Who’s the nicest celebrity you’ve met....

Got some inspiration from another thread, so I wanna know who’s the nicest celebrity you’ve met, either at a convention, gig, anywhere really.

Mine had to be Austin Nichols, met him at walker stalker this year, he was genuinely the nicest person, he may have been acting but I don’t even care as he made me feel at ease even though I was terribly nervous. He actually spent about 5 minutes talking to me.

I forgot to mention patsy Palmer is really nice too. when I was pregnant with dd 6 years ago I had a hospital appointment and it was always easier to park down local roads, we were coming back to the car when I heard someone say, hi you alright? I just answered yeah we are okay thanks, u?. I was so surprised to see her standing there, turned out we were parked right outside her house 😂😂 my Nan once got chatting to her in Clinton’s aswell. Nan was typical old person talks to randomers. Didn’t even realise who it was till my mum told her 😂😂

My mum used to work for sky when we lived in london and was visiting with my little sister as she was on maternity leave, whilst she was there she bumped into Brian dowling and he loved my lil sister and was carrying her around the place 😂😂
Mum was also in an episode of brainiac test tube baby, so we had Dom (from dick and Dom) and John tickle round our house, didn’t realise they were coming went to leave for work and there’s Dom standing in my front garden. Asked me if I was okay, what I was up to, I was still half asleep as I usually was when I left for work. I was only 17. 13 years ago now 🙈

Jarvis Cocker. Lovely and polite

SageYourResoluteOracle · 30/12/2018 00:04

Alan Rickman- such a lovely chap he was.

Katie Piper- had a conversation with her when we were in the Starbucks at Chelsea and Westminster hospital. She was undergoing treatment not that long after her attack and I'd not long had some devastating news. I'd seen her documentary and it'd given me some courage so I told her so and she was really kind.

Jenny Falconer- used to live near her and we'd chat when out and about from time to time. Lovely woman.

Steve Backshall- he's a friend of a friend and a really fun and decent bloke.

Jitters22 · 30/12/2018 11:48

All The Blockheads are absolute gents, who have loads of time for their fans

Yep, I can vouch for this having been to loads of their gigs and met individual band members.

They are also some of the finest musicians in the UK - just a phenomenal live band. Norman Watt-Roy is one of the greatest bass players this country has ever produced. Mind blowingly good.

So glad to see them mentioned on here!

Jitters I love Norman, what a bass player! I’ve seen him with Wilko too, the ‘farewell’ tour was very emotional, so glad that he recovered.

MargiaStevens · 30/12/2018 12:05

Anton du Beke - many years ago before Strictly really took off, total gent and very pleasant.
Matt Cutler (former Strictly champ) - an absolute scream.
Bobby Charlton - just the loveliest, friendliest man despite having to listen to my dad’s jokes for the best part of an hour.

Also did a gig with Ben Folds Five when I was a student and had a backstage pass. All three guys were real gents and Ben is the quietest, most charming and musically talented person I have ever met.

DeloresJaneUmbridge · 30/12/2018 12:12

My niece used to work for a big Apple store in London.

Wonderful to deal with was Robert Lindsay...polite, friendly and chatty.
The Beckhams...also really nice..got served out back.

She was utterly destroyed when she met Richard E Grant though who she described as arrogant, rude and obnoxious because she could not repair his dropped iPhone for free. She had really liked him before this.

Another very rude customer was Nick Knowles who shouted at her when she again refused to replace or repair an item for free...again the damage was his fault.

She left eventually and trained as a teacher where she now meets rude and entitled folk daily in the form of badly behaved teens and their equally badly behaved parents. However she loves the job.

igot99problems · 30/12/2018 12:16

My husband is in the film industry and works with loads of famous actors etc. He doesn't really get too excited by them though (whilst I am an embarrassing fan girl 🙈😂)!!

I've just asked him this question and he says Chris Hemsworth is the nicest so far...I don't think I want to say who he didn't enjoy working with just in case anyone recognises me on here!!

He finds most actors nice enough though, just some are more likely to become mates. He knew Heath Ledger a bit and even went to a concert and few parties with him, such a lovely guy apparently.

I've met a few (I have to pretend I'm cool which I'm not!). The nicest so far was probably Woody Harrelson.

persist · 30/12/2018 12:28

I need someone to make my year and tell me that Sarah Lancashire is lovely. Please.

limitedperiodonly · 30/12/2018 12:33

Jean Paul Gaultier. I didn't meet him but I was next to him on a beach. Two English teenage girls came over and said how much they admired him and wanted to be fashion students.

He asked them all about themselves and gave them advice while doodling on a couple of flyers club promoters hand out. At the end of the chat he gave them to the girls and they were two fashion sketches and his autograph.

Dragonlight · 30/12/2018 12:37

Anyone ever met Andrew L Webber?
Emma Watson or Rupert Grint? Am so glad Daniel Radcliff is as nice in person as he always seems on TV.

Jitters22 · 30/12/2018 13:17

Another vote for Tom Baker. Lovely chap.

Oh wow, another one I've met!

Well I say 'met' - I was a young pretty thing and going down the escalator at Victoria Station and he was coming up on the other side. He was wearing a hat and scarf - very Doctor Who - and he looked at me, smiled and doffed his hat as we passed, like something out of Jane Austen!

It wasn't at all letchy or uncomfortable, in fact it made me chuckle.

KaliforniaDreamz · 30/12/2018 13:30

Bono is also very charming. And funny.
Liam gallagher, has total aura and is bloodu hilarious.
A shit to Nicole, tho, who is very, very lovely.

Halfahunnerstillastunner · 30/12/2018 13:45

Marti Pellow (Wet wet wet) was my fav. So genuine, funny and warm. Def has the Glaswegian gift of the gab and very happy to chat to fans for ages. Lovely twinkle in his eye and utterly charming to the grannies who turned into giggling girls round him Grin

Not me but my friend has met both Michael Palin and David Tennant and said they were both utterly lovely, very down to earth and completely non "starry". She said MP also makes a bloody good cup of builders tea!

FrankieChips · 30/12/2018 14:10

@CatnissEverdene Richard Ashcroft’s wife is Kate Radley and used to be in the amazing band Spiritualized.

Paul Weller, Ed O’Brien, Simon Pegg and Brian May are the loveliest celebs I’ve met. All very sweet.

Lepetitpiggy · 30/12/2018 14:17

My favourite is Tom Robinson, he’s a darling He is such a nice man. I have met him several times and he is so genuine and fun and passionate about everything he believes in. I actually love him :D

limitedperiodonly · 30/12/2018 14:25

That's so nice to hear about Tom Robinson. I always suspected as much. TRB were the first band I ever went to see. Power In The Darkness and Glad To Be Gay, even though I'm not.

limitedperiodonly · 30/12/2018 14:25

And I didn't really understand it then
