It's all such a mess. I'm not a fan of Teresa May particularly, but I do think anyone would have struggled to make a success of Brexit after the referendum, so not entirely sure what replacing May will achieve. And also who on earth would replace her if the challenge is successful?

Decide is the wrong word. Work it out is what I mean.

CoffeeMilkNoSugar · 12/12/2018 09:11

I predict a general election, and soon.

needmorespace · 12/12/2018 09:11

TM has to have been handed the biggest political rotten egg since we were at war

She wasn't handed it, she actively sought it Confused

I think every single MP who has triggered this vote should be ashamed of themselves. The tories have always thought only of themselves and their party. If I was a tory voter I would be ashamed of myself.

Civil unrest will be a good thing. War focuses the mind.

TitilatedOcelot · 12/12/2018 09:12

I think she might stay in. If she does, there can be no further challenge for 12 months, which means she can do what she likes in the final stages with no threat or speculation about a vote of no confidence hanging over her head.

Bowchicawowow · 12/12/2018 09:12

To be fair I know we are in the shit but when it comes to Nations being a laughing stock I think we are runners up to United States.

Hisaishi · 12/12/2018 09:13

"Trust me...they ARE laughing. I’ve have friends all over the world and we are a laughing stock. "

I find this attitude very odd. The British are the most self-obsessed, self-hating people on the planet. 99% of people couldn't care less what we're up to and the ones that do obviously realise that most of the fuck-ups are due to politicians' incompetence.

No one cares.

needmorespace · 12/12/2018 09:13

You cannot change a democratic vote and be arrogant enough to think you will get away with it

what democratic vote? do you mean the referendum? the one that was sold on lies and fraudulent claims? that one?

user1499173618 · 12/12/2018 09:15

when it comes to Nations being a laughing stock I think we are runners up to United States.

Nope. We are a small island of few natural resources and an increasingly deskilled population close to the European continent and our natural geographic and historical allies pretending we are some sort of potential born again world power. Talk about evangelical claptrap.

Bowchicawowow · 12/12/2018 09:15

All politicians tell lies these days. Either side could have won based on complete untruths.

LadyRochfordsFrostedGusset · 12/12/2018 09:17

These days BowChic? ''Twas ever thus".

Amortentia · 12/12/2018 09:18

I don’t think May is going anywhere, if she survives this she is untouchable for a year. Call me a cynic but the fact that Labour have bottled it calling for a vote of no confidence making this is an opportune time for May to win against her party too.

They could have got rid of her two weeks ago but didn’t, her main issues at the moment is trying to keep a lid on her party and winning this will help. If she wins then a general election is the only option left and neither conservatives or labour want this. Once she is safe then many Tories will have to shut up and put up.

icannotremember · 12/12/2018 09:18

For God's sake leavers, when are you going to stop blaming this mess on everyone else? You voted for it, suck it up.

StealthPolarBear · 12/12/2018 09:19

They take their example from the top

user1499173618 · 12/12/2018 09:19

This.

Worriedmummybekind · 12/12/2018 09:25

I disagree with almost everything she has done or stands for, but Tory MPs who think they can do better in the time frame available are just not in touch with reality.

bellinisurge · 12/12/2018 09:26

She's got a strong nerve, I'll say that for her.
Wonder how many pots of peanut butter she's got through .

Anyone who believes Brexit will be good for anyone except the mega rich is not in touch with reality.

Justanotherlurker · 12/12/2018 09:27

The tories have always thought only of themselves and their party.

No different to labour, remember that the majority of Con MP's voted remain, it was the fact the result was such a shock to everyone is why we are in this shower of shit.

Russiawithlove · 12/12/2018 09:27

This is so not about Brexit. It's about politicians disregarding the wishes of the people who won a vote..

Is no one seeing this. We have no democracy if this happens. It tells you what Mps really think of everyone who is not privileged.

Bowchicawowow · 12/12/2018 09:27

Not sure I agree entirely Lady. I think we have had politicians of integrity in the past. The problem is this generation of career politicians will do anything for power.

user1499173618 · 12/12/2018 09:28

It's about politicians disregarding the wishes of the people who won a vote.

Those wishes badly need to be disregarded because the vote was won on the back of lies.

Worriedmummybekind · 12/12/2018 09:29

user1499173618 totally agree.

At what point can we as remainers say “I told you so. Now you’ve had your fun, the grown ups are coming back to sort out this mess, stay in the EU and get on actually running the country”?!

user1499173618 · 12/12/2018 09:29

We have no democracy if this happens

It is not democracy when we are asked to vote on lies and no plans.

GoldenWonderwall · 12/12/2018 09:29

Not impressed being one of the 70 million people who are being negatively effected by the tories playing fucking soap opera storylines with our lives in the week before Christmas. Fuck off. Grant isn’t coming back to The Vic on Xmas day and British bulldog glory bullshit isn’t coming back on Brexit.
