Goodnight Mr Tom (pretty much the entire second half)
About Time
Call the midwife in it's entirety, but especially the episodes centred on the poor babies being born with defects as a result of thalidomide.
Soldier Soldier, when Tony Wilton dies and Joy just says "not my Tone" Sad
The new cats protection crimbo advert - if you haven't seen it, go to their Facebook page and have a watch, I sobbed hard.
Sightly obscure but When the Wind Blows (adaptation of the Raymond Briggs book), the entire thing just has me welling up.

Barbara dying in call the midwife, I was still upset the next day.

Que Sera, Sera playing as Barbara in the Royle Family did Nanna’s hair.

Mufasa's death in The Lion King when Simba is trying to wake him up and snuggles up to his body.

Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies · 21/12/2018 09:04

I cried at every episode of 'There she goes'. Fantastically well written, and acted. And very, very weepy.

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/12/2018 09:07

The episode after Rachel dies in Cold Feet and Karen remembers a mundane shopping trip in the middle of the Supermarket and breaks down and cries.

Or when the baby starts crawling and Rachel's ghost says something like "I wish I could've seen that" and Adam breaks down.

amusedbush · 21/12/2018 09:12

formerbabe

Came here to post that!

The whole episode of Sex and the City when Miranda's mum dies is really sad. When she snaps at the sales assistant and starts to cry, and the woman gives her a hug.

Then at the funeral when she's walking back up through the church and she sees that Steve and Aidan turned up Sad

However, one of the funnier lines is also in that episode. When Charlotte sees the huge, garish flowers at the church and she says "those were supposed to say we're sorry, we miss you, not you're dead, let's disco! " Grin

Just finished a long long term of 15 weeks teaching and am having breakfast reading this. Making me sob. Haven't cried for months but I'm just so tired.

For me, lots of the above but esp:

Snape dying, my DD1 is always in bits too.
Titanic - have watched once when it came out in the cinema, can't ever watch again Grin
Schindler's List
End of Toy Story 3
Mamma Mia - that slipping away song
So many. Tbh I don't like to watch films that make me cry anymore, I find it too difficult.

strawberrisc · 21/12/2018 09:15

@QueenOfTheAndals and he goes to Karen’s house and she just instinctively knows. Heartbreaking.

Still reading this thread - Stand by Me at the end. My favourite film ever but still find that hard to watch.

IJustLostTheGame · 21/12/2018 09:28

The end of the animated going on a bear hunt.
It's just so sad!

OnAScaleOf1to10ItsA7 · 21/12/2018 09:35

When Thelma and Louise decide to keep on going over the edge.

Bawling.

CoodleMoodle · 21/12/2018 09:39

So many that have been mentioned already...

Since having DD (4 years ago!) I can't watch Brave. It's the mother-daughter relationship that gets me. Then when I was pregnant with DS, DD was (still is...) obsessed with Frozen. I've seen it so many times and always shed a tear, but at 38 weeks I was sobbing!

And so so many moments in The Bill. Usually when someone died. Which happened a lot! The worst was Cass Rickman, when Nick finds her body. Closely follow by the station explosion that killed several characters. I've seen it loads of times and it makes me weep, especially when Reg is waiting for Marilyn and you know she isn't coming... And Ken handcuffed in the back of the van, and Andrea trapped... Sob!

Highginx · 21/12/2018 09:42

Yes! There She Goes destroyed me. Jessica Hynes is just amazing.

Magmatic80 · 21/12/2018 09:53

I can’t even think the line ‘daddy, oh my daddy’ without welling up. They always flipping put it in the trailer too so I can’t avoid it if it’s going to be on telly.

Sarahandduck18 · 21/12/2018 10:08

Bambi when his mum dies.

Edward scissorhands when the old lady at the end is remembering him when it snows.
