My toddler calls his backpack his packet and his trouser legs his sleeves, Father Christmas is farmer Christmas and he says brooksoost for breakfast! Picnic is pink pink!

My nearly 2 year old
Git git - biscuit
nit nit - blanket
wah - apple
bubba - brother
foow - dog (??)

He melts my heart every single day

UnalliterativeGeorge · 17/12/2018 20:34

DS3 calls escalators "lifting stairs"

When DS and DD talk to each other one will say thank you for something and the other replies "oh you're most welcome!"

Doboopedoo · 17/12/2018 20:41

Love all their own wee individual ways of saying things! We have bumbella for umbrella, fleats for pleats and nursety for nursery, I’m now incapable of saying these words right myself.

Brexit for breakfast is my current favourite though, wish I had recorded her screaming “I don’t want brexit!”repeatedly one morning, she was confused when I kept replying that no one does but you have to eat your Cheerios Grin

thebigmaniswatching · 17/12/2018 20:49

Not saying but if you tell my two year old to close his eyes and go to sleep he puts his fingers in his ears and pretends to snore

DH told my five year old to stop being a drama queen one night, it’s now known as being a “pyjama queen”

I still say pecklish instead of peckish to the point that peckish sounds wrong to me and I’m 32!Grin

BalancingStick · 17/12/2018 21:03

My son(3) calls my hair bands 'bear-hands' - I love it Grin

sugarandspicenotsonice · 17/12/2018 21:06

I'm loving these. It's making me so emotional reading about children who are now grown up :-( my son says cubumber for cucumber which sounds rather adorable.

He used to say wawhite for water, no idea where that came from but he'd call it really dramatically and quietly as if he was so thirsty and my husband still occasionally says it now in the same pitiful voice

My son also says 'next time' for tomorrow

Hair cup instead of hair cut is always a win

Muddy cuddles for puddles from my 3yr old

Sipperskipper · 17/12/2018 21:32

DD 18 months has the sweetest little voice. No sentences yet but lovely little words. Any insect is ‘Bees!!’ said with much excitement.

When she wants more of something she says, ‘Ma-more?’ which is very sweet.

My favourite is her word for thank you- ‘Da-Chi!’ said very chirpily. She also says it when she wants you to take something from her. DH and I say it to each other all the time now, and I’ve accidentally said it at work too.

sugarspicenotsonice · 17/12/2018 21:40

My son also used to say tattoo and my husband still says to me 'tattoo mummy' 😂

My favourite is when my son says to me 'mummy..... you're lovely' or 'mummy.... I love you' 😍

I can't bear the thought that one day I won't be the most important person in his world!

kimmy3001 · 17/12/2018 21:52

My 3yo has started putting her hands gently on my cheeks and saying "close your eyes, count to 3 and calm down"... no idea where she's heard it but it does melt my heart and make me laugh at the same time

Brook1yn · 17/12/2018 22:05

I love everything my DS(2) says.

He used to sing 'mama mama mice' meaning I am nice. He will often say 'daddy best' or 'mammy best'

Whether he goes up or down the stairs, he'll often say he is 'going down the bank'

Sainsburys is Soomburys

Love him to bits 💙

Brook1yn · 17/12/2018 22:07

Oh and he calls the hairdresser Lady chop chop Xmas Grin

kaytee87 · 17/12/2018 22:14

My 2yo insists the moon is a bubble, he gets quite cross if you tell him it's actually the moon and he can't pop it.

When he's eaten his dinner he often says 'mummy, full of insert food type' and pats his tummy Grin

The way he says 'mummy' in the morning, with such affection in his voice 💖 absolutely melts my heart.

If he's slept with me over night sometimes he'll wake me up by kissing me and saying 'mummy, up'.
(My poor DH takes the neglect from both of us quite well Grin)

Or when he asks DH for milk please 'Daddy more malk tease' then thanks him 'Ta-Ka daddy malk'

BillyAndTheSillies · 17/12/2018 22:18

DS who is nearly three asks if he can "play a little wild" instead of while which makes me smile.
Yesterday he came up to me and said "we go outside for a chat please?". The living room was too noisy and he wanted some peace.
He also comes out with "I don't like you!! I LOVE YOU" and says it with the biggest grin on his face.
Our favourite is singing the alphabet "yellow mellow" instead of L M N O.

kaytee87 · 17/12/2018 22:20

Oh and butterfly is 'Fah-fah-Fah' but said in a very whimsical voice.

LuluJakey1 · 17/12/2018 22:30

Ds, almost 4, 'Farver Crispmouse' , 'Welpingtons or welpies' (wellies) ,
Told MIL yesterday he does 'very pongy poops' .

DD - 20 months likes a 'ninna' (banana) and when she is tired says 'me peeps'. When she wants DH to pick her up for a cuudle she holds her arms up and say 'Luffs Dada'. Her favourite expression is ' No no not not' accompanied by lots of head shaking when she does not want to do something.

TheSheepofWallSt · 17/12/2018 22:31

DS is always dreadfully poorly in winter- were in the midst again now (asthma this time).... When the GP remarked on his lovely long blonde curls this evening, he said “yes. I’ve got dreadlocks!”

When I gently corrected him to “long locks” he got quite upset... he has friends at nursery whose parents have locks, so I can only think he’s had a chat with them and come away feeling a bit confused Grin

He also merrily chirped in a perfect, clear voice “OH SHIT” (copying what I said UNDER MY BREATH) when I dropped my purse in the pharmacy.

His lungs are dreadful but clearly nothing at all wrong with his hearing Blush

Jezzifishie · 17/12/2018 22:44

My DD was telling me off for something the other day, 'if you're not careful, you'll get a lump of cold for Christmas!'

Quite a mental image, that one... Suppose she's never seen coal!

She left me a voice message yesterday which ended 'kthanksbye!'

Chickenfillets · 17/12/2018 22:48

My 3 yr old ds pinched the last bit of my dsis drink this morning and she said to him "oh i wanted that last bit cheeky" and he replied "tough titties". I shouldn't of laughed but i couldn't help myself.
Also lasagna is called "lasantya" and horlicks is called "collicks" 😁

Sammy867 · 17/12/2018 22:49

My 2 year old once told me
“I like you mummy, I think I’ll Keep you” 😂😍

HollySwift · 17/12/2018 22:50

Both my 7 and 10 (!!!!) year old DSs have told me they ‘could just hug you forever Mum’ this week. They are pretty awesome.

DD is cute constantly still, despite being a very big 5 year old. Her response to pretty much everything this week is ‘because I am five.’ She has been for 11 days Grin

GimbleInTheWabe · 17/12/2018 23:16

Oh @kaytee87 mumma up kisses are just so cute!!!

Witchend · 17/12/2018 23:23

Ds assessed the heavy traffic and declared it to be due to all the other cars being communists this evening. When I queried it he said "you know people that come from a commune".
Turned out he meant commuters. Grin

FinallyFree123456789 · 17/12/2018 23:30

My brother calls raisins dead flies - he was 5 at the time - he's 23 now and still calls them dead flies

My dd calls conkers- plonkers
