Which mobile phone for 10 year old dd

She currently uses my iphone mostly for you tube
I am due to upgrade on fri don't want her using my new phone
Recycling my old phone

Was think of IPhone se or IPhone 6s

IPhone se £15 a month with Tesco
IPhone 6s £17 a mnth

I'd not get a 2 year contract as when she starts comp and then has to take it to school she might want a different phone. If you think she'll not be bothered and will be happy to keep the Nokia then the 3.1 looks ok.

Dds y6 class is rife with bullying on mobile phones. The stuff is awful (shown to me by mums of dc with phones). They are all on Instagram. I’m not superior, I just seriously don’t get it? The kids all still have phones. I think it’s ok to be shocked at a 9yo being on phone/YouTube for 4 hrs a day 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Girlwhowearsglasses why not iphone 5? What's the issue with it? I'm asking as DS had it.

@millimat it’s not going to be updated now - so as apps get updated they won’t cater for iPhone 5 - so I’m general it will become less secure and also apps will stop working as they update

Mine each have a Xiaomi mi a. They are under £150 now. My youngest (soon to be 8) has one without a SIM card so it's actually used like a small tablet but its her phone - just like her big brother's. She piggy backs onto our phone data when we're travelling or on a Pokemon hunt. The boys are 12 and 15 the 12 year old has a data package the 15 year old just uses wifi and odd calls so is payg.

The phone takes good photos, nice screen size, quite good storage etc.

I'm going to say right here that yes, someone who does not allow their 9yo to be on Youtube 4 hours a day probably is a superior parent to someone who does...

I am really liking the look of Xiaomi phones ripple. They sound like skodas
