How old were you when you had your first?

I’m 34 and TTC. Having always thought I only wanted one, I’m now thinking that we might want a larger family (two or three) and am wondering if we’ve left it too late.

So can I ask; how old were you when you had your first child and how many do you have now?

First at 29. Last at 35. I don't think I'd have any problems conceiving now at 42 but I'm far too tired for any of that now

18 with first then 20, 28 30 and 40 eldest is 27 and youngest is 4

19 when I fell pregnant with the first, 20 when she was born.
Had the second one 17 months later.
They are 2 & 3 and I’m 24, now trying to convince DH to try for a third baby

First -27
Last - 29

DH having the snip in New year cos I’m not having any more. I’m 30, he’s 31.

Kids are hard work, I feel like I was hoodwinked into them, damn them and their cuteness!

I have 3 children
Had 1st at 21
2nd at 34
3rd at 36

27 and then had another child at 31.

I dont think you've left it too late, though, so I wouldn't panic just yet!

All of my close friends started having children at 35, 36, 37 and most have gone on to have a second (and a third!)

I was 34 when I had my DD, left TTC quite late in hindsight but was lucky enough to fall pregnant first month.

Having her definately made me want more, 3 would've been my dream.

Started trying for a second when she was 18months old but secondary infertility has meant that 3 years on there have been no further baby, let alone babies. I’ve had two miscarriages and 3 failed rounds of IVF. Will be 40 in 6 months and coming to terms with the fact that DD will be my one and only.

Infertility is so individual and unpredictable you just have to see what happens really OP. But I would say crack on as quickly as you can after your first to be in with your best chance of having more. Take nothing for granted. I assumed I would breeze into having my second. It’s been tough to have had the opposite experience.

34 and I'm pregnant with number 2 who will be born when I'm 35, took a long time due to fertility issues

35. DC2 at 37.

First at 22, second at 24. Am 27 now and so, so tired.
As long as you're happy with small age gaps then 34 seems like a great time to start.

Started TTC at 34, took 7 months. Nearly 36 when I had DD.
Going to start trying for no 2 next summer when I will be 38.

First (only child) at 30.

First- 30, 2nd - 33.

23 and 4. I had my youngest at 44.

Adopted first at 32. Then natural (suprise) pregnancy at 34.
You've definetly not left it to late

18 then another at 23, I'm 28 now wish I could have another but it's just wouldn't be a wise decision.

I was 39 with my first and currently 18 weeks with my second at age 41.

First at 27 and will have my seccond next year and will be 30

35 and had DC2 at 40.

I had my first at 23, second at 25. Many people I know had their first at 35+ though.

I was 35 when I had my dad. I'm 43 now and had shock pregnancy in November which we were actually delighted about but unfortunately it was ectopic 😔. Made me realise how much I would love another but not sure if I'm too old now
