Most underrated and overrated TV in your opinion

I'm talking about good TV not shows everyone realises are a bit cack

OVERRATED

This Is Us - everyone shits on about this like it's the most amazing new show in years

It's not as good as Brothers And Sisters was and not as good as Parenthood both similarly themed

UNDERRATED

I never hear anyone talk about Fargo ever and the second series was AMAZING I've just seen it

Never seemed to get any acclaim over here but so good and so funny.

Absolutely agree about Firefly...brilliant series that introduced some great actors, way ahead of its time. Couldn't understand when it was axed...still on sometimes, on Syfy.

Breaking Bad - I just didn't care about any of the characters, I could tell it was well made and acted, but it has such a cold and unpleasant storyline. Got to series 4 before sacking it off.

Over rated: friends, how I met your mother, stranger things. Mrs Brown's boys is just not funny.

Underrated: episodes, the end of the f#%@ng world, disenchanted

nothinglikeadame you have summed up how I felt about Breaking Bad. Objectively I could see that it was brilliantly done, fantastic acting performances etc. but I couldn't love it. DH is obsessed with it (and Better Call Saul, which I prefer tbh) but it's not for me.

And I agree about No Offence too.

Overrated
Game of Thrones - I really tried to get into it but it was so boring.
Big Bang Theory - I cannot fathom how this is so popular
The Walking Dead - my husband loves it but every episode seems to be the same

Underrated
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip was fantastic
Freaks and Geeks - only one series but again, brilliant
Search Party - I loved this but no one seems to have heard of it.

Overrated- Strictly Come Dancing; Bake Off; Dr Who; Sherlock

Underrated- The Ambassadors (Mitchell and Webb- only three episodes but so funny); Rev; Alias Grace

Fargo, series and film are superb (Martin Freeman and Ewan McGregor especially good)
Game of Thrones is brilliant - takes a few episodes to get into it though
Breaking Bad - really enjoyed it when I thought I'd hate it
Peaky Blinders - love it

Overrated: The Sinner - just dragged I thought and a bit meh
Mrs Browns Boys - hate it - can't find it funny

Overrated - Homeland. As if the CIA would hire someone with bi-polar. Carrie Matheson had no credibility for me and there's something about Damian Lewis face that turns me right off.
Bodyguard. Relied too much on suspense. No depth. And the relationship with the Home Secretary was eeew.

Underrated - Better Call Saul. I liked Breaking Bad, but Vince Gilligan takes the prequel to a whole new level.
I enjoyed Atlantic Empire. Surprised to read negative comments.
W1A - so clever and true to life. Also 20/12.
Yy to Fargo. Watch the film again first. Lots of little references.

Overrated - Stranger things. I honestly think that there's so much crap on Netflix that something that is just OK is wildly celebrated. I thought Stranger things was an an enjoyable enough pastiche, and it's nice to see Winona getting work but that's about it. In the same vein, I might add Oranges... I've watched most of it and it is sometimes great, but largely a bit dull, IMO.

Underrated - GLOW. Charmingly low key, you get the sense that the people who made it actually like the show. Gentle.

I thought Sons of Anarchy was massively over-rated. A few years ago, you couldn't move for people falling over themselves to tell you have amazing it was/is.

I lasted 3 seasons (but only because DH insisted) before I put my foot down and stopped watching. It was just so horribly, unrelentingly miserable. Every time it looked like something vaguely good might happen, it all went to shit, again, over and over. Essentially, it was either horrible people doing horrible things, or nice people having horrible things done to them.

Under-rated - I loved My Name Is Earl, Chuck and Fringe. No one ever mentioned them, but they were all ace.

Overrated. American Horror Story. I loved the first 4 seasons. Jessica Lange left and the quality dropped.
The Walking Dead. I'm still a viewer but don't get excited to watch it or count down the days til it comes back on anymore.

Overrated: Gilmore Girls

Underrated: Borderline.

Oh and making a murderer is also overrated. I kept falling asleep. No idea why everyone on here raves about it.

Overrated: Game of Thrones. Poldark. Most BBC costume dramas. Scripted 'reality' TV.

I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. I don't want to see poor insects being crushed or eaten alive. Imagine the fuss if a chicken was being eaten alive! Also the princess of smug Holly Willoughby.

Underrated.
The Americans.
The Russian speakers actually speak Russian. I like the story and character development. I'm rooting for the Russians. Which is weird because I was expecting to be on the Americans side. Love the disguises.

Totally agree. I loved the first 4 seasons. Love Jessica Lange but after then it went down hill. I wondered if there were different writers because they were so rubbish compared to the others.

Just recently we've really enjoyed Life in Pieces, which I haven't seen on this list, and there were 2 seasons of a program called Whitney which I found really funny. Oh, and Catastrophe- if you haven't watched that, then do! If you like darker/ wierder programs try Happy- we binge watched that in a day.
