Self-care every day 2019

Hi everyone and HAPPY NEW YEAR Thanks

I've not made a resolution as such but I am going to do more for myself in the form of self-care. It doesn't have to be too much or for too long but I want to do something daily. I'd love for you all to try and join me.

Here's a list of some of the things I've got on my list:

Read a chapter of what ever book I'm reading.
Bubble bath.
Meditation.
Walk.
Lunch by myself.
Cup of tea in peace.
Movie and candles.
Music hour.

That's just a few of mine. My aim is daily BUT I'm not going to over push myself where I get annoyed if I don't do it. I will try at least 5/10 days even if it's just a 5 minute meditation or a cup or tea in peace.

Who wants to join me? And what're your favourite ways of self-care?x

Hello all Brew

I’ve been in bed for a while now, but I had a lovely afternoon nap so I’m not feeling sleepy yet.
Been looking online for some vitamins, god, they’re so many of them!
I’m reading ‘the language of kindness’, it’s a nurse’s account. It’s okay. Ish.
Apart from that, nothing much. How is verybody doing?

Oh dear, have I killed the thread?
I had the weekend off, it’s been a quiet one, mostly housework. I’m becoming somewhat of a recluse, my aim for this week is to socialise more.
Have a good week everyone :)

I thought I had killed it! I’ve got a rare day to myself tomorrow- it’s going to be all about me Smile

8FencingWire · 12/02/2019 22:57

So what did you do today jellycat?

I went for a drink after work. Selfcare at it’s finest :)

jellycatspyjamas · 13/02/2019 16:01

I had coffee with a friend, did some sewing, read some of my book and persuaded my other half to feed the kids. All good 😂

8FencingWire · 14/02/2019 22:50

You sew? What type of stuff?

I did an hour of pilates. Eye watering expensive, but very much needed. If I could afford, I’d go twice a week.

I forgot to put the dishwasher on. But I’m already in bed. So I’m not getting up. How’s that for selfcare?

Tomorrow it’s the start of a blissfully alone weekend. I’m changing the beds, the towels, clean pyjamas and go to bed with a book. I cooked tonight enough for a few days:)

Joining if you'll have me. Spent years looking after everyone else. Now needs to be my time

right, welcome! Does waking up in the morning and taking the coffee to bed feel like a rebellion? If so, you found your people 😂.

Let me bore you with my latest epiphany.
I knew that all along, but now it’s for definite 🤣. I need a clean and tidy house. I need to clean. It’s good for my mental health. The joy of it gets sucked off when you’re doing it for others (husband/kid/pets/inlaws), but when it’s all for you, it’s amazing.
In other news, last week I played with a toddler. I now think I have headlice. Off to find the nitcomb.
