 15:32

Truly hideous. Even the front of the house would put me off to be honest

TryingMyBestToday · 04/02/2019 15:36

It's awesome! I have some of the same wallpaper in my house Blush

Let's see photos of your house please OP so we can all sneer. Ta.

ArtyBat · 04/02/2019 15:36

although I assure you I would never say anything negative about this house to the owner. I'm not rude and I do get it that tastes differ and that it's not a matter of right and wrong.
Needless to say, I won't be posting pictures of my own house, not least because it hasn't been decorated for decades. How's that for "horrendous"? grin

I think that by putting this house up on here with the title 'horrendous' IS rude. And as for not saying anything negative to the owner, well, you haven't have you, you've just invited everyone else to do that for you.
Art is used as a theraputic tool consciously or subconsciously, and honestly, I think to put someones labour of love up here on a public site, without knowing the wheres and whyfores of the artistic origins, is not on.

Mycathatesme · 04/02/2019 15:54

I like the garden, but over 500k for a house with only one bathroom and no off street parking? No thanks. Also decor looks a bit try hard.

MrsTommyBanks · 04/02/2019 17:40

I love it.

TryingMyBestToday "Let's see photos of your house please OP so we can all sneer. Ta."

I have already said "Needless to say, I won't be posting pictures of my own house, not least because it hasn't been decorated for decades. How's that for "horrendous"?" so there's no need to put the boot in.

I've acknowledged how wrong I was already in my post at 11.32.41 when I also said "Well! Having read all these posts, I think it's blindingly obvious whose taste (and no doubt, house) is "horrendous". It's mine! Doesn't that just serve me right for being judgemental"

Was that not grovelling enough for you? How much more apologetic do you think I need to be? Should I perhaps leave Mumsnet in disgrace? Would that be adequate, do you think? I've got the message. I'm an appalling, disgusting, person. I'm sorry for the thread. I don't know what more I can say tbh.

come on OP, we need more grovel. Wink

Mumberjack · 05/02/2019 12:45

I’d like to think Phoebe Buffay lived there Grin it is beautiful and homely in its own way. Think the hallway is a bit dark but the rest is quirky without being tacky.
