Muriell walking past her Mum in “Muriel’s Wedding” and then the happy photo of her her they find afterwards. Just one of many.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 15/12/2018 19:59

Guardians of the Galaxy 2, where Yondu sacrifices himself for Quill and tells him, "He may have been your father, but I was your Daddy." Cried like a drain.

I'm a total arty film snob, but I bloody love Guardians of the Galaxy.

doctorboo · 15/12/2018 20:43

Just spent too long quite a bit of time bawling over this thread. I don’t ‘do’ crying, it makes me feel vulnerable, but I realise I’ve cried watching almost everything listed!!

Willow2017 · 15/12/2018 20:54

Ist cry over😭
Now for the big one...

Philomensapie · 15/12/2018 21:00

Toy Story 3: "What? You want your mommy back? She never loved you." Bastard bear. Xmas Sad

MrsSteveMcDonald · 15/12/2018 21:01

Yep, end of Guardians 2 for me too Tinkly

Philomensapie · 15/12/2018 21:35

When Fred Weasley dies. Poor George.

When Cedric Diggory dies.

Cagliostro · 15/12/2018 22:05

For me it’s not when Cedric dies, but when his dad sees him and rushes down shouting 😭 I must have seen it twenty times or more but I always well up.

In greatest showman, I cry at the bit in million dreams where young barnham tends to his dying father and then at the funeral bit

sofato5miles · 15/12/2018 22:07

Once were Warriers, 1st scene, when he bashes his wife was so shocking, I was almost hysterical watching it and then, 2nd hearbreaking scene when they find Gracie. One of the most emotional films I have ever seen.

Bowchicawowow · 15/12/2018 22:13

The last scene of Billy Elliot and when Philomena finds out what happened to her son in the film of the same name.

CalmConfident · 15/12/2018 22:30

Surely someone has mentioned The Snowman? It being nearly Christmas as well Xmas Grin. The boys falling to his knees at the end destroys me

itssquidstella · 15/12/2018 22:38

The bit in Brokeback Mountain when Ennis finds the bloodstained shirt that Jack had kept for so many years.

itssquidstella · 15/12/2018 22:47

Near the end of The Last of the Mohicans where she watches her sister drop off the cliff and the Dad runs to kill the bad Indian.

Sally field losing it in Steel Magnolias.

Dumbo’s mum swaying him from inside her cage.

That episode of ER where Carter and Lucy got stabbed.

Howyoualldoworkme · 16/12/2018 00:02

mateysmum
I just came on to mention that scene from The Age of Innocence (my favourite film) and then when Newland closes his eyes and the sun is on his face and Ellen turns...

Also when the narrator says about his wife knowing and pitying. Oh that film breaks my heart Sad

Philomensapie · 16/12/2018 06:37

I know Cagliostro. Great piece of acting. I have a new found admiration for that actor after watching the film.

maldivemoment · 16/12/2018 06:58

Think I’ve scrolled through most of this thread & cant believe no one has mentioned ‘that’ scene in Sophie’s Choice.
Unbearable.

frogface69 · 16/12/2018 07:07

I have sobbed all the way through this thread.
The railway children. My daddy !
I can't watch holocaust films all the way through.
Brassed Off was DHs favourite film. I had the orange juice piece played at his funeral.
Ring of bright water breaks my heart.

Philomensapie · 16/12/2018 07:18

I've just reminded myself of one on another thread: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

usernamenamename · 16/12/2018 07:33

The film Jack with Robin Williams when he has a heart attack 😭😭😭😭😭

strawberrisc · 16/12/2018 08:14

The end scene of The Simpsons where Homer’s Mum had returned after being away nearly all of his life but needed to go back on the run. He just sits on his car bonnet in the dark watching the stars.

Where Dawn comes back for Tim in The Office.

Brassed off was heartbreaking - the woman in the shop, and the clown - although I couldn’t watch it again now because it would seem like a documentary of life today. Thanks, universal credit.

I also know a couple who are lifelong brass banders. They’re going through an awful time just now so the thought of the music upsets me on their behalf.

FreddyFasbear · 16/12/2018 10:32

Odd one but V for Vendetta, Valeries monologue. “ I’ll never meet you, laugh with you, cry with you or kiss your lips, but with all my heart I love you!” not exact order of words but I’m weepy remembering it. It’s such a heart wrenching story she tells because there are still places in the world that condemn homosexuality. I sob every time! Also I, Daniel Blake. Only after watching it with my mum and stepdad ( he is very ill ) they lost everything when he got sick. Watching it with them and he was just sitting silently crying. I can’t watch it again
