What words/sayings annoy you?

Just curious if it's just me but I find 'reaching out' so annoying. Less so, but when people are talking about paying for something 'forked out'

‘Need gone’
‘Get your ducks in a row’
‘No is a complete sentence’
‘Blue sky thinking’
‘This too shall pass’
Basically, anything minimising or cliched.

Crack on. I hate its connotations and hate that it's usually used during some soul-destroyingly dull never-ending household task.

"Fast forward" is overused on Mumsnet.
Eg. I met my husband in 2002. Fast forward to 2006 and we got married

I've never heard anyone say 'need gone'. Are they talking abut something (like a sofa), a person or a situation?

"Regroup."

Makes me rage.

Boob monster

"I was gutted"

Makes me think of somebody having all their innards pulled out like fish being gutted.🤢

I hate reading any sentence where half the words are missing..

I read it on here all the time. For example:

that door needs fixed instead of that door needs TO BE fixed

I have never, ever heard anyone speak like that, I have only ever read it. And only ever on here.

I’ve never heard it, only read it on selling sites, e.g. ‘5 bags of children’s clothes. Need gone.’ I find it so aggressive or as though they think it is others’ responsibility to get rid of their stuff somehow.

The phrase 'tiny baby'. I don't know why but I hate its use on MN. It's commonly used by people in reference to child free/adult only places e.g When they've been turned away from a casino or adults only restaurant 'But it's a tiny baby'! As though the manager is supposed to take a glance at this Thumbelina sized creature and say 'I'm sorry Madame. How foolish of me. I didn't realise that it was a tiny baby. Do come in! I mean if you had one of those chubby fuckers that'd be a different matter."

caperplips I lived up North for a while and I heard people talk like that, but I agree, missing words out is annoying.

Boobed the baby. I've only ever seen it on MN but when I do I always have a visual of the poster taking their enormous breast in hand and hitting their baby with it.
