What item of clothing has my mother bought me?!

NC - lighthearted. Disclaimer: I am grateful she has sent a present.

Normally I don't get a present from mother on my birthday but alas one has arrived (we live in different countries)

On the customs label it says 'Clothing'

In the past I have been given some rather hideous clothing from her including a massive purple fleece (it's not cold here), glitter tops (not my style) and endless sweaters with tartan (we are Scottish but there is such a thing as too much tartan).

I'm a jeans and a plain t-shirt kinda woman who is turning 35......Opening the present in about 10 hours.....

What's in the package?!

Or of Marks and Spencer most recent attempts at a high fashion dress ( possibly in tarten)

Diefenbakersdayoff · 16/01/2019 08:50

She does love Marks and Spencer.....

I visited her in November so she knows what I wear. But we did pop to M&S and I got some pjs

A very sensible and comfortable old lady nightie.

Enjoy!

Can we have a photo of the package? I don't want to waste my guess on a bright yellow puffer jacket when the parcel won't hold that!

Any chance is not clothes but a equally hideous throw and clothes was the closest definition to fabric it had?

Diefenbakersdayoff · 16/01/2019 09:11

Roughly A4 size hopefully this works as haven't taken a picture before

Post it is there to hide her address

Haha bright puffer yellow jacket - she would love that. Probably not a jacket Grin

Pants, either massively too small or massively too big.

RoseMartha · 16/01/2019 09:16

Chunky scarf

ILoveChristmasLights · 16/01/2019 09:16

🤔

A lovely blouse.

A proper ladies blouse. None of this shirt or T-shirt nonsense.

Good thing is, you never have to wear it!

MorningsEleven · 16/01/2019 09:16

A scarf. A really big, square, patterned scarf.

It’ll be another glitter jumper if she’s anything like my mother!

nikkylou · 16/01/2019 09:20

Thank you!

Those reversing sequins are everywhere at the moment. Maybe she found you an adult top with them!

crabb · 16/01/2019 09:20

Yep, big scarf.

Diefenbakersdayoff · 16/01/2019 09:23

A scarf is totally not needed here Grin

Whenever she buys me the hideous clothes she always says the same thing "well I liked it....do you like it?"

Bless her.....

Underwear is always good but I don't want bows on them

PicassoWouldBeProud · 16/01/2019 09:29

Scarf.

Diefenbakersdayoff · 16/01/2019 09:37

Another vote for scarf- oh my goodness. The lowest temp in winter here is about 12 degrees during the day. I don't even have a scarf apart from my football one..::

crabb · 16/01/2019 09:48

Maybe we all assumed that since you said you were Scottish, that you lived in Scotland.

Diefenbakersdayoff · 16/01/2019 09:50

Ahh yes I see how my original post was confusing. I am not in Scotland.

OP posts:
ILoveChristmasLights · 16/01/2019 09:57

There’s no way anyone that actually read your posts could think you were living in Scotland. No one in Scotland thinks it’s ‘too hot here’ or ‘never cold enough to need a fleece’ 🤣😂

trulybadlydeeply · 16/01/2019 10:01

I'm going for a lightweight dressing gown /robe from M&S to go with the pyjamas that you bought when you were with her. Not necessarily matching, but I think she will follow that theme.

Diefenbakersdayoff · 16/01/2019 10:01

@ILoveChristmasLights haha true....I am thinking it's a set of vests now. I remember her always insisting I had vests growing up

OP posts:
GrumpySausage · 16/01/2019 10:05

Hmm, I'm going for some lightweight linen trousers. Like she's thought about it weather wise but then thrown a curveball and they are a horrific shade of lime green with swirl patterns so once again will be banished to the back of the cupboard.

nods sagely seen it happen before thanks Grandma

ApolloandDaphne · 16/01/2019 10:07

My guess is pyjamas. Probably exactly like the ones you bought when you were with her but in a different colour.
