Muriell walking past her Mum in “Muriel’s Wedding” and then the happy photo of her her they find afterwards. Just one of many.

ET- when ET is going home! Cry just thinking about it.

Schindler’s List when Schindler falls to the ground and says he could have saved another person if he had given his gold Nazi pin to Goeth.

Euamoonatal · 12/12/2018 19:32

Up close and personal when Michelle Pfeiffer is watching Robert Redford die 😭😭😭😭

Although I'm listening to the soundtrack of "A star is born" and just 😭😭😭

IJustLostTheGame · 12/12/2018 19:36

Dumbo being cuddled by his imprisoned mummy.
Any part of watership down, especially the opening credits.
I got through ten minutes of grave of the fireflies before I had to turn it off in floods.

MilkyCuppa · 12/12/2018 19:36

I literally cannot watch Dumbo, it’s too distressing.

GrubbyHipsterBeard · 12/12/2018 19:38

Never Let Me Go when they are told that their painting won’t save them from their fate. Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield are astonishing in that film.

Also the end of Rogue One. Just epic.

Lellochip · 12/12/2018 19:41

Another one for Dumbo of course, and the end of Pride ♥️

BringOnTheScience · 12/12/2018 19:42

The opening sequence of Up. Sad

TheChristmasYouGetYouDeserve · 12/12/2018 19:43

Dr Zhivago (1960s film version) where a pregnant Lara rides off in the sleigh leaving Yuri behind, he says he is going to catch her up but you know they are never going to see each other again Xmas Sad

I've seen it so often but I think I end up blubbing even more every time.

allyouneedis · 12/12/2018 19:43

The scene in the pursuit of happiness when they have to sleep in the toilet at the tube station. Will smith holding the door shut sobbing just gets me every time 😢

TheSconeOfStone · 12/12/2018 19:44

The end of Black Adder goes Forth. The men going over the top fading into a field of poppies.

The whole section of Wall-E when he is alone and then when Eve has shut down and he looks after her.

The beginning of Up

Inside Number 9 12 Days of Christine. What a twist. Incredible.

San Junipero from Black Mirror. Won't spoil it by saying why.

MothershipG · 12/12/2018 19:44

West Side Story obviously! 😢😢😢

I mostly try and avoid sad films because I'm such a blubbering fool.

HammerHorror · 12/12/2018 19:44

The Elephant Man... when they tell him he has a home, when the hospital janitor bullies him, when he talks about his mother, when he lies down to die with Samuel Baraber's Adagio for Strings playing... 😭

gunnergirl · 12/12/2018 19:44

when Dr Greene died in er

Prestonsflowers · 12/12/2018 19:44

Yes to the champ, I could cry just thinking about the ending.
Also only fools and holding back the years
Dr Zhivago when Yuri is on the bus and he sees Lara and can’t get her attention, and then you know later that he’ll never see her again
War horse when the horse is caught in no man’s land between the trenches

BrieAndChilli · 12/12/2018 19:44

Pretty much every episode of ‘This is Us’!!! There’s so many things in it that strike a chord with me - adoption, neglect, body image, loss, etc that it makes me sob.

TheSconeOfStone · 12/12/2018 19:45

I'd forgotten about Never Let Me Go. Brutal. The whole film is a sob fest.

Roominmyhouse · 12/12/2018 19:46

The Queen of Sheba Royale family episode when Nana dies. Gets me every time!

Prestonsflowers · 12/12/2018 19:46

gunnergirl
I’d forgotten Dr Greene 😥

IRanSoFarAway · 12/12/2018 19:46

Bring I was just about to say the first 10 minutes of Up! Especially when I watched it with family members who couldn't have children Sad.
Dead also loved that episode of the Royle Family, that bit when Nanna tells Barbara she loves her.

ChodeofChodeHall · 12/12/2018 19:47

I honesty don't know how anyone could bear to watch Dumbo. Just reading about it on here has set me off. I will never, ever let DS watch it, he'd be in bits.

Graphista · 12/12/2018 19:47

"Only fools and horses when Rodney gets married. The last moment of Del standing in the pub by himself with Simply Red, Holding back the years playing....tears roll down my face every time!"

Agree, also when after cassandras mc del traps them in the lift 😭

I was watching waking the dead last night (been watching old ones on ukplay) and it was the episode where mel dies, the scene where spencer tells frankie 😭😭😭

Soldier soldier (also on rerun at moment) when annabelle Apsion is playing joy Wilton still after tony dies and she's been kinda holding it together then is doing laundry and comes across one of Tony's I think t shirts or shirts and she just holds it to her face and breathes in his scent and that's when she breaks 😭

Charmed - when piper rages with tears at prue leaving/dying.

"Sally Field absolutely losing it in Steel Magnolias". Yep!

"Friends, when Phoebe has had the triplets and is talking to them" yep.

Friends - bens birth, phoebe Susan and Ross stuck in cupboard "And here's this little baby who has like three whole parents who care about it so much that they're fighting over who gets to love it the most. And it's not even born yet. It's just, it's just the luckiest baby in the whole world."

Controversial - friends when Ross & Rachel break up the first time, Ross saying how he'll miss her arm - ridiculous but still gets to me.

Friends last episode last scene when all the keys are left.

Friends - monica & chandlers adoption meeting "she's a mother...without a baby" 😭😭😭

Fresh prince - "how come he don't want me?" I'm watching dd go through pretty much exactly this and it is both rage inducing & utterly heartbreaking.

White collar - series finale, when Peter is holding his tracking anklet and says "now you're free"

"4 weddings and a funeral when the poem is read at the funeral" yes

This is us - frankly nearly every episode! But particularly Randall's breakdown, Kate's mc, Kevin talking to the tree, jacks death.

ER - marks death

Doug leaving (totally made no sense! They shoulda killed him off Doug would not have left carol and especially not when she was pregnant!)

Lucy's death - so awful and Carter being unable to help.

The good wife - wills death. Total shock at the time too!

Downton abbey - lady Sybil's (that bloody arrogant dr) and Matthews deaths.

Person of interest - Joss's death

Greys anatomy - Denny's death. That was as far as I got as it then got taken off free tv 😡

Eastenders -

Ethel's last moments with dot. Just I can't even 😭😭😭

Bradley's death. Was still watching and I loved Bradley & Stacey. Awful ending to the character.

Corrie -

I'm old enough to remember Stan Ogden dying and jean Alexander's spot on portrayal of the grief of losing a long term spouse was heart wrenching.

Also Vera duckworths death. Quiet & relatively "normal" but played so well.

Home & away - megs death on the beach. I think this was a huge one for my generation of home & away watchers.

Shane's death - really shocking at the time.

NCIS - Caitlin's death. We were misled the danger had passed then bang a single shot and she was gone!

Scandal - James' death

Pretty woman - Vivienne saying goodbye to kit "Edward Lewis scholarship fund"

ChodeofChodeHall · 12/12/2018 19:50

Only fools and horses when Rodney gets married.

And then afterwards, when Rodders goes up to the flat...

"Rodney... YOU DON'T LIVE ERE NO MORE!"

BellaBellaBelle · 12/12/2018 19:52

I second the end of Toy story 3 too - heartbreaking!

The last 15 mins of Marley and me.

The ending scene of ‘man on fire’ when Denzel Washington is in the car.

Bogiesaremyonlyfriend · 12/12/2018 19:52

Got to be the end of captain Philips. Amazing film proper blubbed at that one, and many times after just thinking of it.

olivesarelife · 12/12/2018 19:53

Poldark. When ross poldarks baby daughter julia dies and he is walking to bury her with dr enys. that scene is so raw and emotional
