Ds (3.5) says "this night" instead of tonight. "Mummy, can I watch Go Jetters this night?" God it's adorable. When he was smaller he thought ducks were called "dack! Dack! Dack!", like quack quack, obviously.

God he melts me. He also sleeps every night with, "my teddy, my camera, bucket with wooden spoon in, green car, blue car and monster truck!" all in the bed with him Grin

Pasithea · 17/12/2018 11:43

Godson used to say. Yes pees. For yes and no yes peases thank you for no thank you.

cjt110 · 17/12/2018 11:48

My son is 4. He will say "I'll have that apple t'later" Meaning later but I guess confusing it with tomorrow?

We once had "Mummy, I like your elbows" referring to my boobs when I had just got out of the shower"

"But Mummy.... I AM sleeping!"

Once on a plane journey pre-DS a small child shouted on lift off "Mummy - we're off to see God!" Can't fault the logic but the double meaning...

MotherOfTheNoise · 17/12/2018 12:16

My daughter called helicopters 'whirlybirds', she's 6 now but they are still 'whirlybirds'!

She also declared at the dinner table the other night 'Mummy, you just can't go wrong with a bit of broccoli' Grin

My son also likes to tell everyone I've just 'laid a baby' he's 4...I don't want them to grow up Sad

OntheDL · 17/12/2018 12:39

My son (4) came out of school upset because his jumper had been ignoring him all day...

Turns out it was annoying him

NKFell · 17/12/2018 12:45

DS2 says "Tinja Nurtles" Xmas Grin

NKFell · 17/12/2018 12:47

Oh @MotherOfTheNoise I use the nickname 'Whirlybirds'! Nothing wrong with that Grin

jessstan2 · 17/12/2018 12:58

These are all so sweet!
Mine used say 'embarrassing' when he meant 'embarrassed' and 'boring' when he meant 'bored' (obviously not quite sure what either meant but he was on the right track).
He'd say, "I was rather embarrassing today", when describing a situation and we'd say, "Yes we bet you were", laughing.
Same with 'boring'.
He also called music, 'mugix'. We still do that, he is a professional musician (mugixian) in adulthood.

When we moved house he was four and before he got used to new house he said he liked the old house better because it was more 'violent' !!!!
Eventually we realised he meant it was more cluttered and messy.

Ladybirds were 'bogogs' (still are).

Oh, kids are gorgeous. I feel all broody (not really).

Scoleah · 17/12/2018 13:16

My 2 yo says "Your Wankum" instead of your Welcome Grin

When he plays with his cars, he doesn't make car Noises, he Hums Huh Huh Huuhhh like he's singing a little Tune.

& when I wake up my Eldest for school & say Good Morning, he says "it's not morning mam it's still dark" Grin

Crazybunnylady123 · 17/12/2018 13:17

Biscuits are bikits. Spoon is a boon. Thanks is Tarj a mix of thanks and cheers.
Birds are burts. She calls her nose a min. She points at it watching mr tumble and says min!
There’s loads.

MissFire17 · 17/12/2018 13:23

When my Dd was a toddler she used to shout when she couldn’t find me in the house “Mummy, where you are?” And if I suddenly turned up i i was asked “Where you were?”

She also said “will you play liv me” and toopa (computer), and rectriangle.

Dizzylin · 17/12/2018 13:45

My 3 yo DS calls a hood a Head Coat.

He screams Christmas if he sees a picture or anything with Santa on.

He also won't answer to anything other than Darling.

HearMeSnore · 17/12/2018 13:48

Helicopter = Hecklepopper
Ladybird = Doobyday
Butterfly = Foo-fye

They will never be anything else now!

Scoleah · 17/12/2018 13:50

DS says It's Honky instead of Foggy Grin

sugarandspicenotsonice · 17/12/2018 13:59

Ahhhh biscuits are bicbics 😍 and gruffalo used to be gogo! Very upsetting when they learn the real words 😂 milk used to be 'eel'

OP posts:
sugarandspicenotsonice · 17/12/2018 13:59

As parents do you also embarrassingly use the words to each other?

We've been looking after a friends dog for the weekend called Bon Bon (bonnie), I was clearing out our car, so shut the dog behind a stair gate so she couldn't escape and she was winging. My 2.4 year old came running out to me shouting 'MUMMY MY BUM BUM IS CRYING' just as some neighbours were walking past. Had to explain his bum wasn't crying and he was referring to a dog!

Flobalob · 17/12/2018 14:05

My 8 year old calls swear words "square words". "My friend said a square word today! He said bottom to the teacher"

Lost5stone · 17/12/2018 14:06

Aww DD is nearly 2.5, when she gets her clothes off for her bath she puts her hands on her hips and says "mummy I'm Nake". We also have cuggles. If you ask her anything it's "I'm not very sure"

Last night DP picked up her baby and she said "daddy don't touch it's very imporkant"

Crackers1428 · 17/12/2018 14:12

My dd is 27 months, if you ask her how she is she replies she replies with her name 😂

She also says 'mummy you're so foofull' for beautiful.

DS is slightly older but often says things from movies eg the other day he was trying to explain why I was wrong about something, when I gave up arguing he said to me 'it's called a hustle sweetheart, BOOM!' - from Zootropolis!

MyGastIsFlabbered · 17/12/2018 14:12

My 6 year old likes Already Salted crisps! And likes a burger from Old MacDonalds. He's grown out of most of his mispronouncations now though

Crackers1428 · 17/12/2018 14:16

Another one I've remembered from when DS was a bit smaller. ..... Came home from church with nanny super excited to tell me all about the tennis goat he had made. .. .. transpired it was a telescope 😂
