Muriell walking past her Mum in “Muriel’s Wedding” and then the happy photo of her her they find afterwards. Just one of many.

Oh and I LOVE in 'as good as it gets' when Helen hunt tells jack nickelson to pay her a compliment and he said 'you make me want to be a better man' 😭😭😭

cropcirclesinthefields · 12/12/2018 19:02

The last episode of ER where the old lady is dying and the husband says "but I'm not ready to loose her" I loose it every time. 😭😭

Teatimeted · 12/12/2018 19:02

Another fan of Greys here! When Mer tells Derek he doesn't get to call her a whore "I make no apologies for how I chose to repair what you broke"

CupsAndPentacles · 12/12/2018 19:04

When Emma Thompson opens her joni mitchell cds on christmas day and figures out that the necklace was for somebody else. And she goes up stairs and has a very quick cry so that she can come back downstairs and make Christmas day nice for her kids.

I'm not even married but it made me think that lots of people probably discover something painful on xmas day

The Green Mile at the end where the chap with powers is going to be electrocuted. Tom Hanks character knows he is innocent but it can never be proved and us being as kind as he can when he prepares him, taking care with the straps and securing the headplate to minimise suffering and ensure he dies as quickly as possible.sob

Also, in friends when Monica and Chandler find out they cant conceive.

Miranda’s mums funeral in SATC 🙁

Lepetitpiggy · 12/12/2018 19:05

'Truly Madly Deeply' when Nina is talking to Jamie on the floor and he does the Spanish poem and ….ohhhhhhhh

ChodeofChodeHall · 12/12/2018 19:06

The Green Mile at the end where the chap with powers is going to be electrocuted

Forrest Gump - Bubba

Grey’s Anatome - virtually every episode every time, but especially Denny.

I feel like crying now just thinking about it!

MilkyCuppa · 12/12/2018 19:12

The end of Before Sunrise. Where they part, not knowing they’re lost to each other, and it shows you all the places they went during the film. Empty spaces where the characters once were, knowing that the moments they spent there together are lost forever. It breaks my heart.

And the sequel Before Sunset, where they meet again and it solidifies that terrible sense of loss. No matter how many times I watch it, I still cry actual tears.

Millie2013 · 12/12/2018 19:14

I came on here to mention the Carla/Laverne scene in Scrubs too. Sob

IRanSoFarAway · 12/12/2018 19:15

Agree about Terms of Endearment and Beaches. Also Truly, Madly, deeply when Juliet Stevenson character is in with her counsellor. Has anyone seen the French films Jean de Florrette and Manon de Source? The end of Manon de Source is heartbreaking, saw it twice years ago, remember crying hysterically!

Saucery · 12/12/2018 19:16

The end of The Prestige, with MIchael Caine’s voiceover “....you have to bring it back”

IRanSoFarAway · 12/12/2018 19:18

Also the end of the film The Mission w9th Robert e Niro and Jeremy Irons...

MarshaBradyo · 12/12/2018 19:19

This is a relatively unknown film but Short Term 12 - where a boy in a foster home does a poem / rap about his mother. Crushingly sad

Also I haven’t seen it in ages but used to cry at the Shelby funeral scene in Steel Magnolias

IRanSoFarAway · 12/12/2018 19:19

*with

Crazyladee · 12/12/2018 19:23

At the end of The Notebook when older Noah climbs into bed with Ally to die. (Sob)

And the song at the end of A Star is Born.

tuttifruitti · 12/12/2018 19:24

The end of Gallipoli, moves me every time.

notpushyinterested · 12/12/2018 19:27

Milkycuppa have you seen the next one before midnight?

Mumberjack · 12/12/2018 19:29

‘Is he...smart?’ Forrest Gump. So many bits of that film have me in tears.
When Monica and Chandler can’t have kids, and he explains to their potential birth mother what Monica will be like as a mum.

vintagenurse · 12/12/2018 19:29

Philomena - the bit where they she watches them take her son away from the convent and the scene where she finds out what happened to him. Big fat ugly tears.

Mumberjack · 12/12/2018 19:29

And the end of Toy Story 3. Every sodding time

DeadBod · 12/12/2018 19:30

The Queen of Sheba - Royle Family, the scene where nana is having her hair done by Barbara. Gets me every time.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 12/12/2018 19:30

Breaker Morant, when Edward Woodward and Bryan Brown hold hands as they walk towards the chairs in which they are about to be executed by firing squad.

MilkyCuppa · 12/12/2018 19:30

@notpushyinterested Aahh yes, I love Before Midnight too! Not as much of a tear jerker though.
