What item of clothing has my mother bought me?!

NC - lighthearted. Disclaimer: I am grateful she has sent a present.

Normally I don't get a present from mother on my birthday but alas one has arrived (we live in different countries)

On the customs label it says 'Clothing'

In the past I have been given some rather hideous clothing from her including a massive purple fleece (it's not cold here), glitter tops (not my style) and endless sweaters with tartan (we are Scottish but there is such a thing as too much tartan).

I'm a jeans and a plain t-shirt kinda woman who is turning 35......Opening the present in about 10 hours.....

What's in the package?!

One of those big old lady full length cotton nighties?

No offence to any older ladies who like those.

CharlyAngelic · 16/01/2019 11:14

Another here for a PROPER blouse/ shirt . Advertising banner has 3 ..so spooky senses says that !

Bluetrews25 · 16/01/2019 11:14

Alpaca socks? In bright red.
(Not socks for alpacas, I mean made from alpaca wool)

A liberty bodice?

MadisonAvenue · 16/01/2019 11:16

Alpaca print onesie?

I’m really hoping it’s a wolf fleece though.

Timeforabiscuit · 16/01/2019 11:18

3rd a "proper" blouse, with ruffles, cut away sections or a whimsical watercolour type print - or possibly all three!

Aebj · 16/01/2019 11:19

I’m thinking it’s something you’ll never wear! In other words I’m marking my place to see what it is!!😂

Drookit · 16/01/2019 11:20

'Sexy' underwear. No labels. Possibly worn once.
Sorry!

Mulberryandthyme · 16/01/2019 11:21

Its a wrap with a faux fur trim.

Diefenbakersdayoff · 16/01/2019 11:22

I will be so surprised and happy if I want to wear it.

Alpaca socks could be right. There is also a book in the package 😂 I don't think she knows what books I like. Murder mystery ones are my faves.

It could be that Fendi one that was all over Mumsnet ! @Mulberryandthyme

justilou1 · 16/01/2019 11:25

A crocheted chastity belt? (Tartan, of course.... maybe with an alpaca sporran.)

Marcipex · 16/01/2019 11:27

Winter pyjamas in the sale.

Ineedalifeline · 16/01/2019 11:28

Will you send the item as a prize to the person who guesses right?

TinklyLittleFart · 16/01/2019 11:32

A jumpsuit with a big picture of the Bay City Rollers on the back

Diefenbakersdayoff · 16/01/2019 11:33

@Ineedalifeline only once she has visited and seen the item Grin

Can't add to the clothing guesses (I really want it to be a wolf fleece) but can I guess the book? I think it'll be either a heartwarming family saga of the sort favoured by my DMIL (Which I imagine being produced in bulk by a factory full of young men with typewriters) or a political biography.

Quirkyturkey · 16/01/2019 11:34

Looks like a handbag to me - is that classed as clothing? Probably yellow - or tartan!

Knittedfairies · 16/01/2019 11:36

It's a nightie..

Livingthedream44 · 16/01/2019 11:39

I'm guessing a silky jumper.
Can't wait to see what it is.

Diefenbakersdayoff · 16/01/2019 11:40

@Quirkyturkey you might be right- she has a thing for bags too!

One of them has my face on it.....like Kath and Kim. So embarrassing

DarlingNikita · 16/01/2019 11:40

It may well be alpaca socks. They'll presumably be too warm for your climate
(and is anyone else dying to know where that is?!?)

WhoGivesADamnForAFlakeyBandit · 16/01/2019 11:40

A jumpsuit with a big picture of the Bay City Rollers on the back winner winner chicken dinner!!

Now you've said about the alpaca I'm thinking one of those hats with ear flaps and bobbles on the end of string.

And the book? Billy Connelly's autobiography.

mama1980 · 16/01/2019 11:41

A floral blouse.....

keepingbees · 16/01/2019 11:46

Just looked on M&S site and there's quite a few tartan skirts and trousers on there so I'm going with one of those Grin
