What do you think will be the next big thing?

Not a TAAT as such, but inspired by the bored of salted caramel thread.

We've had pulled pork everything, salted caramel everything, and all alcohol became first Prosecco and then gin. Donuts are big and before that people charged a fortune for cupcakes. Accessories were unicorns and flamingos, now llamas and cacti.

What's next, do you think?

Artisan gherkins? Poutine? Wombats?

If I could choose, right now I would probably douse everything in nacho cheese.

Tea Bars. Like coffee shops but it's all about the tea. Flavoured loose leaf tea takeaways.

WhoWants2Know · 29/01/2019 20:54

I could get behind that. I love a nice cup of tea. Unless it's one of these cold infused things. 😡

The trendiest person I know drinks rum now.

EssentialHummus · 29/01/2019 20:56

Bats.

Bella6875 · 29/01/2019 20:58

I’d be happy with tea shops or poutines.

Round here every other shops seems to be opening as a barbers.

EduCated · 29/01/2019 20:58

I still think narwhals could have their day.

Kombucha also seems to be gaining ground.

FlibbertyGiblets · 29/01/2019 20:58

Sloths. Or Donkeys.

Tiny food, kawaii.

Calligraphy.

Firstbornunicorn · 29/01/2019 20:58

Sloths seem to be gaining popularity.

MyHairNeedsASnip · 29/01/2019 20:59

That's me KitKat, I am her Grin I used to be a gin drinker then it got trendy and expensive and they started dicking about with it too much.

GlitterPixie · 29/01/2019 21:00

Rum. Our most hipstery bar now has a rum menu Hmm only half the size of the gin one though

MissMarplesKnitting · 29/01/2019 21:00

Rum is the next big drink. This irks me as a long term gold rum drinker. Still, if it makes Appleton cheaper I'm ok with that.

Sloths are where it's at too.

MyHairNeedsASnip · 29/01/2019 21:00

Yes, barbers or beard shops round here. I wonder how long the beard has left?

MeOldBamboo · 29/01/2019 21:02

There’s a crisps and dip bar now in Old Compton Street that I want to try!

Muddlingalongalone · 29/01/2019 21:02

Definitely rum/negronis
Think I'll stick to gin tbh

MissMarplesKnitting · 29/01/2019 21:02

Beards can bog off. Very few men can carry them off, particularly the bigger variety of facial decoration.

I just think of Hot Fuzz and want to shout "big bushy beard!"

WhoWants2Know · 29/01/2019 21:04

My youngest has tried to collect everything you can physically get with a narwhal on it. They are pretty awesome.

Platypuses (?) would be cool too.

Meet me at McDonalds hair for girls.

Pomanders, the china ones.

WhoWants2Know · 29/01/2019 21:05

Are man buns finished?

OP posts:
MouseUtopia · 29/01/2019 21:06

Single cell organisms in plaid, high street therapy/counselling shops and broccoli based cake.

halfwitpicker · 29/01/2019 21:06

Farm therapy.

Go live on a farm for a week, work the land, get back to basics, connect to the earth etc..

You heard it hear first.

WhoWants2Know · 29/01/2019 21:06

I had to google Meet me at Macdonalds hair, but I like it.

OP posts:
Atalune · 29/01/2019 21:07

Rum is gaining traction
No plastic- so more markets and whole food places not just in cities
Whole milk
Sombrero motifs

FlibbertyGiblets · 29/01/2019 21:08

Halfwit there was an article in the guardian last year about Forest Bathing fgs so I'm with you on farm therapy being a plausible thing.

WhoWants2Know · 29/01/2019 21:08

Lol, I run a rehab group in a community garden, and we're dreaming of moving on to a farm.

It's crazy how these trend burst onto the scene then disappear - it was flavoured vodka when I was younger, and alcopops were the new trend - my kids drink gin and flavoured cider, not so different I suppose. I'm rubbish at spotting trends though all this brexit lark is making me wonder if growing your own veg will be making a come back...
