Muriell walking past her Mum in “Muriel’s Wedding” and then the happy photo of her her they find afterwards. Just one of many.

Watership Down... Bright Eyes! Bunny dies and floats off to bunny heaven 😭

Homeward Bound when the old Golden Retriever limps back to the boy. 😭

Honeyroar · 12/12/2018 19:55

I agree with those saying -
Ginger dying in Black Beauty. Same for when Joey in Warhorse's friend dies (Topthorne?).
The Notebook when she remembers and when they die.
The funeral poem in Four Weddings.
Marley dying in Marley and me, in fact all scenes where he is old.
The CD moment in Love Actually.

IRanSoFarAway · 12/12/2018 19:57

Oh yes The Elephant Man! Also cried hysterically at that too. Dr Zhivago when he is trying to get off the bus. Can't watch Schindler's List again as too upsetting. DD is getting The Boy in the Striped pyjamas in school- has seen the final scene and warned her it's very hard going.

cigarettesandcoffee · 12/12/2018 19:57

Someone up thread meantime's black mirror

'Metal head' from the new series is sad all the way through but the end scene where you see what they were trying to get out of the box to take back to someone who was dying! Oh god it's totally heartbreaking and not what you expected all the way through 😭😭😭

IAmNotLikeThat · 12/12/2018 19:57

Schindler's List

I could have got more out.

This pin, two people.
They would have given me two people.
At least one.
One person.

bookworm14 · 12/12/2018 19:58

The first 10 minutes of Up - more so since I had my two miscarriages and one child.

Coco - basically all of it.

In Inside Out, when Joy realises that she needs to let Riley be sad, and Riley breaks down.

The end of Oh What a Lovely War, where the camera pans back to show thousands and thousands of crosses representing those who died in the First World War. All the more moving when you remember the film was made pre-computers and they put all the crosses in individually by hand.

The bit in Paddington where you learn Mr Gruber was a child refugee who came to Britain on the Kindertransport.

The end of Schindler’s list when Schindler wishes he could have saved just one more person, and then the closing credits where you see the real surviving Schindler Jews come and place stones on his grave.

I could go on all day! I cry very easily...

bookworm14 · 12/12/2018 19:59

Ah - IAmNotLikeThat got in there first with the Schindler one...

WeAreSailing · 12/12/2018 20:00

The funeral scene in Steel Magnolias. The ferocity of Sally Field's grief has me sobbing every time!

IsItIorAreTheOthersCrazy · 12/12/2018 20:02

Oh god, loads.

Having had to face infertility, the Friends scene where Chandler is trying to be funny before Monica says "Chandler' and he says " we can keep trying but this might never happen for us."

Similar - Greys when April and Jackson are talking to Catherine about their baby and she says "you will hold him and love him and learn every detail of his face until he's gone" (not an exact quote). That breaks my heart.

Greys - George's dads death.
When Meredith's Bailey is born - that scene when Miranda comes out and doesn't really speak so you see Kristina and Derek running down the corridor.

Scrubs when the ongoing story is trying to work out who's crying and then you see Carla crying to herself on the ward after having the baby.

Films - My girl "he can't see without his glasses"

Bohemian rhapsody- there aren't many sad scenes really but the last 15 mins or so just have a sad feel.

Harry Potter and the philosophers stone. "I've got presents!"

There are many, many more... 😭

Moominfan · 12/12/2018 20:02

The fresh prince of bel air when he's talking to uncle Phil about his dad letting him down. Always gets me.

TheSconeOfStone · 12/12/2018 20:03

Another Black Mirror one - Men Against Fire. When you realise what the roaches are, and the final scene when the soldier goes home.

I always find just about every episode of Call the Midwife makes me cry Sad

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 12/12/2018 20:08

Nearly all of the film "Powder" but especially the bit with the shot deer...it took about 3 days for my eyes to recover from the blubfest!

The bit in Chappi when he's made to fend for himself and he's attacked. Sad

Toolchest13 · 12/12/2018 20:08

Another for toy story 3. I read the book to my son and my voice always breaks on the last page.

IMO the best trilogy

TheLastNigel · 12/12/2018 20:09

Emma thompson in Love Actually.

And a scene from Girls in which Lena Dunham is watching Jessa watch Adam in a play and realised they are having an affair. It was too close to home for me at the time. Loads from girls actually now I think of it which is odd as I liked it but not that much.

throughtheeyeofaneedle · 12/12/2018 20:12

Greys anatomy - the 007 episode

MrsBungle · 12/12/2018 20:13

Tonnes.

The power of one when the bullies kill his chicken

The pianist when the mum covers her baby’s face to stop him making a noise when the nazi’s are close by. I was near on hysterical, brilliant film but i could never watch it again.

I couldn’t ever possibly watch dumbo again either Xmas Sad

backaftera2yearbreak · 12/12/2018 20:19

Oh god yes, that scene in my girl “he can’t see without his glasses”

Broke my heart!

mrscat83 · 12/12/2018 20:19

North and South (the American one with Patrick Swayze) when Billy goes AWOL to visit Brett - always makes me well up when she sees him riding towards her! 😍

Honeyroar · 12/12/2018 20:19

When Snape dies in the last Harry Potter film.

NakedBrainStrollingInManhatten · 12/12/2018 20:21

Harry brown- when Micheal Cain goes to the pub and plays chess on his own after his friend dies.

Juno- Basically the last half hour has me crying. "If you're still in I'm still in"

Mulan- "the greatest gift and honour of all, is having you for a daughter"

exLtEveDallas · 12/12/2018 20:23

Agents of SHIELD - Fitz getting rubbled "Hey, Mack. I think my leg's broken" "You've been through worse"

RosieCockle · 12/12/2018 20:25

Goodnight, Mr Tom: "I can ride, Dad, I can ride!"

Parttimewasteoftime · 12/12/2018 20:26
