I was watching and old episode of Bruce’s price is right on this morning and saw an old work colleague...I texted her and she confirmed it, even though it was nearly 20 years ago...

Have you or anyone you know been on a TV show? And what game show would you love to be a contestant on?

My boyfriend has been on pointless with his dad and one of my old neighbours was on Trisha ( remember that talk show!!)

I would loooove to go on to the chase!

My Dad was asked to go on CDWM but turned it down! I'd love to go on Tipping Point/The Chase but feel I'd embarrass myself!

Ledehe · 02/02/2019 19:45

@DeloresJaneUmbridge was your hubby the Henry VIII impersonator or are you Enrique?

They were both very good and I was surprised how low the high offers were in both cases

ManicUnicorn · 02/02/2019 19:46

A former work colleague was on Pointless and a girl I was in a hobby group with for a while was on The Chase. My Nan was in the congregation on an episode of Songs of Praise in the 1970's and the camera apparently zoomed right in on her face, also my Auntie's ex husband was interviewed by the local BBC News programme when he was protesting against a traveller site being set up near their home.

prampushingdownthehighst · 02/02/2019 19:51

Our friend was a member of a team on Scrapheap Challenge...
They didn't win.

HouseyMcHouseFace · 02/02/2019 20:16

And my dm was on Come Dine With Me. She did it as a bit of fun as loads of her friends told her she was such a ‘character’ and would be fab on it. Dm is a bit bonkers and opinionated but is also lovely and hilarious. It was edited to make her come across as a pantomime villain. She got hate mail to her house and all sorts of awful stuff written online (luckily she didn’t see most of it). She was the most outgoing woman in her 60’s when it was filmed. Since it aired over 6 years ago she’s become a completely different woman and I entirely blame that fucking tv show for breaking my poor dm.

I had a makeover with Trinny on This Morning, nominated by my daughter.

walkingtheplank · 02/02/2019 20:29

I was on Sky News talking about the Gender Pay Gap and how I had experienced sexual discrimination with my previous employer. The piece was shown every hour and was on a wall of screens at my old place of work. My secretary told me that my sexist ex-boss ordered her to change the channel after the 4th time it was shown. Grin

HundredMilesAnHour · 02/02/2019 20:32

I was interviewed by Carol Thatcher on The One Show. I had no idea it was national TV, I just thought it was some regional programme (never been home from work by 7pm so I was oblivious!) Carol was really lovely and we had a good off-camera chat about where we lived as it turned out she lived quite close to me. I was asked to go back a few years later but I was on sick leave (MH issues) at the time and thought it might be a bit career limiting to appear on live TV. Wink

A friend has been on Watchdog as one of the people in a 'sad face' story about Easyjet.

CuppaSarah · 02/02/2019 20:34

I was a guest on the ITV lunchtime news. It was brilliant. The presenter was the most lovely woman and really helped me feel at ease.

ScarletPower · 02/02/2019 20:56

In 2010 or 2011 I filmed an episode of "Gok's Fashion Fix" (I think it was that one, not the one where the participants took their clothes off anyway). My colleague had entered four of us to be part of the main makeover group but we didn't get chosen but we did get asked to come and be part of the group / audience in the background. I appeared in the background a few times but that was it.

DailyMailFail101 · 02/02/2019 20:59

My Dad is an extra and has been on lots of programs and films, he’s a black smith in the new doctor dolittle film comming out soon.

April2020mom · 02/02/2019 21:00

No but I would love to be on a game show. Wheels of fortune is a good one or the crystal maze.

beachbodyunready · 02/02/2019 21:01

@MoggEatMoggWorld we do indeed belong to the very elite Chase Winners Club, I was one of two left in the final and we shared just over £50k which was truly wonderful.

catonacoldtinroof · 02/02/2019 21:08

I used to be a hand model and have been in a few tv commercials

OneWildNightWithJBJ · 02/02/2019 21:16

A friend's been on MasterMind, Going for Gold and I think it was the Chase. They did OK! I've been in the audience for quite a few shows.

Spotsbeforemyeyes · 02/02/2019 21:24

EunikeLavender · 02/02/2019 21:24

@beachbodyunready Great win! Ours was £42k but between all 4 of us.

BringMeThatHorizon · 02/02/2019 21:26

My mum was on the first series of the Crystal Maze. I still spot her in reruns on Challenge occasionally now! My sister in law went on The Chase and then on Tipping Point.

sometimessometimes · 02/02/2019 21:49

One friend was on a program about Brits abroad ending up in hospital. In Magaluf or somewhere equally as shite. Can't remember what the program is called.

One friend on Come Dine With Me.

One friend on Dragons Den.

Another on celebs Go Dating.

I'd love to go on The Chase one day!!

sometimessometimes · 02/02/2019 21:51

Oh! And our estate agent was on Homes Under The Hammer giving a valuation on a property 😂

anitagreen · 02/02/2019 22:03

I was on the news when I was 14 because someone set a dog on fire and murdered it and we found it in the bin room Sad
My aunts ex bf went on Jeremy Kyle being an absolute tit was embarrassing
And my old neighbour when he was young just got into acting and he was in midsummer murders as an extra totally staring into the camera it was hilarious

DailyMailFuckRightOff · 02/02/2019 22:04

I’m a regular on a weekend programme but not in the uk.

raspberryrippleicecream · 02/02/2019 22:15

Ds has been on Songs of Praise.

Friend's DC was in Hero Squad

Ds's friend was receintly in another kids show on CiTV

Another friend was in Eggheads, Bil was in a BBC2 cooking show I can't remember the name of.

My sister was filmed testing a product for the Apprentice.

tabulahrasa · 02/02/2019 22:27

My stepbrother acts, so he’s been an extra in soaps.

My friend was in an animal rescue type programme because she adopted a pet that was featured so they came and did a follow up.

Another friend was in the opening credits of a country council - which was actually quite funny as I spotted her and she had no clue until then.

And I know a family that were on Jeremy Kyle, twice...though I don’t know them well, just to say hello to as they live nearby and I’m friends with a neighbour of theirs.
