It's all such a mess. I'm not a fan of Teresa May particularly, but I do think anyone would have struggled to make a success of Brexit after the referendum, so not entirely sure what replacing May will achieve. And also who on earth would replace her if the challenge is successful?

The fact is that Brexit was voted for. It doesn't matter by how much.
I don't know what the solution is here but it was voted for by the people

It was voted on a bunch of lies.

SassitudeandSparkle · 12/12/2018 21:56

Oh yes!

My MP has been vocal about voting against TM so I have no doubt that he is one of the 117. I am like the kid in the Simpsons going 'hahah' ATM Grin

People were deceived.

Best of three, eh brexiteers.

Brexiteers don’t want another ref because they will lose.

They were illegally funded, they overspent, they lied. Take it back to the country: explain this will make you poorer and ruin the gfa- do you still want it?
If we say yes, we deserve the shit storm that follows.

surferjet · 12/12/2018 22:01

People were deceived.

Are we playing remainer bingo?

Talkinpeece · 12/12/2018 22:03

@Surferjet
You never did explain why you are happy with Brazilian NHS nurses rather than Belgian ones after the end of FOM ....

People were indeed deceived about immigration

HateIsNotGood · 12/12/2018 22:04

Hmm - unsurprisingly TM won.

So, carry on and As we Were.

user1499173618 · 12/12/2018 22:05

sheldonesque - the deal negotiated by TM does not deliver Brexit. It’s just a very bad way of being bound to the EU as a rule taker.

The only Brexit option now is no deal.

superstarburst · 12/12/2018 22:06

I completely agree helmet
As a remainer, I would accept leaving far more after a second referendum, if that was the result, because I would feel that it was a more informed decision at least.

surferjet · 12/12/2018 22:10

You never did explain why you are happy with Brazilian NHS nurses rather than Belgian ones after the end of FOM

Probably because I never actually said that.

Talkinpeece · 12/12/2018 22:12

No, but you accepted that the NHS still needs nurses and you do not like queue jumping EU citizens ....
Brexit will not fill the vacancies in UK hospitals

Angiemum24 · 12/12/2018 22:26

Can’t stand the woman as she looks down on people all time. But if Rees-Mogg got into power it would be worse. Hopefully st the bpnext election Jermry Corbyn will get in.

HateIsNotGood · 12/12/2018 22:38

Bring back Nursing Bursaries. Until then, qualified Nurses from ANY country are encouraged to apply. They used to and, as far as I know always have and will continue to do so.

But Brexit aside, the UK does need to bring back Nursing Bursaries and I think, the old SRN/SEN system was helpful - not all nursing requires a degree and not all great nurses need a degree either.

Nat6999 · 12/12/2018 23:27

JC did the right thing not using the vote of no confidence yet, I honestly think he will be putting it in as soon as the result of the Brexit vote is known. TM will think she is untouchable now, I hope all her MP's that were going to reject her Brexit agreement hold their nerve & vote to reject it.

JocelynBell · 12/12/2018 23:43

surferjet couldn't care less about the NHS.

DiegoVelazquez · 12/12/2018 23:55

Every election ever held has been won based on lies.

LadyRochfordsFrostedGusset · 13/12/2018 06:26

Apologies for the levity but this made me giggle

I agree about no mass riots. The Brexiteers I know are over 60, very middle class and so will moan a lot then book a holiday. I doubt very much they will loot.

LadyRochfordsFrostedGusset · 13/12/2018 06:28

Bold fail

Ladymargarethall · 13/12/2018 06:34

You can find out how they said they voted. My MP is not on either list, but his two best buddies voted against.

caringcarer · 13/12/2018 11:49

I get so pissed off when remainers constantly say people who voted leave did not know what they voted for. On the leaflet Cameron sent to every house hold in the land it clearly stated if you vote to leave the EU you will be voting to leave the SM and the CU. I then researched the EU in depth and its trade policy with other countries and how they took to make, then WTO and how countries traded through this route and then made my choice. This argument about leaving out means leaving CU and SM was reiterated again in the Conservative manifesto so I actually voted for it twice. Then remainers constantly say leavers don't know what they voted for as if they are only people who could possibly know.

MissMalice · 13/12/2018 11:55

then WTO and how countries traded through this route

Solely WTO - literally nobody. medium.com/@MrWeeble/who-actually-trades-solely-under-wto-rules-1b6127ce33c6

Agreeing a WTO schedule isn’t exactly straight forward either - www.heraldscotland.com/opinion/17232332.agenda-events-in-geneva-could-make-the-london-drama-pointless/

Poppyinagreenfield · 13/12/2018 12:07

I want to play remainer bingo too.

People were deceived.
The bus.
Old people.
House prices.
The NHS
Food.
Medicines

I guess we need at least twenty words or phrases.

Not sure about ignorant oinks though.

Yes, but do you honestly think the majority of people did this? Some vote with their emotions, (or heart over head) anger, dismissal or for change, and also others vote based on what they see (the bus for example). Or due to their preconceptions and circumstances (e.g. having lots of immigration in their area).

Orangeblossom1976 · 13/12/2018 12:46

Will we get another vote I wonder?

MissMalice · 13/12/2018 13:15

Another vote on Brexit?
If May can’t get her deal through Parliament and she wants to avoid a No Deal scenario then it’s one of the few options available to her. She’s not putting her deal to a vote in parliament until after Christmas so we’ve got a lot of waiting to do.
